Hey lads since I am doing other stuff and can't find time or mood to complete this huge project, I am releasing as it is now in my override dir, lots of unused textures and wip stuff, all supposed to be in the tileset but not implemented yet.

So if you like, use it as it is, make an hak with it, expand it or grab the stuff or the ideas you want and do what you please with them!

Rolo: I made the account on the new vault, so if you like to move the file there to, do it!

Hey! I had that! <too slow, old man>

Gimmee! Gimmeegimmeegimmee! <catch me if you can, wizard!>

Edit: If you don't mind I'll associate it with the CTP as part of the unfinished series we have (Jungle, savannah, etc...)

Rolo, go for it, I am just happy to release as it is since Im not going to complete that at 99% :)

wall: it was supposed to be an exterior tileset, with my quadruple raise system at work could manage to quikly jump from cities and rural to mountain peaks, but as it is, its a mountain/rural, just a few buildings and its great feature its I did animesh the streams and water, just activate animloops and see what happens. there are also folders for addictional textures for other seasonal versions, and maybe some tree model here and there, as I said its not complete, but it works. am I going to clean it? no, so don't ask :) If you want, do it yourself!

Excellent material, as always, Sen!

Many thanks for finally making this available. Can't wait to start messing about with it!

The images on its thread always looked fascinating.

Hope to see you back to modelling some day - I've spent the last three days grappling one Creature model let alone the amount of stuff a Tileset requires. It does get daunting at times.

With Kali more or less finished, I've had the time to turn the Terria stuff into a Tileset Hak and have a good look at it.

I appreciate that there was doubtless much more you intended to do with this project, but just as it stands, it's fantastic.

The scope of terrain variation is really good, suggesting all sorts of interesting possibilities.

The watermill wheel did not turn when I placed it, so I examined the anim loops and found that not only could it be made to turn either way, but that the water in the stream FLOWED with it! And every other stream tile has anim loops and can thus FLOW either way. I was just working up some really good rabid foam in order to foam excitedly when I tentatively looked to see if the lake terrain had any anim loops... and it did... so you can make huge rivers that FLOW... round corners and everything!

Now, I think I've just about stopped foaming on myself.

Already altered the textures to fit in with my Demoness Tales rural palette plus I've done a Hak for a Wastelands of Hell version, a desert version and a winter one. I'll probably do a Weirdo Planar one too. This is going to be seriously useful.

Huge, Gojira-sized thanks again for sharing it.

PHOD: Do you have plans to release the basic version of this as a tileset hak? I'd be very grateful. I've been watching for this one to be turned into something I can use.

I wasn't planning to...

(Almost) everything needed to make this a working Tileset is in the material Sen provided. (Yesterday I found a Tile model with some bush things with missing textures that I need to apply a brick to, but otherwise it's all there.)

The set, after all, isn't mine - not that that's stopped me doing all sorts of bizarre reskins of stuff in the past, but as for more or less straight replication of someone else's stuff, I'm not sure.

I suppose, IF a basic Hak version of Terria is wanted and if Sen has no current plans to do so, there's no reason I can't post it, (once I've completely finished checking that no more textureless bushes are hiding in abstruse crevices).

However, I'd want to talk to Sen first, to make certain there was no objection. Then maybe I'd put up a Hak with Sen's textures, plus non-overriding versions for Desert and Winter which I've more or less got done.

I don't know exactly what Rolo's plans are for associating it with the CTP "unfinished projects". That might include putting an actual Hak together...

I'll ask a few searching questions, but I don't really want to go being proprietorial about someone else's stuff... unless they tell me to.

Okay, thanks, fair enough. I think someone who knows how to do it should do this otherwise if anyone uses it he or she will have to post a version anyway to share any modules using it. Better to have one published version.

I would have figured that was covered under "...use it as it is, make an hak with it, expand it or grab the stuff or the ideas you want and do what you please with them!"

I thought that too, but I still want to have an original author's direct and specific permission before making an initial release of their work, simple as that.

I now have it. Sen is more than happy for me to "do what I like", so I'll put together a Terria selection with the variants I've got finished plus his original, when I've got the answers to a couple of final questions I suddenly thought of. Should be up on the New Vault in the next week, depending when I have time to test that it all works right independently of my Demoness Tales Haks.

