im just wondering as i just thought, each class has 3 specializations, and the companions are all in lots of 3's; 3 warriors, 3 rogues, 3 mages. So... maybe im incorrect in thinking this, but would i be right to specualte that the specializations have to be taught to you like your first playthrough in origins, since that think about it; cassandra is a champion, varric is comes of as somewhat of an artificer with him wielding a high tech crossbow, vivienne could be a knight enchanter since shes well... a first enchanter.

 

It would make sense in this way i suppose, or maybe it will be like in 2 where u just pick your specs and dont have anyone teach you once there approval gets high enough, what do you all think?

One of the devs (Laidlaw I believe?) already answered a question in regards to how players learn specialisations. We don't learn them from companions and we don't gain them automatically whilst levelling. Perhaps tomes make a return, or maybe the specialisations are more directly tied into the story or unlocked through completion of certain goals or quests.

not unlikely to tbh, i prefer just being able to learn them as you level IMO it makes it easier as i remember playing origins the first time and wanting to spec in champion, but i couldnt do that as i need to have unlocked it through the story
