Not saying they are all bad and a lot of them have useful tips. Used to watch Xcal for that reason. I just can't be bothered to sit through an entire match. Can't even watch those sub-7 minute speedrjns without getting bored.

Please don't take this personally, but... I wish more people would have more respect for other's privacy and mind their own business. It's really nothing that should concern you or anyone else that doesn't already know all about it. And I'm not just talking about the Stardusk case, but in general. I understand curiosity, but we should all be able to rise above it.

As for me, I'm not entirely sure what it was all about - and I don't need to know. Stardusk is a great guy, I played quite a bit with him, and loved every minute of it. That's more than enough for me.

Totally agreed. Stardusk's a nice guy. He has some totally weird and questionable opinions, but that never stopped me from having fun while playing with him.

me0120, I just checked that old topic, and you didn't add your thoughts on that solo. I would very much love to hear the details. Good or bad, it don't matter, as long as it's your very honest opinion. I won't even make a rebuttal if you'd like.

 

Other then that I'm surprised to hear someone actually tried that... ditto for no Pull DV. It's always nice to hear folks messing around with new things & even challenging themselves a bit instead of just the same old, same old.

I can summarize real quick for you then.

 

Build

 

Rio was probably one of the easier maps. It gives you a lot of room to run, multiple points of escape, and a beneficial glitch. The hardest part is certain objectives, I got Targets/Devices/Hack with the Hack being in the easiest location luckily. The Targets I decided to do without rockets to save them for Wave 8, which turned out to be a good decision. The QFE has a great mook stagger with Cryo Blast. For Troopers and Captain I would use Cryo Blast and apply headshots until they were down to health and then I would use Incinerate. It keeps them from shooting back and kills relatively quickly, offers medium crowd control but the best thing it did was slow them down so more Abominations could come to me. Abomination are what take the wave budget down, but if you turn your back on a Trooper or a Captain you are pretty much dead. That's where the turret would come in. Going from one spot to another I would pop the turret up to give me a 5 second distraction, it was pretty successful. 

 

Scions weren't much of a problem since they are Armor heavy and all three of the QME's offenses are Armor damage based (Inc, Cryo Blast, and CSMG). If they were unpossessed I would simply RHA and spam powers, if possessed I would use false cover for the clusters and then go back to RHA. After one cycle of his powers I would transition to another target to keep from getting shot in the side, then go back to the Scion. Cryo became pretty useful for slowing them down so I wouldn't get boxed in. Praetorians you just have to whittle down, nothing fancy. 

 

The whole match was about not being boxed in. Cryo Blast and Incinerate are great on mooks and the CSMG does a great job at headshots so offensively i wasn't doing too bad. It wasn't a great but it was safe. Collectors lack the speed of Dragoons, stagger of Geth, and erratic rushing of Reapers (also no on host Phantom BS) so Collectors offered a very manageable challenge. I got 7 waves survived but went down 4 times on Wave 8. Other than that things went well.

Yeah OP, if it wasn't for these forums I would have never have tried half of the kits, or really understood the mechanics of the game. Not to mention all of the balance changes bioware did in that first year. Good times for sure.

As a fairly new player, I must say that I cannot fathom myself improving or becoming better with mass effect 3 multiplayer without BSN. There is a wealth of information from people that I thank greatly for. Without them I doubt I would have found the courage to face down platinum level gameplay. For example, my earliest experience with the collectors was that of extreme frustration and complete lack of ambition. Even then, I picked myself back up and started reading literature on the internet along with watching videos by bwnci, invaderone, and several others. For further credit, the thread labeled "platinum solo hall of fame" has been an immensely valuable resource, each and every one of the videos were enjoyable, even when they may or may not coincide my play style.

As I am a hard if hearing man with a cochlear implant I find videos not only resourceful in how to play the game but, also resourceful in learning different speech patterns and accents. Before the implant everyone sounded similar except for high and low pitch (male and female.) Now I am listening to English, Irish, Rrrrrrussian accents, the other day I watched a video of someone speaking and I had to ask my wife what he was saying which turned out to be a Frenchman. Awesome!

So, I thank all of you that have participated by informing myself of different techniques and giving tips on how to play mass effect 3 multiplayer. I would have been lost for much longer without you guys.

All that being said, I have noticed a trend in the community, not from everyone mind you, how easy it is for people to take things for granted. Thankfully, the trashy rubble is easy to overlook while searching for the golden bits.
