these past couple years, DAI reveals have been akin to Manga's I'd read that would get released bi-monthly. When they're released I go gaga goo goo crazy wazy but after awhile I completely forget about them only to go gaga goo goo crazy with every reveal xD So no, I'm loving the reveals. And I think it's good in a sense that they're giving us a better idea of what's gonna be in the game character wise and coming soon more gameplay stuff, so no excitement drain here!

I'm kind of drained in regards to story and character information.
I want to know more about the gameplay. I'd like to know how the crafting works, and how keep and agent management is handled. Unfortunately, a lot of people just want to hear more about which characters want to sleep with them and which of them don't.

I think I am losing excitement with romances. Having 8 is ridiculous (no offence guys) to me and it just makes me think they won't be anything but a couple flirts, one romance dialogue and a sex scene. I was worried about the amount we would get for that reason and now that's it is revealed to be 8, I am deflating. I am very critical when it comes to plot depth and character exposition and I don't think we can get the amount we got in previous games, even with this massive budget. The budget is shared with that awesome graphics work, combat system, animations, soundtrack, big name voice actors...
I mean it's great and I know BW are awesome for doing this but I guess I just focus on story/characters first and foremost. SORRY BEING A DEBBIE DOWNER I KNOW I HAVE IT PRE ORDERED IM PLAYING IT I KNOW ILL LOVE IT. Just a bit disappointed to have to temper my expectations in that regard.
Just a little.
That's natural though. My excitement levels tend to rise and fall over time, especially for games that I've followed for... two years now? You can't expect to maintain a high.

I have never been excited about DAI. I have been carefully expectant. Most of the information we're getting is good though, so I don't see any reason why I should be less expectant. ME3 has shown me how important aspects of the story can go to hell in a basket, and for that reason I remain careful, but I see no reason to be pessimistic. Quite the opposite, in fact, and I feel none of the trepidation I maybe should've paid more attention to before ME3 was released.

Who else feels like the more they release about DA:I the less interested you get in it?
I certainly feel this way. I had the same feeling before ME2 release, and it turned to be one of my least favorite games.

I don't think ME3 has much to do with DA. ME was written as a single story. And the lore seemed to be invented as they went along. Dragon Age was built as a fleshed out world first.. one that could contain many stories. Not just one.

My excitement for the romance totally dropped, I must admit, but mostly because of all the speculation, I have a headache.
I hope for the next game, they anounce all the LIs at once, even if It might mean they do it later.
I think it's finally better like that. because with DAO, I went totally blind and loved what I discovered with both leliana and Morrigan. With DAII, I had high expectations and It wasn't what I thought.
For the game overall, I'm good.

Now I'm probably going to come across as extremely negative, and that's not what I want to express.
Who else feels like the more they release about DA:I the less interested you get in it?
I can't point the blame on any one thing like characters, romance, or artstyle, namely because there is so much we don't know yet, but I cannot shake the feeling that this game isn't going to live up to the hope and hype that we've been building ever since DA2.
I started out really excited for this game, but as the announcements and reveals have been coming, it just seems less and less like what I had hoped it would be like. Perhaps this game just isn't going to be up my alley.
Who else has been feeling increasingly put off by the game?
Not really- but then I never got hyped. I'm honestly not even sure what this hype is supposed to be focused on.
I mean, I've seen various people get hyped about how all-powerful their Inquistion will be, unilaterally fixing their issues on Thedas through overwhelming force and power. Orlais will be thrown down, the Chantry sundered, the Mages freed and made equal members of society, the Dales liberated and made into a new nation of elven freedom and independence.
I've seen that, but it's always been self-hype, and often stupid self-hype of projection onto what Bioware has actually said and assuming many things it hasn't. These are the people who will be disappointed when their unbased power fantasies are not entertained- when they realize 'not answering to the Chantry' does not mean 'can avoid working with or outright opposing the Chantry' however the writers feel is necessary. People who have already pinned 'success' on a headcanon that may or may not even be possible.
That doesn't really apply to me. There's no narrative I'm particularly pinning my hopes on. There will be things I agree with, and things I don't, and that's about it.

Hm, I never thought about that, though they did say that the romances were going to have big story arcs. To be honest, I've played games with few romance options and the romance plot was forgettable at best. Time will tell!

Perhaps you should just go on a blackout until it is released and there are reviews.
I for one don't get less excited with info.

