In no relevant order: DA:O (PC), Persona 4 (PS2), Last Remnant (X360). I was also going nuts for Final Fantasy X back then and will for XIII (13 is my lucky number). Oh, and I threatened my parents with a hunger strike for Civilization 4 (PC). In general, I go crazy about games fairly often.

I have to admit that I was taken by surprise with Dragon Age:Origins.  I was expecting it to be a good game of course since it's from Bioware and Bioware is the new Squaresoft basically but I didn't think it would blow me away the way it did.

Mass Effect 2 on the other hand is having me squeal like a Japanese school girl.  I have huge expectations because of how good Mass Effect 1 was and because it's Bioware.

So, when was the last time you had such high anticipation for a game prior to it's release?

For me, I would say I have not been this excited since Final Fantasy VII and that was when I was a freshman in high school.

hmmmm gotta say the obvious is Mass Effect 1, was realy excited for that game and it delivered the goods.

Before that? Maybe Phantasmagoria 2, terrible game but part 1 was so perfect a story teller.

Fallout 3. And that game just blew so hard compared to the Fallout 1 & 2.

I was pretty amped for modern warfare 2.

Had I known about ME1 prior to its release, it would have probably been pretty highly anticipated for me.

But I have never been so pumped for a game as I am for ME2. The launch trailer put it over the top. I watched it for the first time and I legitimately had goosebumps for a few seconds. It is that epic.

Three cheers for anyone that played Phantasmagoria 1!!!

Half-Life 2, I was so excited about that months before release. The original ME was close, but only after it was released, since I didn't own a 360 at the time. ME1 was probably 50% or more of the reason i bought a 360.

Excited anticipation, I've never been this excited for a game, though I'm also highly looking forward to the new AvP game, but not as much as ME2.

Never. For me this is the first time that I have followed a game this closely during development. I was very excited about ME1 as well, but not nearly as much as I am for ME2.

^ This about sums it up for me.

I've had dreams about playing it lol.. it's BAD

hmmm... never actually

I mean I'm looking forward to StarCraft II, since before any plans where revealed, but it's 'just' a strategy game and I prefer the ones where you play one character alot more

looking back I did enjoy Diablo2 when I was playing it, but wasn't nearly as hyped beforehand

besides no one is actually stupid enough to 'wait' for a Blizzard game... they just happen ;)

Mass Effect I got only like end of October 2009, but it had me instantly hooked... this game is right up my alley and I'm glad I still have a few more playthroughs to complete or the waiting for ME2 would be unbearable indeed

that said, I can't express my gratitude that I can really import *my* character from ME1 (and I hope there won't be problems from UK-ME1 to DE-ME2 in english *fingers crossed*)

That's exactly why I pre-ordered an UK ME2. The German version... I ordered one as well, just in case. Image IPB

Your going to laugh, but I've been at this for a long time. I've also not been this excited about a game for a very long time. I have to go all the way back to 1981 or 82. I was 14 or 15 years old and bouncing off the walls waiting for the Atari 2600 version of Defender. It met all of my expectations.

Dragon Age. So not very long ago. Though I expect this to be a game I enjoy more, as I liked the original ME more than I liked DAO (which isn't to say I didn't love DAO.)

It was probably Modern Warfare 2 (multiplayer, I had zero interest in the singleplayer campaign). And last year also Uncharted 2 and Fallout 3.

This year ME2, Bad Company 2 and Gran Turismo 5 are the ones I'm currently most eager to get my hands on. Well, I guess there's a chance that GT5 could be delayed yet again of course - but I'm almost sure it will arrive no later than 2013 :P.

Kotor II, which was slightly dissapointing (still a good game though). Also, Forza Motorsport 3 and Empire: Total War somewhat.

At this same level of excitement, well that would be Dragon Age. Though I'm usually looking forward to something every couple of months.

I almost put my foot through the wall when they delayed Half Life 2 and when Day of Defeat: Source came out so late
