Yeah sure, so I assume you can name me a few civilizations where people didn't trust or rely on each other, where societal roles and jobs didn't exist and where no one had any morals or dignity.

I have never heard of a working community made up of antisocial sociopaths.

Honor is one of the foundations of a working society. It's not naïve, it's normal.

I doubt that we will be given an option to destroy it, but if there will be an option to weaken Orlais, I will use it, because if Orlais is weak, that means that they won't attack Ferelden.

A powerful one then, Our characters are always powerful versions of their class

Power won't save you from a poisoned drink or a slit throat at night.

Assassination is one of the most common political means in Tevinter.

It also means they wouldn't be in a position to offer full assistance when the Qunari inevitably return.

And it could mean that they are weak enough to focus on Ferelden rather than other things. Sometimes a weak country will be more aggressive and expansionist in periods of weakness than in periods of strength.

If Orlais is weakened and the Inquisition allies with the leadership of Ferelden (and potentially an independent Dales), I can see the Orlesians focusing on their own reconstruction efforts, instead of risking a two-front war.

Honor, isn't just any concept, it's a principle that might be as essential to the human condition as love. Honor defines the duties of a person within a social group and how others see them.

Wether you might realize it or not, human society is at least partially based on honor. No honor means no credibility, respect or dignity.

there is no honor in the real world its false hope told by people to ease into false sence of security what you dont know will kill you or worse.

Gives the Dales to the Dalish. Aside from that, I'll probably just watch it burn

Put down the various uprisings, end the Civil War with the political marriage of Gaspard and Celene, leave Orlais the strongest it has been since Drakon.

You do realized they are cousins and we don't need Orlais to be anymore GOTish then it already seems and I see them clashing weakening Orlais

If i could end the civil war I probably go my Origins route and marry my self to one of them and if i couldn't do that I choose Celene because she keep the peace and make Orlais a better place but if right on the edge to switching to gaspard right just because of his honor and I just real like both of them.

Then your Dalish get crushed by some other human nation that wants to move in. They're safer if they just wander around.

Didn't stop him from proposing once already in an attempt to head off Civil War. Then again, he hadn't soundly beaten her at her own game and then watched her bungle defeat from the jaws of victory by driving her strongest supporter to betrayal. So maybe she's not worthy to keep the throne after all.

While I agree on some of the points you are making, I will have to disagree on the notion that society existed long before the concept of honour. Honour existed and will continue to exist as long as human beings are trading with each other. Commerce and trades are based on honour and trust. One of the big problems that we face today in world economy is that those big fish (I.e. Wall Street) have lost almost all honour. That is why we are in what we are in at the moment.

Anyway what I am trying to say is that honour is in every part of our daily life whether you see it or not. If I bought a vacuum cleaner, the company should honour the warranty that came with it right?

lol.. sorry.

I think a permenant Dalish settlement needs some kind of partnership. Either with Orlais or Ferelden. Or both, if we're lucky.

Considering an independent Dales and Ferelden would have Orlesian occupation in common, I could see an obvious alliance being struck between the two, especially with the Inquisitor involved.

Hahaha don't worry, I'm just messing around ;D

I agree; I could see the Dales been a vassal state or the lesser partner in a union. If you've played or read the Witcher series, I'd say something akin to the state of Dol Blathanna would work. But like LobselVith said, it could be as simple as an alliance between Ferelden and the Dales. I doubt Orlais would accept a partnership though because they would see it as Orlesian territory

1. Independent elvish kingdom in the Dales, probably with the Empress's assassin from Masked Empire as queen.

2. Kill Gaspard, give the rest of Orlais to Celene (Gaspard wants to keep oppressing the elves and invade other countries, so he's got to go)

3. Put a puppet Divine in charge of the Chantry, willing to do whatever the Inquisition says.

4. Destroy the templars and absorb the remnants into the Inquisition.

5. Absorb the Circle into the Inquisiton.

I expect to be able to do at least steps one and two, and hopefully the whole thing.

I'm not expecting you to be able to influence much else than who is on the throne at most. I'd probably side with Celene in most cases as I tend to make diplomatic characters.

All hope is false hope by that standard. It is, however, a real and applicable concept of the human mind.

That's really not how alliances work. Especially when one party still has and upholds laws making it illegal to kill in defense of the other. The enemy of my enemy who also oppresses me is also my oppressor, not my friend.

It makes about as much sense as a Dalish-City Elf-Circle alliance against the dastardly Chantry. Which is to say, not really.
