Leliana and Isabela etc without Warden and Hawk is the biggest problem the story faces

The likely-hood of us seeing the Warden or Hawke ever again is slim to none. There are too many decisions/variables involved and when you factor in that every Warden and every Hawke varied in Gender/Race/Appearance/Origin... It gets insane.

It's not gonna happen and it would be best if people just accept that and move on.

Seriously you guys, cliffs and sharks are dangerous... :P

If we can create a new character with their gender and whatnot each time, why is it insane to include an optional choice to design two more characters, Warden and Hawk? Plus The Keep importer will cover their big decisions and their romances. If they wanted to do it, it'd actually be ridiculously easy, not even close to insane.

Merill is invited to continuity fun times too, we would never leave Merill out in the cold. :D

All I wanted to say was "Bioware better not pull a Revan on my Warden".

Chances are quite high actually in another DA game ...

But seriously not seeing them is not too much of an issue, knowing what happened to them is the bigger issue

I was more confused than anything by how DA2 set Hawke as the beginning of all this crap happening, with Cassandra and Leliana searching the world for the Warden and Hawke...and then they just pick special Inquisitor b/c of his glowy hand...Wouldn't you still want two of the most influential "unifying forces" to help out? Will see how it plays out I guess.

To be fair, it's not just a "glowy hand". That glowy hand can somehow close fade rifts, which is sort of maybe a big deal when one of the biggest threats are the fade rifts tearing the world apart. I don't think Cassandra or Leliana or Cullen truly want to waste anymore time hunting down these two infamous figures when there is a crisis that needs to be resolved now.

But who's to say they're not still looking for Hawke and the Warden on the side? Would be neat if it was a post-game hard-to-achieve reveal that hinted at the next installment. That being said, I don't feel any pressing need to see her or the Warden in action, although I wouldn't mind knowing what they're up to if that information is available.

Which is why I will wait and see playing the game if they actually explain anything. The whole second game was ostensibly Varric telling Cassandra wtf happened in Kirkwall in case it would lead to finding someone. If that doesn't get resolved eventually then it is just another "oh well there is head canon involved so we have to leave it as a cliff hanger". It's kind of like watching half a season of your favourite TV show only for it to be cancelled unexpectedly because of reasons and them not having enough time to actually round off the story so you are left with the characters in limbo /crazyeyes :crying: Life will go on, and I am excited to see some new Bioware stories but it is a personal annoyance more than anything.

Will the tent be big enough for a foursome :P

Clearly this would happen on Isabela's ship in her captain's quarters.

Anyone excited about Inquisition....

I'm sorry, but prepare for many such letdowns. Yeah, it's pretty, but it's still made by the same folks. Lelian wasn;t necessary, but if they can ruin your playthrough they will do it just to spite you. Let Bioware go.

Let it go!! Let it go!!!

If I remember correctly someone from Bioware did say that you might run into Hawke and The Warden in a future game. Mike Laidlaw has stated that playing as a different character "does not mean your old character may never appear in future games," which could indicate that the new protagonist will be able to meet Hawke and the Warden-Commander.

I dont mind if Hawke and The Hero of Feralden appear in the game as long as the proper mindset is met.

Option to recreate or Import

Choice of Voice

NPC Agent only with brief cameo

I wouldn't claim former LI to be biggest problem game faces but i have to say i'm worried about how Hawke's former LI's will be handled. I get that the 'off sailing with Isabela' is very much a headcanon they may not support but the epilogue says the LI was the only one not to leave Hawke before they announced his/her disappearance. Having them show up without Hawke would be problematic for me. They could imply they are searching for Hawke which could work but i would be displeased by just going about random business in any cameo.

Bringing back Hawke or Warden seems rather a minefield imo.

Got a feeling Varric knows more, he has to know what the heck happened to his best mate?

I do agree with the OP that they should have left the warden and Hawke have their happy endings (at least in my case: The Warden and Leliana together and Hawke and Isabella)

But as we know they both disappeared so now I'm hoping they will resolve this issue in DA:I because its one thing that (for an example) Leliana and the warden don't spend that much time together (with him doing warden stuff and leliana being the hand of the divine) but its a whole other thing if they both just

disppeared and maybe even dead :(

Hawke doesn't deserve a happy ending.

As I recall, the search for Hawke and the Warden was basically dropped. Leliana pretty much says that they have to leave it in the hands of the Maker and pray. To me that means the search has stopped.

I don't know why exactly they were even working to find the Warden, TBH. It's not like they were influential enough to stop the war, especially the Orlesian Warden. Hawke, especially a pro-mage Hawke, would be the only one with even a slight chance to make a difference in the war. They wanted Hawke to stop the mage and templar war. Now they have the civil war in Orlais and a demon attack. They don't need Hawke or the Warden in particular. They just need anyone who can possibly stop whatever hell is breaking loose. The Inquisitor just happened to be conveniently there.
