Dwarves can't cast spells, Mage is my favourite class.

Qunari I find hard to relate to.

It's unlikely I will play as qunari. I have no interest in it and don't really see much point absent devotion to the Qun.
I probably won't play elf either. They're just going to look like something else in the next game anyway.

Human.
I already have one as my canon playthrough because I had to in DA2. Don't see any reason to play one again.

Dwarf is easily my least favorite race to play. There's just something about them, and this is despite Varric being one of my favorite characters. I'm not a huge fan of being an elf, but it's fun to be one to roleplay a murderous fantasy psycho that is taking all of his hate out on the shemlin world, but with dwarves...I just can't get into it.

Dwarf. Definitely. I played through both dwarven origins in Dragon Age, but never made it past Ostagar. If Varric is a romance option, I might play one in DAI. We'll see. I don't mind playing an elf, but honestly, I thought the CC for elves atrocious in DA and only made a couple I was happy with.

Dwarves. I think they have really, really cool lore, I just don't like the aesthetic. It doesn't work for me. Which killed me in DA:O, because I think Dwarf Noble was the best and most fitting origin.

Got to second that one.

Well, as someone said earlier, the mage is my favourite class and dwarves are restricted from magic, so...
I could link to Randy Newman's song for laughs as a "joke" reason why I'm reluctant to play dwarves, but I think that would be in poor taste...

Human, it may be a bit sueish of me but I like exploring the world from a slightly more alien perspective.

Dwarves.
They are probably my favorite non-human race in the series, but I like them more as NPCs or companion characters. For me its just that the romances with a human or elf character are a little awkward.

Hm. Humans, I suppose. I don't particularly dislike any race, but human would be the most default and boring, imo. If I'm playing a fantasy game, I usually want to escape reality as much as I possibly can.
I actually like Dwarves and their history, but admittedly I like playing taller characters better for some reason. If Varric is an LI race-gated to Dwarves, I'm glad he'll be helping me out with playing them more often. ![]()

I just can't stand Dwarves. So boring. Live underground, doesn't do anything but breed fighters or smiths. Uses out of date caste system. Highly conservative, rejects change. Short and stubby.
And the worst part: They can't use magic!

Dwarves.
Too short. Nope.

Dwarves. I don't like being way shorter than the other races, having orangutan arms and a huge head.

Human. Im already human in real life. Why would I be that in a world where I can be anything?
There are no human names or Human rogues. Will have to respectfully disagree. A Human can be roleplayed as much as any other race.

Similar to that class topic, is there any certain race you don't like/have on interest in playing as?
For me, it's qunari. And humans to some extent. The qunari, I guess I just don't like how they look tbh... Quite a fascinating culture (we're not playing as followers of the qun though...) but eh. Humans I'm also eh about. I like them, but there are so many other major characters that are human already that I'm like ehhh no need to add one more lol. And after DA2 where it was only human, I got a liiiittle bit sick of playing as one. I'll probably end up only making a human inquisitor if there's a certain story point I have to be a human to achieve like the possibility of becoming Anora or Alistair's consort in DAO.
What about you?
I played Dwarves in WOW and LOTR. I played one commoner dwarf and one Noble Dwarf in Origins and that was enough for me. They wont be my first playthrough.
I prefer city elves to Dalish. I will likely play in this order Human, Qunari, Elf and Dwarf

Humans. Just... boring... Would prefer to literally play anything other than a human.
Why are they boring?

Dwarves, I don't care about their culture much and it's it's hard to do dwarves appearance in the way I would like.

Um..There are no human mages in real life. You can't kick ass or do anything your videogame characters can. Human characters are NOT like real humans.