I think the game looks to be not just good, but excellent. I loved DA2, even more so, before I realized how much I was supposed to dislike it.
The combat felt good. It was more challenging than DA:O- seriously, DA:O combat was way too easy, and mages were so strong, you could just steam-roll Nightmare without thinking. Mana Clash in particular was the worst designed skill I've ever come across in any computer game. DA2 combat was fun on Nightmare (partially because of their infamous wave design, which on the good side, prevented effortless AOE wipes), especially once they patched some obvious problems.
DA2 had an excellent story and I wasn't particularly put off by 'unrealism' (recycled caves, combat wave spawning), so I loved the game, notwithstanding it was a shoddy effort with no time at all. This time around they have all the time, and I'm confident they'll use it well.
One thing I agree with though, was they shouldn't have spoiled companions and especially romances. I also disagree with the degree to which romances (optional non-canon interactions with NPCs) are being treated as central features of the game. It just makes the whole thing feel a lot more mechanical than it needs to.

Don't like a single companion, don't like a single advisor. Everybody is a self righteous moron, every single one. Everybody fight for the "greater good", for law and order. No free souls. It just points out to me that I wont be able to role play the inquisitor the way I want to role play as well.
Maybe don't play, and just say the world got destroyed in your absence. The Inquisition never formed, the tears never closed, and Dragon Age swallowed everyone whole. That works, right? ![]()

I will play because I love dragon age universe, and I want to explore that more. Even if that means playing a character who's morals and stance I don't agree with.

I've been on the other side in this matter. Since DA2 and ME3 I have been very skeptical if Bioware can still pull off a great cRPG. I've been worried if they have lost their golden touch.
While I will not know this until the game is launched I am getting the feeling that DA:I will be one of the best Bioware games in years.

Good. I don't want to see anyone quit (not just yet).
Was just trying to make you see how lousy that would be. ![]()

Well I haven't been hyped since the last time they put out a trailer. I don't really care about all this info drip about the companions and their hobbies and who they're willing to bang. I can experience the story when it comes out. I'm waiting for more in depth gameplay demos.

I don't think DA2's cast was anywhere near DA:O, but I also think part of that was how easy it was to miss out on banter/conversations because they were all in their own homes. I know I missed a lot my first 2 or 3 playthroughs of DA2. I also wonder why most of the interesting characters in DA are males. Outside of Morrigan (as fara s companions go), none of the females interest me. I have the most hope for Josephine in this game, but the Bull, Dorian, Solas, and Cole are all interesting as far as what we know about them. A Qunari that questions the Qun, but hasn't decided to leave it behind or to renew his faith. Solas knows more about the fade than anyone we've met in games before, so we stand a great chance to learn more about the world from him. Cole is just intriguing if you've read Asunder. Dorian will let us know more about Tevinter, and see the Magister's from an angle different than Fenris' brooding "I chose this life but forgot and I'm still super pissed about it" bias.

I'm glad I'm not as excited as I was 2 or 3 weeks ago, when I started paying attention to this game. That would've been unbearable. I'm still pretty excited, though! Companions have been a mixed bag every game, but more than enough seem to have potential (for me) and I'm always pleasantly surprised by someone. Perhaps I'm too easy to please. I not only liked Dragon Age 2, but Mass Effect 3's ending.
I am trying to ignore all the things the devs are saying about this being a big game. Like... it's nice that the area they're showcasing in the demo is bigger than all of Origins. But also, that actually sounds horrible and unappealing (to me). I like open-world games. I never finish them, or even get close to doing so. Yes, I know the world isn't as big as Skyrim or whatever. Thank God.

And my hopes for the game beyond the characters are even less, the story seems to be shaping up as a generic save the world deal, just substitute Veil Tears for the Blight. My confidence in BioWare's ability to make a solid RoG were smashed after ME3 and DA2
This makes no sense at all, as Mark and Mike have gone out of their way to spoil the story:
Again, they've gone out of their way to say this. I'm not sure how anyone can have kept up with the news and missed this. And, the implications it has on the story make the story anything but a "generic save the world deal."

Excitement levels for any kind of entertainment become low for me. I suppose it's with information being so readily available these days, that it seems I've watched every movie read each book, or played all games before any of them have come out. I still love all of the above but it's hard too have anything surprise you these days, cause you already know so much before you've consumed it.
