When was the last time you were this excited about a game?

Hmm, I'm not sure. This is definitely up there with the most pumped I've ever been, along with:
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura (Fallout 2 is my favorite game of all time, when I heard a game was making a "spiritual sequel I flipped out)
Halo 2
Baldurs Gate 2
The release of new Total War games (Rome, Medieval 2, Empire)
More recently I've been extremely excited for Dragon Age and Fallout 3, but not quite this excited because one is a new IP I didn't have any memories of and the other is a new developer.

Half-Life 2, Dragon Age maybe and, Fable 2, I suppose, because I soo much loved the first one. I'm not excited about ME2 though, but still, I'm looking forward to it.

Haven't been this excited ever, and that's even thinking about how excited I was for Half Life 2 Ep 2

I would say ME1, but it really came as a pleasant surprise to me (I knew it was a bioware game, but I didn't think it would be as good as it was). So yeah, right at this point, I've never been so psyched for a game.
edit - Now that I think about it, I would have to say I was about this excited when I was waiting on Shenmue II. I wanted to play it so bad that I got it imported for the dreamcast before it came to the original xbox...shame they didn't finish that series.

I don't recall ever being this excited for a game to the point of going totally cuckoo..lol. I was excited for Mass Effect 1 but after I played it and wanted more was when I awaited the release for 2 years. I was pretty excited for Gears of War 2 but still not as much as for this game.

Halo 2 midnight release. Just got a taste of the Halo Universe and was itching for more. Much like I feel now for Mass Effect 2. I've just had a taste of the Universe, and I want more.

Oh I have never ever been this excited for ANYTHING before. I didn't follow ME1 at all and it just sort of sprung up on me and became my favourite game of all time. I have been following the development of this game since its announcement practically. This will definitely be the longest week of my life!

Never for me. ME1 was what got me back into gaming but that was well after it's release. I've been gaming off an on since atari, N64, and NES. Never got into any one game that much, never bought a game on release date, much less pre-ordered! Got ME1 about 3 months after release. Was hooked. DA:O I got few weeks after release, sealed my fan-hood for Bioware (even though I thought game was too hard if you pick rogue for first play-thru, story was almost as good as ME1). ME2 is the only game I've every followed prior to release, & I've been watching since E3. Not only pre-ordered ME2, even bought new quad-core computer and graphics card just to have good experience. Basically, I'm excited enough about ME2 that I've shelled out almost $800!!!

Never I don't think. This really is truely the most excited I've been for a game, a sequel, to come out. I, like all of us, have been anticipating and wondering how this game would continue the minute the credits rolled in ME 1. But its been even more harder to wait for it in the past months. And now I can't even believe were already 3 days away from it.... Just surreal like..

I'm not excited, as I'm waiting for it to hit the budget-bin before I get it. The last few Bioware games whilst good, solid games have all been a disappointment to me.

I actually got SUPER excited for Fable II, i was on the forums pretty much everyday (much like I am now for ME2) but I don't think it was as intense as this. I was in a HUGE Fable jones at the time, and Fable II let me down quite a bit. Still a good game, just not at all what LionHead said it would be.
I have no fear for ME2, that is why i am going nuts right now. They don't promise something and then not deliver on it.
That coupled with all the amazing reviews it has gotten thus far has me pretty much doing cartwheels and licking the walls.
