I think all the people saying the game is 'basically done' might be underestiming how big of a deal bug fixing is in creating software.
Anyone think this game gets delayed further?

Seeing bugs and shoddy textures in pre-release media is really nothing new, especially in a Bioware game.
I'll be honest - I absolutely love Bioware and I have for years... But shoddy textures I find are rather the norm in Bioware games. ![]()
Play Knights of the Old Republic, or Mass Effect, or even Origins again (without any mods installed) and tell me the textures aren't rather plain looking. But there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. The appeal of Bioware has always been substance over aesthetics. You may not get the most beautiful textures in the world, but in exchange you get a story that is deep and engaging, characters you form a bond with, and choices which impact the story. Is it cool that they're branching out and attempting to incorporate beautiful visuals alongside all of those things, for Inquisition? Yeah, it certainly is... But personally, it's not going to make or break the game for me if we get stuck with textures that aren't really that impressive. I'll be far too engaged by talking to Leliana, or hearing Iron Bull tell me about his adventures, to pay attention to texture quality. ![]()

Would have to be a pretty huge catastrophe to cause a delay at this point. I'm assuming all these delay rumors are spinning around Epler's SNAFU with the tools earlier. I think you can rest assured if it's on twitter, chances are it's not particularly serious, or at the very least, not perceived to be serious.

You also have to remember that the temp textures might have only been for that particular armor set.
The other temp stuff we have seen hasn't been too bad, though I do question what they were thinking with Cole's reveal. Maybe they just forgot that he was 75% temp textures.

People really hung up on the texture? There's almost nothing you can do with creating and applying a texture that would break the game the same way introducing a new system, or even tuning said system would do. I'd wager applying textures and finishing touches like that will be ongoing up until possibly a week before the Gold build is ready.

No. I don't see it being delay at all.

As long as it can ship with no game breaking bugs, no delay is needed.

Not really, no - imperfect textures haven't exactly caused delays on any games with firm release dates, at least not that I'm aware of.

Graphic fine tuning and textures are normally the last things to get put in, there is still its current stage and beta, by the time things come to octeber everything texture wise will be ready. Its normal for a game to still have some templates in this stage, bigger fish to fry then some textures.
Just my view point in anycase.

In DA2
Before it was patched there was a gamebreaking bug where characters started slowing down in combat, and in animations because of a problem with adding Isabella to your party and adding a buff. When Isabella was removed it caused hawke to slow down, the effect increasing each time you removed Isabella and put her back into the party.
The makers sigh bug which created negative stats.
There is a bug in the original shipped copy of ps3 dao where you get stuck in the fade and could not proceed further in the game.
DA2 had the worst bugs.

I got DA2 after release on xbox so I guess it was just patched, never used makers sigh either. I've never had dao on ps3. So no wonder I never encountered them.
I guess I was just lucky.
Thank you for the insight anyway ![]()

why do people keep talking about "cutting content" when theyve already said the game is finished and currently in bug fixing mode? Its already been delayed an entire year, and the main storyline itself is purportedly 50 hours long, how much more do you want? As for bugs and technical stuff, there is absolutely no way you can make a game of this size "bug free" at launch and it would never reach the level of polish some people here seem to expect just because they delayed it two months. You have absolutely no way of knowing how the game is going to impact the pc playerbase for example because our specs are so widely different that certain bugs might pop up for someone that wont for someone else etc- at the end of the day in order to reach this idealistic lala-land level of "polish" they need to have a very large amount of people and on different systems testing the game, which for obvious reasons isnt going to happen until its released

There is no way in heck that DAI gets delayed with the Witcher 3 release looming a little too close for EA/Bioware's comfort

The game has already been once delayed.
There is a lot of marketing going on now and delaying the game would be shooting yourself in the knee.
It's not gonna happen.
