What's wrong with Sebastian?
I don't know where to start..
Please tell me. I really like the character, I would like to know why you dislike him?
I hated Sebastian but his DLC was very interesting, also he was interesting as a character despite being annoying as hell.
I have to admit my excitement level dropped significantly over the last few weeks. I think it's because of the characters which is strange because I usually adore Bioware characters, but this particular group (apart from one or two) just doesn't get me excited at all.
I find it hard to take the start of The Last Straw seriously with Sebastian installed. I felt like I was watching an episode of Whose Line Is It Anyway.
Please tell me. I really like the character, I would like to know why you dislike him?

Hell no OP
I'm more excited now than I ever was
Compared to this game DA 2 looks (at best) like an Addon
We have huge areas to explore (not the same dungeon over and over again)
We Have this awesome Organisation to command and we will make hard choices regarding
various conflicts (which are spread over Thedas not just boring Kirkwall)
We have beautiful graphics (thanks to Frostbite) and the gameplay looks superb (a mix between DA:O and DA 2)
... and many more things
So I have no idea what hype or expectations you had (probably just crazy ones)
and frankly I don't like this kind of negative threads if its unwarrented (you haven't even played the game)
I'm not sure what your intention was by creating this thread ( hopefully not to spread the negativity once again in this forum)
A person that doesn't know what to do with his life. A hypocrite that judges others peoples lifestyle, even when he was in their shoes not so long ago, and when they respect their own lifestyle and don't have a problem with it. Overly preachy and self righteous. Cant set priorities in his goals, and will have people that have nothing to do with his issues suffer. Also don't agree with his general outlook on life and attitude towards magic.
I agree with all that, but that just amounts to him being a companion you don;t agree with, DA2 had at least 2 other who provoked the same reaction. It doesn't prevent you from playing the dlc, which being day 1 dlc had some of the polish the game itself didn't.
When news comes out I get really excited. Mostly because I'm either at work or napping and I miss it. I have something to come home or wake up to.
When I start seeing 'leaked' stuff I'll have to distance myself from the internet until the night before release.

I liked him but then if you take him along in MOTA, he makes some super racist comments.
Completely the opposite , more Information / Video's that are released, the more I cannot wait for the game to be released.
I don't see only "self-righteous morons", unless by that you mean "actually having an opinion on things, and one that doesn't match your preferences". Also, when the whole world is going to hell, it sort of makes sense to fight to preserve it, even for a free soul (I perceive Solas to be one of those). Just like anyone who doesn't fight the Reapers in ME3 is not a free soul but a moron, possibly even of the self-righteous kind.Don't like a single companion, don't like a single advisor. Everybody is a self righteous moron, every single one. Everybody fight for the "greater good", for law and order. No free souls. It just points out to me that I wont be able to role play the inquisitor the way I want to role play as well.
its normal, its like having sex its awesome before u do it all the foreplay and anticipation .... nom nom
then when u do it its nice and all that, some parts are just pure effort but you get through it....
and when ur done u start to feel MEHHHHH ![]()
thats why u should take your time and dont get all worked up at the start
I also wonder why most of the interesting characters in DA are males. Outside of Morrigan (as fara s companions go), none of the females interest me.
This is the opposite for me. I find the ladies to be infinitely more intriguing with each one feeliing like unique, and fun characters. The guys are more or less meh with the exception of Solas. I fully expect to change my mind once I play the game. But it's ultimately about personal taste.
I'm still looking foward to it but I don't have a preconceived notion of how I will play or what companions I will like or not. I tend not to do headcanon runs before I start playing the game or presume that the game is going to be how I want it to be like. I also keep my hype to a minimum, though I am excited to play it and will most likely enjoy playing it since everything I've seen so far I like. Only thing I'm worried about is that the fighting might be very difficult and I will die a lot.

Apart from that, there are people like Vivienne who are very much concerned with their own affairs. That *was* what you wanted, didn't you? Or do you rate her a "self-righteous moron" because she may not see the bigger picture? Then it appears they can't win with you: see the greater picture, and you're despised because you fight for the greater good, don't see it, you're despised for not seeing it.
I am just a pretty selfish person in nature and I want some selfish people in my party to bond with or that won't preach to me, and won't get in my way.
I want companions that are in the thing for themselves. Have their own personal motivation. Maybe they get payed, maybe they want to reveal some secrets about the demons, maybe they want to acquire some power out of the whole thing, maybe they just love to fight and are in it for fun, or maybe they are just my friends and want to help out.
Here are some companions that I really liked from some games:
DA:O:
Morrigan. She is in the whole thing for herself, she has a plan about the ritual that she wants to pull off, and she doesn't care about what I do too much. She gets turned off only by actions that she thinks are a chore for no good reason, or if the player preaches to her about how bad of a person she is. We can agree on life philosophy and become friends, but there is nothing that you can really do that doesn't involve her personally that would ****** her off greatly.
Mass Effect:
Zaeed. The guy is simple, he wants some money, he doesn't care what I do, or how I do it, unless it involves him personally, like his revenge. I can like him, and I can chat with him, or we can ignore each other, he doesn't care.
Morinth. She is in because I helped her get rid of her Mother so she wants to return the favor and help out, and hopes that maybe we can bang.
Neverwinter Nights 2:
Bishop. Has a personal debt that he pays off by helping out on my quest. Again no hard feeling about any of my actions, we both mind out own business.
Qara. One of my favorite companions of all time. Was on the whole quest for me as a friend ( maybe something more if you had some mods ). She started out by owing a debt, and then we became closer. We agreed on many things about life, we became friends, and when she had problems with her previous academy students and tutors, I stood by her side and we slaughtered half of the academy. Then she was way past the debt and was on the whole journey just because I was her friend and she wanted to help out, and because she likes to set things on fire.
With her it was like, if I see a peasant and give him some money, she can be like: ''Whatevs, good for you.'' If I beat the peasant to death with a stick for fun instead, she can go: ''Lol, sure that works too.''
Where are these kind of companions for me in Inquisition? If I see for example a bunch of peasants being attacked and I can save them pretty easily, but there is nothing to be gained by saving them other than their gratitude and saving their lives, if I choose to ignore them and walk by just because I couldn't care less. Who is going to agree with me or not care as I do? Who is not going to get upset and is not going to preach to me? Name one companion.
The whole Inquisition cast is like: ''For the greater good!'' ''Evil shall not prevail!'' ''For honor and glory!'' ''For law and order!''.
Just ![]()
I mean they are not so blatant about it, they can be sarcastic and funny and smart, but their core ideas, motivations are just that.
Edit: Just some more honorable mentions of nice companions:
Kotor: HK, Canderous.
Jade Empire: Whirlwind, Sagacious Zu.
Oh and btw, last but not Least. Vivienne really doesn't see the bigger picture. Because if she wants real power, she better be working for Tevinter way of life, rather than supporting the chantry. Honestly, a mage of her talent is very well suited to play the game even in Tevinter itself, she could move. That's my opinion.
Not me. Polar opposite. The more they release the more excited I get, which sucks, because October 10th (the day it comes out in NZ) also happens to be exactly the day my end of year exams start.
Preorder put on hold for longer.
Just delete the end of year exams and play DA:I
Seriously though, yeah that is a pain.
