What do you think will be the most popular races?

I think it will go human > elf > qunari > dwarf. There are lots of people who like elves.
I think the percentage of players who play dwarves may actually go even lower this time, since the 80% of people who played humans in DAO isn't likely to drop much, and there's another race to further divide the remaining 20% of the pie with.
This will not stop dwarves being the best race and the one I'll play first

I think Human-Elf-Qunari-Dwarf.
But I'd guess it'll be close between Elf and Qunari. The elven body shape fits better with out ideas of female attractiveness than male, and there are going to be more male inquisitors than female, so that will help the Qunari.
On this forum, I think Qunari will beat Elves comfortably.

Human-Elf-Qunari-Dwarf of course in general
But for me it would go
Dwarf-Elf-Human-Qunari
I am not as excited to play a Qunari but I think once I see the Character Creator I will be.
Plus, I still plan on being one.

I honestly don't think qunari will be very popular. Maybe among DA fans, but not new players. Most will gravitate toward the familiar humans. Elves will take second place due to their promience in other fantasy works. Dwarves will come in third for similar reasons, but they are less "pretty" and have fewer class options.
Qunari are just too alien for most people.
Dwarves will be dead last.

Elves are cool!
Dwarves are the master race though. ![]()

I get why humans are the most popular, heck I would play a human more if I could adjust body size (fat, chunky, skinny). Elves are pretty and nice to look at, personally there not my cup of tea (I mean I will romance an elf but I hardly ever play as one). Qunari are epic and I might play as one first but idk yet. Dwarves have become my number one race. I know there just stocky and not "fat" but to me there sort of the big girls of DA, they actually have meet on there bones, not that humans don't but ya know. I relate to dwarves more in body size (even though I am 5'9) and personality, I am really down to earth. Plus dwarves like sigrun, dagna and varric just make me love dwarves more.

I can't help it. I have an ingrained hatred for elves stemming from TES. Bastards want to unmake the universe because they're too soft to deal with it. Kind of carried over to DA. Dark Elves are always cool though!

I predict that humans, specifically those that are male warriors, will be the most popular.

Humans -> Elves -> Qunari -> Dwarves is my guess.
Humans are the default of course. Elves are pretty to look at and still somewhat human-like so safe. Qunari are new, so I suspect because of that there will be some initial interest in them making them more popular despite looking even less human than Dwarves.
I'll probably actually go Qunari -> Dwarf (especially if Varric is an LI) -> Human -> Elf, though. If Varric isn't an LI I'll probably make a Human before a Dwarf.

i think humans will take a back seat to qunari this time
qunari>humans>dwarves>elves
lately been seein a lot of dwarven love in the forums, and not so much elf love.

I think the most popular race is going to Kossith, just because it is a new playable race.

Humans will win, hands down. Not because I want them to but because... meh. You know what I mean.
I second the former mentioned Opinion that Qunari will greatly Benefit from the usual "more male than female" Character Ratio - their males are pretty much the epitome of manliness as far I can imagine the Character Creator. So they will beat out the elves, whose females will be more popular than the more imposing Qunari Females. They just haven't this "Fanservice" Feeling written over them as originally expected.
I fear, despite my like of them, that Dwarves will be last again.

I think Elves will be more popular than Qunari. I think Dwarves will be more popular than they were in Origins, but maybe not more popular than Qunari. I could see it going either way, though. The Dwarf interest has really gained momentum.
Obviously humans will be the most popular, of course.

I pretty much agree with everyone else regarding what other people will do. My choice may be affected by what back story, if any, they give to the race. Personally I find it interesting playing other races.
I'm wanting to play an elf mage first but was a bit disappointed to discover that I am saddled with being Dalish. Now if I can play as a city elf apostate who only recently joined the Dalish, that's fine because it leaves more flexibility over role playing the character, but if I am meant to be long term Dalish and everyone is going to react to me as such (even if I have no tattoos that indicate as much), then I may revise my choice.
Conversely I am interested in the qunari simply because they are meant to be Vashoth and therefore I will not have to be saddled with being a devotee of the Qun, which would have put me off playing one.
The dwarves had an interesting back story in DAO. If there is an interesting background this time round I might well play one.
I only played human in DAO because of the noble origin, which opened up some really interesting role playing opportunities that hadn't been there for the other races. I had developed some ideas for a human character in DAI but the hints have been that they are a mercenary, which I would find rather boring as a springboard from which to develop my character. So human may well end up the last race that I play.

I know I will be playing mostly qunari.
Probaply elf is going to be second popular after human. I can see most of people starting with human, then trying out qunari and after that playing mostly with humans and elves. Dwarves in other hand seem to have loyal fanbase but this fanbase isn't very big.

From what I understand, some people really enjoy putting themselves in the game. So since they're human, they make a human copy of themselves and don't really role play. Which is why there's always going to be higher amount of humans in any game.
After that I could see it more along the lines of Qunari, Elf, Dwarf.
Qunari being the new and interesting race, totally different to the norm yet big macho creatures with muscles to spare, and badass horns. There's never really been the 'large muscular' race option in these games, so to have one will peek peoples interests to see how they roll. Certainly helps that lore reasons this is a race to be feared, rather than easily shoved aside taunted upon characters, they're badasses and scare people.
Then the elves, of course since they're close to humans yet have thinner builds you can get away with the 'conventually beautiful' with the pretty boys and the fair ladies. Or, er, like me who really hate the human models in Bioware games being much closer to a less macho muscle bags for males. People who like to play thin characters not piled in muscles.
At last while there are a number of Dwarf players, they're probably never going to be able to raise even close to the popularity of the other races. While there are people who popularize the dwarfs, and their is interesting lore with the dwarfs (IE the nobility aspect and how they have their own version of the Game) I doubt there will be many who will play one.

I am sure it will still be humans. Normally Humans and Elves vie for top spot in these fantasy RPGs. However, with the introduction of Qunari, I bet that will be a close second. I am still debating if I want to do my first playthrough with a Human inquisitor (My go to race for Fantasy is Human) or start off with Qunari since it is so new.

From highest to lowest + reasons to take/not take them:
Humans, because standard
Elves, because thanks to LOTR people consider them beautified Humans
Qunari, because new and shiny and/or they look scary
Dwarves, because they're short and stout
Apparantly I have a big inner hipster because my favorite races are exactly the other way around. xD

They might be slightly more popular as the Hobbit came out:
Like 7% of all players instead of just 5%.
I am almost tempted to play a dwarf. Almost.

Humans , elves , qunari , dwarves.
Humans because well..they are always the most popular.
Elves , they look like humans and are popular.
Qunari looks badass but are a bit alien looking.
And dwarves .Some people love them to death. Most people prefer not playing them.
Just my feelings , of course.
Yep, I'm pretty much predicting the same thing. Although maybe Qunari will be slightly above elves for some male players? For me personally, I'm loving Elves, Human, Qunari and then Dwarves. I could never get into the Dwarves they are the only race/origin story I never finished a playthrough with in Origins. I mean I tried...I just got bored and couldn't do it.
