We don't know how long it takes to raise an undead army. Considering that it was mostly the demon inside him at work we can't really take his mage experience into account. Also, it's a huge gamble. Would you leave a child alone with a rabid dog for a few hours on an educated guess about how long it would take to gear up another attack?
So this debate on Alistair is finally over.(The Calling spoiler)

Uh, not everyone let him out of his cell. Who's being arrogant now?
I didn't mean that. I meant he can stun people with his blood magic and run like he did at the circle. Or mind control a guard to open the cell.

Please, anyone no matter what background can have second thoughts about keeping the Anvil. It blood magic powered by genocide. Any person with empathy would consider not keeping it.
That is the best chance a dying city has of surviving. Blood magic powered (it was compared to blood magic, it's powered by lyrium)? And aren't you the one who suggested using Jowan's blood magic ritual despite him being the person responsible for all the chaos in Redcliffe two posts ago? LOL.

The issue with Conner was his ignorance not the lack of control of him. Remember he has to raise his army and that takes time. regardless to that their other alternatives on hand that allows him to live.
But since he'd already gone and gotten himself possessed once, are we really doing any favors trying to keep him alive? I'd think the templars would be very likely to execute him or make him tranquil, given his history (and they will find out). And yes, raising an undead army does take some time, so it'd be insane to allow him to have that time.

A dog can move at an instant. A mage needs time to make an undead army and people can collect and burn the dead before he can do it.

Okay?To be fair, Elizabeth II has many, many, many more titles than that, but there again, her predecessors have had almost two millennia to amass such a collection.

Well, you need corpses, and with the initial undead army wiped out, it won't be nearly as easy to accumulate new ones; I assume most of them were gathered from noncombatant castle staff.
That said, I'd have appreciated an option to tell the rest of my party to stay at the castle to keep an eye on Connor.

Now your making stuff up. I doubt in world with magic everywhere the Redcliffe guard would lock a maleficar up without taking the proper precautions.

Either way you are playing Russian roulette with people's lives for one possessed boy who only has a future of tranquility waiting for him.

1.The best chance for that dying city is to use it populace to fight back and fight it's self with political games and classicism. The issue of that city is they need to change how they do thing not cling to the old ways. The fact that they don't even use castless to fight in their armies show how far their head in in their backsides.
2. And I pointed out he can run at anytime. The fact he stayed says something.

LOL. The only character that should have second thoughts about keeping the Anvil is a Casteless Dwarf. It shouldn't matter to every other origin except for the Dwarf Noble who should want to preserve it no matter what.
Not true. The city elf and mages come from backgrounds of systematic oppression too. When Cairidin mentioned the abuse of power, how society's undesirables were forced under the hammer, "criminals and casteless," my Warden's blood ran cold. It's no different from how elves would be treated. And of course mages are forced to live in the Circle, forced to put through a life-risking Harrowing, and are slaughtered if they fail their test. Not to mention how commonly they're forced into being made Tranquil (being stripped of their emotions and dreams) if they're deemed too weak to even try.
Just because the Warden isn't personally a casteless dwarf doesn't mean he or she can't come from a background of oppression, see firsthand how those in power routinely abuse others with it, or empathize with those that would most likely be forced on the receiving end of the hammer's magic and not the giving end.

He'll never be trusted to past any sort of test in the circle. If anything, killing him off is more of a mercy kill. Unless you consider living as a tranquil living.

I'll give you that. Dwarf Noble and Human Noble should be convinced to destroy it. Maybe the Dalish. City Elves, Mages, and Casteless would want to destroy it.

Wards bro. Wards. It's that simple. Keep a warded cell or two in your dungeon. I'd think that's a pretty reasonable assumption in a world where magic is vilified.

What on earth says that. That's up to the circle to decide and last time I checked he already past his harrowing. Seriously that is a baseless excuse.

He might as well have -- I was mocking the fact that he's generally carrying lots of positive traits without any larger negative ones to balance things out. So yeah, I was mocking him but I don't reallysee how your comment was relevant at all, so there. It was joke played at Alistair's expense.Oh, you seemed to be suggesting Alistair had too many titles and were mocking it/

Wards need mages to make them....Where is this mage? Where in Radcliffe do they have other mages?

No man. Think about the door in the Circle's basement. It was built into the door. The same goes for a warded cell.

An elf and orlesian blood sits on the Fereldan Throne? Blasphemy! Loghain was right, Orelasians are trying to take over.
Also I'm a bit sad one of my favourite character is the son of one of my least favourite characters. Fiona is so annoying.
