2h Warrior is where it's at for me in both the DA games. Maybe I'm just a simple man, but I love the feeling I get out of wading into a group of enemies and beating the sense out of them. DA:O was especially fun for me because I was a Reaver+Champion, so I had a lot of ways to control my enemies while I worked on killing them. DA2's warrior was a lot of fun because of the increased mobility and the area effect that weapon attacks had. That really enhanced the playstyle for me.

I also really like rogues in both games. DA:O is fun because you can sneak into a room, set up traps, assassinate mages, steal treasure, pick locks, and disable traps. They're really tricky and you can really mess with the bad guys as a rogue, and I like that a lot. DA2 didn't have that as much but my DA2 archer assassin could nearly one shot some of the main story bosses, and could easily eliminate the most valuable enemy targets in a standard fight, so it was still a satisfying playstyle.

I haven't been able to play a mage very far in either game yet, and haven't enjoyed them because they just can't do any of that fun stuff that I love about the other classes. I think I could enjoy a mage if I really pushed myself to level one up, because then I could get all the fun CC spells. I think I'd enjoy that but it'd take so much effort to get there, whereas a warrior or rogue starts being fun immediately for me.

warrior in origins, mage in 2, although rogues are more too play with in 2, as they add more to the battle than just being a light armoured warrior in origins. on my first play through though i will be playing a sword and board warrior, and then a mage on my second playthrough

Not exactly, but I guess overall I would say warriors are my least favourite...there isn't exactly a big appeal to it for me.  Mages have well...their magic and a feeling of possible "extra involvement" in the game and rouges to me are just plain fun and the one I usually gravitate towards.

I like dual-wielding, whether warrior or rogue, but I never got into playing two-handed warrior. Too slow! Sword and shield is slightly better because it's satisfying to be able to knock people down all the time, but I still prefer the pace of dual-wielding to either of them.

Mages were cool in Origins, but I preferred to play them in DA2. Rogue is probably my favorite class for Origins, mage for DA2. Playing a rogue in DA2 was toooo frustrating because I felt like I had to slice and dice fifteen times as much to get half the damage... and don't get me started on archery. It's nice to open your own chests, but I'll just take Varric everywhere with me instead :)

Warrior. I can swing a sword in real life, why would I choose to do it in a fantasy game? This is the same (admittedly silly) logic that my brain rolls out whenever I try to enjoy a sci-fi game - surely if the weapons are technology-based, I can do this in real life?

All that said, I do sometimes play rogue. I can dagger fight in real life... but it's a lot more fun to fight with daggers compared to swords. You get in close and invade the opponent's personal space, then laugh when they fold into awkward shapes trying to hit you with their sword - which works poorly at close range. Or, if they have daggers too, it becomes a fast-paced dodging dance because both of you can quickly slip out of parries.

I don't enjoy rogues. If I want to melee I'll go Warrior, and If I want ranged I'll go Mage. If I need a lock picked, I've got Varric for that.

In Origins:

-Archery rogues were probably the most boring class/weapon type out of all of them. Sit, sling arrows, move away, hope you don't get hit, rinse and repeat. Given Origins' combat was incredibly slow, it made archery rogues a snooze fest

-Also didn't like mages pew-pew attack while having to wait for the spells to cool down.

(Actually, hated Origins' combat in general. Love the game itself, but the combat was so stale and there was way too much of it).

In DA2:

-I like most of the class types (including archery rogue) but my current run is a controller blood mage and I can't say it's been as enjoyable as a more hands on class (dual wield rogue, AoE mage, the warriors). Too much hanging back and letting the others do the dirty work...I like to be right in there smashing enemy skulls or freezing them with my staff.

Generally speaking I enjoy all three classes in games (warriors, rogues and mages) in general. My favorite would have to be the sneaky rogue, because there's nothing like backstabbing someone from the shadows. I also like warriors because I like melee combat in general, preferably the weapon and shield type (two handed weapons tend to be slow).

I've yet to finish DAO or DA II as Rogue. But I'm set on doing it, after finishing my CC/Nuker Mage DAO (together with Morrigan, Wynne and Leliana, god is that roflstomp on crack...).

I like best of all warriors, but I'm always peeved by the fact that SnS are depicted as defenders, whereas 2-handers as damage dealers. IRL it was actually the other way around.

I like all 3 classes but when i play a rogue i will always be an archer so my least favourite class would be a dual dagger wielding rogue.

From a pure combat gameplay perspective I don't have a class type that I dislike playing - they all have some interesting skills that it's usually fun to get used to playing with.

But in terms of story, I think it's more entertaining to think about the life of your mage, or how your rogue picked up their lockpicking skills than it is to imagine your warrior training with a sword, so from an RP perspective I'm least interested in the warriors.

Rogues.

I usually don't enjoy playing as one and I often don't even keep one in my party, unless an area has a high number of lockpicks with good loot.

Rogues.

I don't have the patience to sneak around disarming traps and back stabbing.

I usually just lower my head and charge!

Warrior Stylie!

Sword and Board Warrior, Heal and Buff Mage, Anxiety Rogue (Stealth, Distract, Impede, Etc..) I basically like to hit things hard, not do silly things like "be useful" or "contribute to the party."

I didn't like playing mages much in DAO, but I loved it in DA2. My main was a mage in DA2 and it will be again in DAI. I also didn't like the rogue much in DAO, but I loved it in DA2. It was my 2nd favorite playthrough. I loved playing warriors in DAO, but not so much in DA2.

Not really, even though I never played Dragon Age 2 as a mage, since picking the mage class means that the best character in the game (Bethany) will die.

Depends on the discipline being learned- if its a turtle style martial Sword and Board form, it is a tank. If it is a light shield form, you're totally right.

My first play through is always slash & bash warrior...I feel safest behind a shield I guess, I suck at combat lol  I *just* finished a DAO play through as a Mage and had to go Arcane Warrior, impossible for me to be truly ranged.  All I have let is an archer, and I'm dreading it, but I won't feel like a completionist if I don't play every class, and the archer is the only sub-class I've yet to play.  I expect to be deaded a lot...sighs

So, to answer the question, any ranged class is not a good fit for my dying, er fighting style.

In DA2, I found everything but mage dreadfully redundant and boring (and mage wasn't exactly amazing either).  However, in DAO, I found everything but two-handed weapon warrior to be fun.  I love playing as a variety of classes with different specializations and builds.  Hopefully, the potential for that will return more with DAI.

Originally it was Archery because it was terri-bad in Origins but then it was monstrously good in DA2 so...I like them all unless something changes the mechanics in DAI

Warriors.

Warriors are soooooo booooring.

My favorite in both games is Mage. Especially a Blood Mage/Spirit Healer combination.

Also, even though the specialization kind of sucks, nothing will ever compare to the joy of turning into a swarm of bee's with shapeshifter.

In DAO, I played as a rogue and mage more than as a warrior

In DA2 I played as a mage more than the others.

Warrior.  I prefer Rogue then Mage, Warrior last.
