The answer is most likely no but I wanted to make sure. I've been hearing
about Mass Effect 2 which is supposed to be really good and I wanted to
try it out but I don't know if I have the system requirements to run
it. I print screen'd a picture of my system info and I saw a bunch of
numbers and symbols and I don't know what the hell any of them mean but
here they are:



And since I really doubt I have enough power on my PC, could I like
walk into Radio Shack or something and like buy some good graphic cards
or some ****? Or do I have to buy another computer?

Laptops have never been "easy" to upgrade, and when you start out without any video card at all, there has never been any way to upgrade the video. Sorry, it's part of why game devel9opers don't support laptops for better games.

no. Click on the "start" globe in the lower left of your desktop and type "dxdiag" in the text box at the bottom. When that opens up, there is a button at the bottom that allows you to export your system info to a TEXT file. Copy and past it here.

Damn dude...ME2 i suppose would be one way to get back into the PC gaming scene...a bit extreme, but meh.  Now, no, what you have supplied us still doesnt help much at all.  One thing that you can do though is download Belarc Advisor (I'm sure there is some DOS prompt that works more or less the same way, but i have always loved this program.).  It will find out and tell you every specific detail about your computer.  On that long display of stuff, you need to find the titles 'Display' and underneath that you will find a list of video cards (display adapters) and monitors that your computer uses: i would hazard a guess that you likely only have two; one monitor and one display adapter.  If you could just then copy/paste what it says next to display adapter, we should be able to help you from there.

Failing that, you need to find your video card box...but you probably dont have one, so i wouldnt know what to do beyond that..

Seriously, use dxdiag as hammer suggested. It's the easiest way.

Edit: I looked up your computer and if there is only one type of Inspiron 530s, this is what you have: Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3100 Dynamic Video Memory Technology 4.0





Integrated graphics are not good enough to run video games.

But just use Dxdiag anyway just to be sure.

Tom's Hardware is a good suggestion. Here's a link to their latest graphics cards roundup.

A word of advice: ATI and NVidia, for obvious anti-competitive reasons, don't clean up after their own drivers very well. This isn't generally a problem within the brand, but changing between them can be a pain because of what gets left behind. While it's a stupid thing to have to give into, I'm sensing that you aren't exactly a DIY type who would be up for mucking around with driver cleaners. So you may want to choose another ATI card to upgrade to, just to make sure it's a relatively painless upgrade on the software side of things.

Also, I don't know what size of case that Inspiron has, so you should be advised that some graphics cards can get pretty big. Given you don't want to spend too much, I imagine you won't be looking at the huge high-powered ones anyway, but it would still be good to confirm that the card is going to fit onto your mothboard without hitting your case or drive bays. I know some of Dell's cases can be pretty small - which is nice for fitting it into your room, but not so much for having room for upgrades.

It looks to me like the Radeon 4670 might not be a bad choice if you don't want to spend too much money. I can't guarantee it will give you all the graphical bells & whistles, but it'll certainly run it.

Dont forget those Dell's come with generic and underpowered PSU's. Will definitely need a new power supply for a newer card.

Personally, I always associate the word / name "Inspiron" with a Dell laptop, but the company's normal desktop cases that went by the name "Dimesion" had over-specified power supplies that showed ratings on their labels that were "low" considering the PSU units' quality level.  The tiny desktop cases that had the small and underpowered power supplies had some third name not Dimension or Inspiron. 

There was one such that had no room at all for any video card, which the other can only accept a half height card.  Finding a replacement power supply for the odd small types is potentially difficult enough that an entire new case is probably most simple.
