Not going to bother reading everything, I'll just say I hope we get to kill him. Surely he does not have Leliana's plot armor as well?

Vivi is supposed to be our pro-Circle advocate, but my suspicion is that she's less pro-Circle than she is pro-Vivienne.

Yeah, she gives me the same impression.

We also had Wynne as a Pro-Circle advocate. Morrigan was... an apostate hermit (You are ALL stupid leave me out of it). Anders was the apostate Freedom fighter. I dunno, even though Vivienne is "Pro-Circle" I suspect like TK514 that she is more "mage independence in a USEFUL way" and right now the best autonomy AND influential path for her is to help re-form the Circle.

I wouldn't mind reforming the Circle. Could be interesting.

May I ask why?

Re-forming the Circle is how I desire to end the conflict.

But WITHOUT the Chantry. Templars and their lovely anti-magic "here little one, don't set fire in your sleep" auras... yes. Telling the mages their power is a curse and that they can be possessed by horrrrrrrible demons and murder everyone they know and love at the smallest misstep? No.

But...they totally can...

but they do have a higher chance of possession and they have in the past killed people accidentally because they used their power recklessly......

I'd like it to be a little of both. I would like them to see their magic as a gift, not a curse; however, they need to know the dangers. Not only to themselves, but for the populace. If you tell a child to look both ways before crossing the road, but fail to tell them why--they'll just look for the answer themselves.

May I ask why?

Partly to see if I can, partly because I don't care to have him in my game unless I'm playing a pro-templar and chantry inquisitor.

If you're playing a pro-templar, would having Vivienne in your game bother you?

That's kind of the truth though.

There's a difference between a warning and emotional manipulation. The Chantry went too far in the latter direction. But ignorance is not the answer. It should be seen as something that can be controlled and the risks reduced because it's valuable and worth it however there are risks.

Cullen will be in your organization no matter what.  You can't deny him like a lot of companions.  At most, he may be killable near end-game.

No. Vivienne would get a pass for being pro-circle, like Wynne does.

Thanks for answering. I figured that would be the case.

Being an adviser likely takes that opportunity off the table.

Cullen would be a good Pro-Templar advocate as he has best intentions for mages, as well as thinking of the Templars as defenders and safekeepers rather than jailers.

Wynne would be good for a Pro-Mage advocate for similar, mage oriented reasons.

Judging Anders as a mage advocate is irrelevant, as most people say he would  be terrible due to his actions in Dragon Age 2.
But most people forget that in Dragon Age 2, he is not really Anders anymore.

Is he states himself "Not even the best clerics or magical scholars could tell wear the I begin and wear Vengeance ends.  We are one in the same, now."

Meaning that hsi actions were likely driven by Vengeance's virutes and motives, as the Anders I know wouldn't have done anything so drastic.
Then again, he did attempt to steal the phylacterys in Amarathine...
