I loved Dragon Age 2, liked Origins, and was kind of "meh" on Awakening.

 

One change I really enjoyed in Dragon Age 2 is that the player character had much more of an established personality than the Warden from Origins and Awakening. Having a choice actor for the PC was an amazing choice.

Hawkes role in DAi is to continue to screw things up.

Anyway, my hope is that Hawke is mentioned once by Varric. He says, "Hawke? Hawke is fine. He's out there somewhere with [da2LoveInterest]."

 

I played that game. I earned my Happy Ending. I want to keep it.

 

Knowing Bioware, however, we will probably find Hawkes rotting corpse with some lame joke about how "incompetent" he or she was.

S/He most likely got kidnapped by either red templars or blood mage.

They mentioned that our wardens and hawke may make appearance. Hopefully it'll be similar to what they did in ME3 (or ME2 Liara) where they'll have their own mission that's still kinda contribute to the inquisitor effort.

He'll get one or two mention in dialogues by certain characters..... and that's it!

Too bad. The thing with Hawke having a dominant personality out of three could enable some cool cameo that is consistent of how we played.

I think the Warden/Hawke should have a big damn heroes moment, like Alistair in DA2

 

use the warden commander/champion armor that conceals their faces, have them take on red templars/darkspawn/blood mages, what have you in the distance

And why did he/she disappear? Hawke potentially has a hugely powerful bond with his friends and I doubt Varric wouldn't want to find Hawke. Furthermore it's very suspicious for the Warden and Hawke to vanish no matter what. Something happened and hopefully DAI addresses this. 

 

Furthermore nothing is stopping Bioware from having a system like ME series on the PS3 where you could choose how big events occurred in past games, without importing. Heck, they could even allow the player the option, later on before meeting Hawke and/or the Warden, to choose how they look in DAI.

 

Not addressing them or even showing them during this huge event or why they vanished would be highly disappointing and hurts the narrative due to how important these characters are to DA.
