In DA:O, I didn't like both Dwarves and Elves, simply because they do not look intimidating at all!
Dwarf Noble was the best Origin Story in my opinion, followed by City Elf. However, the former is comically short and chubby, while the latter looks like a teenager.
I've tried playing Male Elf characters several times, but they always looked like a mere boy next to humans. Had they had beards and a non-ectomorph build, it could have been different. Therefore I ended up using humans on every full playthrough except for one Female Elf mage.
In DA2 Elves look even worse. I hope in DA:I they were able make Elves and Dwarves somewhat more badass. Otherwise I will stick to Qunari and Humans.

Dwarf. Too short and chubby for my taste.

I don't have a problem with any of them. I do make it a point to not play humans in games that let me choose (except for one HN in DA:O). Mainly because I'm human and I like being something different. So I guess I like human the least. But at the end of the day I'm cool with all of them.

I do not understand why many consider the human race boring, isthe story that counts, not the fact that we too are human in the real life. Humans of dragon age have little in common with us, so I do not understand why as motivation many have said about humans "they are boring because we are already human in real life" does not make sense to me.for example I do not like elves because they have been designed until now with the eclipse engine, and do not represent the beauty of the elven people, for example, the lord of the rings, those are real elves.
Humans I find - boring is the wrong word - less appealing, because they're the default setting in so many games. A good chunk of RPGs I'm going to play a human whether I like it or not, so give me a choice and I'll start looking at the other options first. Now give me a race unique to the setting and then I'm a happy bunny.
Anyway, this is what don't I like playing, so having said all that it's dwarves. Humans are just been there, done that, own a whole rainbow of t-shirts. Dwarves however are too bloody short and show no signs of getting any taller. Petty, but true.

Any race aside from humans. It's very rare for me to play anything besides humans in any game.

Humans.
Too mainstream.
I like to play a hipster dwarf with an iguana and a bubble pipe.

In general, I only play a human or elf (and sometimes a half-elf when presented the option). I'm not fond of (playing) hulking characters, or short ones, but I'm still deciding on if I'll play as a dwarf or Qunari. Admittedly, I've only ever played dwarves in one instance, and that was due to Dragon Age: Origins. They had a conniving political side you don't normally see in dwarves, and I'm an avid lover of political intrigue. If Varric is a love interest, I'll have a Lady Cadash.
I couldn't play as a male Draenei or Tauren in WoW, so I doubt I'll play a male Qunari. I loved my female Draenei, though, so I might take on a female Qunari as well.
For now, however, I'm only planning on a male and female human, and a male elf.

For some strange reason, I've always had a problem playing as an elf.
I simply like dwarves better. I can play as a human without any issues, and a dwarf without a second thought, but playing as an elf for some strange reason bugs me. I can't put my finger on it, and I'm sure that there is absolutely no logical reason why, but I have a hard time playing as an elf.

Humans in RPG games are DIFFERENT than Humans in real life. There are no mages or rogues in real life.
I wish there were. ![]()

I've liked all main 3 in DAO, but not a fan of Qunari in general (not just their religion). I generally hate roided out races, not to mention anything too animal like (in this case, it's bovine). Maybe they conjure up something more hardcore for others, but to me it screams "furry". lol

Its trendy and popular to hate on anything human when it comes to games.

Qunari. I hate them, their brainwashing religion, their "principles", their warmongering nature and everything they stand for.

Luckily you'll only be able to play one who was never part of the Qun anyway.

Dwarves don't interest me, and humans seem so vanilla.
I'll be giving both a go in Inquisition, maybe my mind will change.
Granted, both human playthroughs will be rping my OCs,
so it's a little different.
