Agreed OP. It would have been tremendously satisfying to have that acknowledgement. But in light of that my CE head canon goes something like this...
Madrigal executes a two-handed whirlwind sweep with the Elvhenan Weapons. Howe falls backwards onto the floor clutching his torn breastplate. Spluttering blood he begins to painfully worm his way backwards across the floor.
Madrigal "For them..."
Howe: “Maker spit on you... I deserved m-"
Madrigal "For you..." drives her longsword (nico's gift) two handed straight down through his heart. A metallic "Tang" echoes around the dungeon.
Madrigal falls to her knees dagger falling spent from her hand. Yet in all her rage and frustration for her people she can only weep for Shianni once the bravest of them all. Leliana kneels down to hold her as Alistair places his hand on the warden's shoulder squeezing through her torn ancient elven fabric.
Morrigan. Perplexed. Moves towards the group but physically holds herself almost stumbling.... then turns her gaze away. Arms folded. Finished.
