This is more like 2 things in one.

Back in Origins if you pre-ordered you got got the spiffy Blood Dragon Armor, if you imported a save from Dragon Age origins into DA2 you kept the BDA. With the invention of Dragons Keep is BDA no longer going to be a reoccuring armor set?

Also the BDA was in ME2 and 3, any chance we could get a iconic ME armor in Dragon Age Inquisition?

Reminds me of the item set that was made for cross-promotion with Kingdoms of Amalur :)

I like the omni-daggers!

If we don't at least get the BDA I will be upset.  In fact, we should have 3 sets of BDA, one for each class.

I've never really liked cross-over items.

Well, they're all from other games made by EA.  They're going to be silly.

The KoA cross-promotion stuff ruined that game. I know it's optional and all, but even so, take some effort to balance that crap either by introducing high-power stuff later, or making items introduced early no stronger than level-equivalent elite gear. Unless your goal was to undermine the progression curve, then congratulations, loot it pointless for level 1-12.

I haven't played KoA so I wouldn't know wether they were too powerful, but it seems to me that promo items should be scalable. Either to the level you acquire them (so they're not too powerful nor already obsolete by then) or adapting to your level as you advance (so they never become obsolete), but certainly not anything that would upset balance.

Never turned down free stuff ...

We would be getting Flames of the inquisition armor and weapon set for pre-ordering, and the mounts

You get the KoA promo items right after the tutorial, and while they do not level up with you, they (especially Shepard's armor set) make you overpowered for quite a while.

Ah I just found the one you meant.

It is indeed quite nice as far as promo items go.

i would love the BDA or some variation of it to come back, how they could go about this though via the keep is abit of a mystery right now

In the past, Origin (the EA client) detected the presence in your library of a game or the presence of a save from a particular game to see wether you had access to promo items. For example, as I remember it, you needed an ME3 save to get the N7 armor in Dead Space 3, so the presence of DAO and DA2 in your library could entitle you to Blood Dragon in DAI, but it sucks that there is no medium or light equivalent.

I would like to see some rewards for playing/beating previous Bioware games. Not just any random EA games that happen to be launching around the same time. I would like to see something from the ME trilogy and something from DAO/A/2. It would be pretty cool to see some SWTOR stuff in there too. But I'm not remotely interested in Dead Space or Titanfall or whatever other EA properties in DAI. I don't dislike EA properties either, like I love Mirror's Edge, but I don't think Bioware games should include a bunch of cross-promotional marketing blah blah blah. These items should be a reward for loyalty and fandom, not an opportunity to try and sell us something else.

Can see them maybe doing some sort of Battlefield: Hardline promo tbh

i think the main thing to take away from this so far is that there are no plans (as far as im aware) for charging for anything like DLC characters or armor sets, i would LOVE to see some items come from the flash game maybe? i did enjoy that game and got some items for origins via that

Yeah, ME3 had the Battlefield 3 soldier in MP didn't it...

Would they do that for Dragon Age, though? I don't know.

At the very least Blood Dragon Armour should make another appearance as it almost feels like a tradition to include (since it has been in every Bioware original game since Dragon Age),

I think we should actually get a weapon called Murder Knife, with a 5% chance to instantly slay minor enemies.

I want to find the "murder knife" in-game. Hidden in a high level exploration area,
Flavor text: "the sharp edges of this tiny blade catch the light beautifully, it feels 'right' In your hand, almost urging you to strike, assuring you it will only take one swift cut"

Indeed it would be fantastic to have Bioware Legacy items for cd keys we could paste in (since not all our BioWare games are on Origin), or even as easter eggs to find across the world or as a holidays DLC pack, especially for the Legacy titles. And... it actually might be a fun thing to do for the guys and gals who actually worked on those earlier projects!  Blast from the past! :)

Fun things like...

An asian weapon for Jade Empire

Revan's mask for KOTOR

Aribeth's armor for Neverwinter Nights (or any number of models and references? please?)

Blood Dragon for DAO

Vigilence for Awakening

A class apropriate mantle of the champion set for DA2

A Jedi or Sith robe for SWTOR, according to the decisions made by the player so far (surely there is some form of pragon/renegade scale in DAI?)

A staff that casts "Singularity" for ME1

A Miranda/Jacob medium armor in Inquisition colours and logo for ME2

A Krogan Battlemaster hammer for ME3

One can dream, right?
