Alistair is officially elf-blooded.

If you read DA:the calling, you find out King Maric slept with a female elven mage named Fiona. This produced a child born in the same year Alistair was born. This confirms that child is Alistair. Also, he is half Orlesian.

Glad the argument can be put to rest.  Always found it to be a rather silly one.  It was about as obvious as it could be without outright spelling his name on the page.

The dragon blood and elf heritage are stupid additions to his character that make me feel a lot less sympathy towards Gaider when people say that he writes Mary Sues.

I'm personally more hoping Fiona dies in the beginning, and its more of something you can find out if you read between the lines than something that's actually ever brought up.

I'm personally more hoping Fiona dies in the beginning, and its more of something you can find out if you read between the lines than something that's actually ever brought up.

I'm hoping Fiona survives and it gets brought up directly.

 

If Fiona turns out to be the secret romance option... well, then, my game will be sublimely complete.

As much of an Alistair fangirl as I may be, he definitely has that whole "author's pet" vibe to him now. The Dragon blood thing was a bit.. out there tbh.

Funny, if any of our video game PCs end up settling down and having kids, won't the children also have parents that are this whatever super person with that special power and ability that has forged legends as they did whatever it was they did?

no wonder i've never liked him... in all my DA:O playthroughs i've chosen to leave him unhardened and spared Loghain so he would leave and become a drunk.

 

He's Fereldan, Orlesian, Dragon-blooded, Elf-blooded... what else? is there some Kossith/Qunari mixed in there as well? maybe a splash of Andraste's blood?