(PS:- Discovered that the "missing texture" was missing because I'd accidentally clobbered it with a massive brick whilst rooting out redundant textures from the set. Entirely my fault.)

It deserves to be - even "basic" as it stands, the terrain options allow for Areas I don't think any other NWN1 set will produce.

Irritatingly, stuff has come up that needs pouncing upon - I'll be away a couple of days. However, assuming I don't accidentally cast a "Become FruitBat" spell upon myself, I should still have Terria "up and running" (or would that be a terrier?) in less than the stated week. As Meaglyn so wisely pointed out, a single standard Hak version on the Vault makes sense, rather than everyone who uses it posting their own minutely altered versions... I'm dealing with it.

Trust me - I know what I'm doing.

Don't know how long I might be buried under stuffed Leopard Seals, etc - Trying to assemble all the Terria stuff, get it sorted and kill myself hideously in a desperate attempt to get it posted today, before I go forth into dusty museum stacks few white explorers have seen and from which almost nobody has ever returned alive...

That's where they keep all the flamethrowers and hilariously outdated dinosaur models, though

Bring us back a trilobite or picture of one.

Trilobites were a prehistoric arthropod that kind of look like giant aquatic woodlice. These guys!

Also known as the bane of my existance

Mecheon - What have you got against Trilobites all of a sudden? What have they ever done to you? How can they possibly be a bane of anybody's existence? Now, Ammonites on the other hand, that I could understand, even Belemnites... but Trilobites?!

And, yes, "Prometheus" was utter, utter, utter, utter GARBAGE... Probably could have used a few hundred more 'utters' there, actually.

Anyway, by the not at all fun expedient of hammering myself into oblivion with a massive brick, I have managed to get TERRIA on the Vault before vanishing into the probably Trilobite infested darkness...

13TerriaSEN.jpg

Here is what should be a link to the relevant thingy where you can point at screenshots and go "ooh" and "aah", or not if you'd prefer, and download Haks by sucking them off the webpage in a disgusting and unhygienic manner.

http://neverwinterva...od-s-e-n-terria

Fully documented with screenshots, you'll find no less than FIVE version of Terria - SEN's original, plus four debased PHoD weirdo things - Desert, Ice Wastes, Wildlands and, naturally, Hell.

I played Ecco the Dolphin. The game where "Trilobite" is equivalent to "Life seeking homing murder creature"

Mecheon - There I was thinking you worked in a museum cataloguing Trilobites by the million or something - I had to do a taxonomic classification of about two thousand Pacific Cone Shell specimens once. Interesting work and beautiful shells for all the lethality of the nematocysts of their inhabitants (no longer in these shells, I point out) but by the end of that I'd developed a few debilitating neurological reactions to even the slightest oblique mention of cone shells.

PS:- Why would the makers of Ecco The Dolphin assume Trilobites to be fanatical, murderous maniacs? Which, for the most part, they weren't. Unless you were, like, a worm or something... But then as the game makers apparently believe Dolphins to be in some way noble and pleasant, which they assuredly are not, it's hardly likely they'd be any more accurate with things that have been extinct for millions of years. Why do I even ask myself these things?

Hekatoncheires - Er... I don't know! Panic! Dribble! Fall over! Sorry. Currently away a lot, grappling an Andrewsarchus. (Always wanted to build one!) If I recall correctly the sort of Misty Hills Skybox was in a Hak on the Old Vault, I think calling itself the Community Skybox Project and I think compiled by chaos_theocrat, but I'm not at all sure of its original source or if that Hak's still around. Maybe someone else can enlighten you better. If not, and you really want it, I can post it somewhere for you...

I'll probably be back more after this month.

Same reason crabs and porcupine fish are more dangerous than sharks in the game, and there's an octopus roughly the size of a kraken. Trilobites use the same AI as porcupine fish, y'see.

Also the final boss, oh man, you of all people would love the final boss of Ecco. It basically goes a bit Geiger-esque by the end. I do hate to toot my own horn but I have a Lets Play on Youtube or Dailymotion somewhere. Please note part 15 may induce motion sickness as it was made before the days of decent game capture if you do intend to watch
