Elf, I love every follower elf, but I don't like playing one. I'm fine with a half elf (my preferred race of choice that doesn't exactly exist in this game) but not elves. Ironically I played a Dalish Warden, I enjoyed making it that he didn't share the same values as his kin, but I'm not fond of the Dalish...
A race you don't like playing as?

humans(always in the games when i have option to not play as ones)
in DA, especially those andrastians who belive in Orlais Chantry version of Chant of light and i would never even consideate to try to play as Orlais, Starheven and Antivans no matter what

Elves and humans. If I had to choose one to never play, it would be elves.
I loved dwarves very much in DAO, the use of geometric shapes in their armour deatiling and the architecture of Orzammar is amazing and I loved reading up the codex entries on castes, views, culture.
I imagine I will find much the same with the qunari in DAI. I'd probably be more interested in the qunari rather than dwarf in DAI since the dwarves are confirmed to be surfacers (less awesome dwarven lore available probably) but there's that sense of novelty, trying something new.

I didn't like playing a dwarf in DAO because the body models were too realistic for my taste. I just disliked seeing my heroic Brosca able to slay broodmothers and dragons, but unable to lose 30 pounds. A little too much immersion for me.

Dwarves, but I do admit that the Origins backgrounds were somewhat interesting and of course Varric ( I liked Oghren too) is the best Dwarf ever.

First Dwarves
Second Quanari
Human is always my first choice, second is Elf.

I'm with the "humans are boring" camp, when I have the choice. I'll still play one human playthrough (after I've played as everything else, that is), but mostly just to see all the different NPC reactions / different dialogue options.

Dwarf even though I did 2 playthroughs in DAO as one.

Human, in most games you're forced to be a human, so if I'm given other options I'm going to take them.Besides I can just look in the mirror if I want to see a human ![]()

First of all I would like you dwarf haters to know that dwarves are my favorite race to play as and they have the best warriors and smiths.
With that being said I will eventually try out all the races. Having played dwarves, elves, and humans in DAO I didn't have a problem with playing as any of them. Jury is out on whether or not I will enjoy playing as a qunari but I won't be able to honestly answer that question until I try playing as one. So I am going to do at least one run as a Qunari.

Put me also in the Humans are boring camp. I am in a similar vain on the elves, and I just find the elves in DA fugly.
I can understand those that don't want to play as dwarves because of a lack of magic, but the other reasons are the same reasons we have issues IRL with self loathing over our images and we have skin and bones models that people think are gorgeous.
I will be playing as a Qunari first then a Dwarf, ... then we will see if there are racegated romances that I want to try or not.

well, I agree with majority here - humans are boooring *yawn*
I like to play Dalish elf, because I can hate them as much as I please XD it's refreshing ... and relaxing ... and is a nice stress relief (just like killing darkspawns!)
qunari could be interesting to roleplay, but since Inquisitor is vashoth ... I'm not so sure

Probably Humans or Dwarves. Im suprised that so many dislike the Qunari though. I think it'll be pretty cool to play as one.

When it comes to fantasy in general, I'm not a big fan of playing humans.
Don't think I've ever brought a human character to the d&d table. Played an imperial in Skyrim once, out of a dozen or so characters.
Dragon age is something of an exception, but that had more to do with the story for the human noble in DAO appealing to me more than the others.
I am planning two human playthroughs in DAI, but they'll come after my qunari playthroughs.

Dwarves, because I'm short and I see no appeal in being shorter.

Dwarfs. I also dislike playing as a human, but I can tolerate it a lot more than dwarf.

Dwarf
I don't want to play a character with a very short and stocky build, and with a culture heavily focused on mining/money/drinking. Not that those things mean anything remotely bad to me, I just can't relate to it enough for me to feel invested in playing a character of that nature.
Qunari
Not into giant and stocky builds either lol, and I don't care about the Qun. I'm someone who's nonreligious, and also bothered by strict social structures and intense affiliations with social codes, so the place the Qun has in Qunari society is unappealing to me.

Elves. As much as I love Elven characters, enjoy that we've got two very seperate cultures in the Dalish and Alienage Elves and have fond memories of my utter fail first ever playthrough as a City Elf, I can never find myself playing one for very long in Origins and have yet to complete an Elven playthrough in it's entirety.
For me, the Dalish Origin doesn't really get any payoff until Witch Hunt, DA2 and the novels unlike the others, so I find myself to be less invested, while the City Elf storyline is just so depressing (in some ways, more than the Human Noble family massacre), particularly when you come back and find that since you've been gone things have gotten even worse for your people.
While I've still not finished my Dwarven playthroughs either, I still find them probably one of the most interesting races in the entire setting (after Qunari) and really wish that they could get more love from Bioware. Seriously, give us a female dwarf companion and a dwarven romance already!

Dwarves, Qunari and Elves. I like most non-human companions, but I can't play as one. I'm human, it feels more naturally when I play as human.

Like I mentioned before I enjoy all races, but the one I'm less inclined to play are the elves as they're my lesser enjoyed so to speak. I support them in-game but like in most other series I never use them, I find them hard to connect with and seem to have a history heavily influenced by magic which my lesser liked class and interest. I love illusion and stuff, but all the fiery lasers and such I see as a weakness.
