A race you don't like playing as?

I also avoid playing a human when possible, because I'm a human in real life.

Dwarves. Not sure why.
I like playing as Human, at least on my first play through. Its more immersible, as I happen to be Human, and not an Elf or Qunari.
Second play through will surely be Qunari mage.

I've only played as a human but I'm not against playing an elf. If the character's looks and backstory work for me, I'll do it. Qunari and dwarf don't appeal to me, however.

Dwarves. I don't know, they're ... So small. With beard. And they live underground. Then humans, because they are so normal.

Not really into playing dwarfs because I love magic.

well, not really...
I like dwarfs less (compared to the other races) because they can't be mages...In a world of magic not wanting to be one is strange to me (the possibilities with it are endless...Avernus like long live anyone?)
And elfs are not my faves either, because of the stigma (second...hell third or fourth class citizenship...it's not something I desire (exception: The Dalish...have my problems with them, too - but at least they didn't accept this treatment...I'd rather stagnate and cling to old glory than become a doormat for the humans!)...I love their culture, but gamewise I prefer not being looked down upon and having to prove my worth all over again in the eyes of the humans time and time again!)

I don't like qunari and I'm not sure I'll ever get around to making one.

Like a lot of people seem to be saying, I end up playing dwarves the least. My created-character tropes always tend to be elegant, poised and "delicately" pretty types of characters in video games. ("Delicately" being apparently so. They can easily cut your head off.) While dwarves can be all of these things, it's easier for me to imagine these types of characters with a human noble storyline, or a dalish elf background. It's sort of like, if we could play a Mass Effect: Origins type of game, I would much rather play as an Asari than a Krogan, as much as I love the Krogan.

Human. If a game gives you the choice to be something that you arn't 24/7 then why not? Plus I see more roleplay opportunities with other races in DA, the human option is just too safe.
I like all the other races equally.

Another vote for dwarves here ![]()
They're just too short for my taste and I really don't like all my companions towering over me. They had really cool origins in DAO but once you get out of Orzammar and everyone is taller, I just couldn't play anymore.
I always start with a human PC but in later playthroughs I also play as an elf. For DAI I plan to try a qunari eventually, just not for my first playthrough.

Wow, all the "short is ew" comments make me and Peter Dinklage feel awesome. (Granted, 5'1" is only a few inches below average, but the point still works.) *puts on that Randy Newman song that was being joked about earlier*
Dwarves are the anti-Mary-Sues. No person who likes writing them would choose a female dwarf, because every Mary Sue wants to be either petite and lithe or tall and willowy, if not Barbie-esque. Granted, you could make a similar case for qunari because of the horns, but at least they can be tall, leggy, and sort of willowy. Dwarves can't.
But Jared Padalecki married a short chick. Kristen Bell is a short chick. So's Melissa Rauch. So's Emily Browning. I could go on. Short can be adorable. More people should give short a chance!
Maybe short people are just what Aimo says: fun-sized, baby.

I think part of the problem with dwarves is that they play the dwarf stereotype without a lot of twisting. They're drinkers, they have beards and they live underground.
Now, I think twisting that is fun, but in the backstory, you can't twist it much, unfortunately.
Brosca forever, though!

The dwarven Inquisitor is a surface-drawf. He is not from the underground, drink less and less beard... if you wish....

I think there is a really big visual difference (IMO) between male and female dwarves. I can only play a female dwarf, because of the general aesthetic of male dwarves (the beard thing, especially, but also the shape of their faces).

Another for Dwarves, i did play through DA:O as a dwarf a few times in my later playthroughs though. I just have a personal hang up about the little dwarf ordering around the humans and Qunari... i don't even know why, since there has been very short leaders on the battlefield in reality... it just looks and feels odd to me.
Human. Im already human in real life. Why would I be that in a world where I can be anything?
I am actually a Qunari in real life, and find playing as one more immersive.

Yup, and they still are, but not including Varric--thus obviously not because they're short, which was the point. And Peter Dinklage is still the bomb. It's just the average DAO dwarf, really.
