She didn't say she was fine with it; in fact, she implies she would have tried to stop it had she the strenght; but that doesn't change the fact Wynne acknowledges the Chantry has a very good point regarding the dangers mages pose to themselves and others nor the fact that she sees Templars for who they are, men like any other, or the fact that she loves the community within the Circle, etc.

People are extremely complex creatures who don't put everything into two boxes named "like" and "dislike", go figure.

Still hate her and was happy when she died.

O____O

It's not that unusual. I mean, I wouldn't say anything stronger than "she could get on my nerves and I resent the lack of opportunity for more in-depth debates about the nature of the Circle," but I can see where others would take greater offense at certain things.

Maybe it is just my dislike of her that makes me see this, really how can a mother support a system that stole her child from her before she even got to look at him.

I take it's been awhile since you played Origins (and actually talked to Wynne,) but no she didn't just "accept it" at the time.  If she could have had the strength to protest or struggle, she even says she would have.

Accepting his loss in time wasn't "stockholm syndrome. "  It only means that she had to accept that sadly, Rhys was gone from her and there was nothing she could do at that point to see him again.

So, while I can understand the dislike for Wynne, perhaps you're using the wrong term for her mentality.

I started hating her when she told my warden to dump her lover and be miserable and alone.

You know, that's the one thing I would really like to discuss with my companions in the next game. We have such a diverse group of followers, especially the mages, that I would love to debate the subject.

I just want the chance for my Dalishness to matter.

It would certainly be interesting, for sure.

In a debate regarding the nature of the Circle?

Perhaps to interject a Dalish perspective on the topic.

H-hate Wynne...?   :(

But who else would I ask constantly about griffins?

I didn't really like Wynne and I don't really like Rhys, either, but I wasn't happy to see Wynne die. (And probably wont be when Rhys likely dies in DA:I... )

Yes, but it'd be more important for it to matter at all, in anything significant.

Perhaps to interject a Dalish perspective on the topic.

There's that, yes.

Hate Wynne?

Her voice and demeanor were far too pleasant, and her body was too amusing for me to ever hate her.

Well, the violent ones want Templars to stay away. The well intentioned but poorly informed ones wonder why humans lock their mages away where they can't do any good (forgetting human society is in no way similar to the Dalish clans) and the smart Jones stay because being in close proximity to humans shortens their lifespan. Ah, I made a funny.

I hardly think it requires violence to want the templars to stay away.

So, if the Dalish are right and humans are radioactive, what does that imply for the romance between Merril and Hawke?

Nothing that wasn't implied already by Merrill moving to the Alienage. In any case, the Dalish haven't yet ended the Quickening, so romancing Hawke wouldn't make things any worse.

I take it you didn't talk to her later, when she admits she was wrong about that, and there is a strength that comes from love?

I love Anders and I share his view of the Chantry. Romanced him and let him live in DA2. I was surprised when he blew up the kirkwall chantry but was impressed with how far he was willing to stand up for his views. It wasn't necessarily the most rational thing to do but I can understand why he did it. Just played Awakening and it was jarring how beefy he is in that compared to DA2 but I digress. Hope he shows up in DAI

I think we're gonna start seeing a lot of tranquil mages come out of tranquility because of the fade tear, and Anders will likely be perma-Justice.
