I was wondering if they were going to return the whole weapon set system? I loved it in Origins how my archers could go hand to hand with daggers if enemies drew close. It added a layer of tactical strategy and preparedness and it just feels like it makes sense. Not sure if weapon sets are returning but it looks like since we're allowed to respec companions to different weapons, wouldn't it be cool if they could have multiple weapon talents?

They will have multiple weapon talents. Every Warrior and Rogue will have both styles of fighting respective to their class.

If you're asking whether they're going to return the feature where at a click of a button you switch to the opposite weapon style with an alternate set of abilities set up for you, I doubt it. Didn't see anything of the sort in the demos.

But I hope they do it! I really loved the feature in Origins.

I doubt we will unfortunately. I really missed that feature in DA2. Although it does admittedly lose a lot of usefulness for warriors and mages with weapon types being restricted. Only rogues switching from range to close quarters get the full usefulness out of it. Even so, it would be nice to be able to quickly switch between a couple different staffs/swords with different damage types/attributes.

Idk I mean personally I would want a warrior like Blackwall to go TwoHanded weapons to smash opponeents but when I want him to tank damage I'd switch him to a sword and shield set.

Or if I was more on Iron bull I'd equip him with a greataxe and then a maul or something else. Multiple weapon styles had different advantages and disadvantages in DAO at least. in DA2 though they were all generally the same, just more attack power which was really meh :/

I would also love this feature back. But I think warriors would be able to benefit nicely from it as well. Although, if rogues were the only one to truly benefit from it, I wouldn't mind. It would just be more incentive for players to try the class.

I definitely think all classes could benefit from it, just rogues more so than others. As nice as the melee for bow rogues was in DA2, it just couldn't match up to quickly switching to dual daggers.
