Since leadership is such a big theme, I went with names that had royal meanings.
1) Rhiannon - Dalish mage. Means "great queen". It's also a Welsh name, which seemed appropriate if the elves still have Welsh accents (although we can only have American/English accents). Lawful good personality.
2) Indrani - Qunari warrior. "Queen of Indra", Hindu goddess of wrath, jealousy, and beauty. Neutral evil personality.
3) Candace - Dwarf rogue. "Queen mother". I also thought the alliteration of Candace Cadash was cute.
Chaotic neutral personality.
Don't really care for humans. I think they're boring in a fantasy setting.

I'm pretty boring - I always just use the default names. Loved Garrett and Daylen... Didn't play any other Origin characters so I don't know their default names.

I'll probably use the default names. I usually like them. I'm curious as to what they are at present.
I agree the default names are always the best and also lore friendly
something like naming a dwarf johny would be just very strange

I usually run a human mage with a name starting with R, but I like to see what they look like before I decide which specific name to go for.
And I imagine that I'll have a Qunari named "Bob", just for laughs.

1st playthrough will be a male Dalish mage named Theron; it means untamed.
I still don't know what my female Qunari warrior will be named.

Dwarf Male- Gunther (German for 'soldier, warrior')
German for Soldier or Warrior would be "Soldat" and "Krieger" respectively. Gunther is just a random name in Germany. But, of course, it is derived from some pre-medieval tribal dialect of germanic Tribes that lived here before the middle Ages.
Trust me, I'm german.

It's usually something I determine in the CC based on her look, but I like it when my names have meaning.
My Wardens were Aradessa (Dessa root means wanderer), Aleia (to Ascend) and Aedric (Blessed/Rich Ruler)
My Orlesian Warden was Cosetta (little/delicate because she was a nifty little rogue.).
and my Hawke was Felicity (Latin root felicitas meaning good fortune).
As you can see, I like the prissy names.

About the elves being Gaelic: the Dalish elves in DA2 have Irish and Welsh accents. "Gaelic" usually refers to Scottish Gaelic. In Europe "Irish Gaelic" is usually referred to as "Irish" (sometimes it is called "Gaelic" or "Irish Gaelic" tho). idk which language people are referring to when they're saying "Gaelic"? or is it both?

Honestly, it will probably be a reference to metal music. My last Warden was named Amon, as in Amon Amarth...so I may name my male warden Amarth (regardless of race selected).

I have *no* idea what to name my Vashoth Inquisitor. Don't know what kind of names Qunari outside the Qun give. If there are default names in the character creator maybe that'll help.
