The Double Dash Cabal is A WMD

Another nice perk of the 'high damage/short range' Poison Strike is that the effective range of the damage cone is pretty much the distance of the jump.. so there were less instances of the target taking no damage at the far end of the jump. This is often a big complaint about the power here on BSN. The only remaining issue is that it still won't let you Poison Strike into 'oblivion' (places that would take you off the map, inside solid objects, etc.) but regular Poison Strikers are used to that obstacle.
It offers so much more damage potential.. especially with high power per shot weapons like the Talon, Wraith, Executioner, Acolyte, etc. With Nightshade Blades, obliterating entire spawns is a cakewalk. See a spawn, fire off one or two Nightshade Blades, shoot the toughest enemy once, Poison Strike it, find the next enemy behind that one, shoot then Poison Strike that one, the Nightshade Blades go off and boom.. Killstreak.. all off one cooldown and in a matter of seconds. With all those abilities, 2 AOE Poison Strikes, 2 AOE tech explosions and 1-2 Nightshade Blades.. you're putting out top notch spawn wrecking, AOE damage. It feels like a wolf running into a herd of sheep and gnashing it's teeth while rending wooly flesh from their asses. Between the Nightshade Blades and Poison Strikes, you're also immobilizing anything that would possibly survive.
Another nice perk with this setup is boss performance. You can Poison Strike an Atlas/Scion/whatever, back dodge right through them and Poison Strike again infinitely.. and they'll just turn back and forth derping like they have no clue what's going on. Crabs will still grab you if you try this on them however..
Anyway.. if you're one of those folks who only goes 3-4 ranks in Poison Strike for mobility (or skip the power bc of inconsistent hit detection) give it a try. It brings much more pain than Biotic Charge.
Ohh yeah.. almost forgot. Another major perk is being able to Poison Strike and pop Biotic Focus right away for retreating. There's a little bit of cooldown management to it (remembering if the next Poison Strike is the one that triggers the cooldown or not) but if you don't know which one you're on, just use Focus once and it'll reset things.

What build are you using? 66660?
Also, how good / bad is this kind of playstyle on-/off host?
The "can't touch me" thing for the big guys sounds like fun. Will try that tonight. Thanks for sharing!

Glad to see you converted to it! ![]()
And yeah, Double Dash is awesome. Even if I don't understand what WMD means XD Ah got it now... Weapon of mass destruction? Yeah it is.
I won't bother going into details as you've covered pretty much everything. I'll just say that, personally, I take range evolution on evo 4 together with double dash... Although I've never bothered trying the other one so I guess I can't speak for experience about which one is better. I am guessing it is a subjective matter of what you find yourself more at ease with.
And yeah, managing the CDs becomes somewhat tricky, but nothing that can't be handled with a bit of experience with it.

6/6/6/6/6 but 6/6/6/4/4 or 6/6/6/5/3 would both be fine. What build are you using? 66660?

Weapons would be Wraith, Talon, Acolyte, Piranha, Arc, Venom, Paladin, Herpecain, Punisher, Graal, GPS, Raider, etc. Trying to stay at 130% cooldown or higher.
It's also completely reasonable to skip Biotic Focus because of the increased killing potential, I frames, displacement, and paralysis.

I tried to go no fitness, but if you wanna play her really aggressively you'll need a cyclonic then. If you want to use a power amp, you probably need to put at least 3 points into fitness, or split 4/4 with the passives. Not sure what's better really, the Cabal's one of the hardest kits to spec and one of the few on which the 5X6 glitch really helps out.
That said, personally, I simply can't play like that off host. Too much bullshit. You already get a good amount of it on host because of her dodge and BF being bugged at times, off host it becomes unbereable. But I've been known not to be able to suffer this game when things don't go exactly as they should, and to hate playing any vanguard off host, so...

I used to run the double dash build but changed it to the max damage build now.
I'd have preferred a percentage chance of not incurring a CD, like biotic charge. I disliked counting whether the poison strike I used was the odd-numbered or the even-numbered one.
I did quite enjoy the double-dash build but right now - I do concur with deerber and megabeast about it being pretty powerful. However, it's just not for me. :/
(I do remember deerber teaching me the ways of cabal/raider during one of those spectre operations, when I had no clue as to how to cabal.)
Currently, I have her specced for max damage with power amplifier to take down most humanoid enemies with one poison strike.

I can do it fine on a good host.. but on even a mediocre host it can be troublesome. Bad host.. forget about it.

It seems Poison Strike is much better on PC. It seems to miss an awful lot on consoles.

Uhh.. not sure if trolling. It works fine once you understand that it hits in a short cone in front of you.

Not really. It's attack zone is different from what the description says.
It does suck on bad hosts, but I am used to off-host BS since I play off-host all the time.

Hehe, thanks. I was new to the game back then, and had no clue about 90% of the game mechanics. In essence, I was a 'pug' back then, in the BSN sense. ![]()

It should, yes.

Nah, you were already decent enough. But I remember being surprised by how good you had become after I came back to the game after some months away from it ![]()

I guess I should mention that I run Geth Scanner exclusively on this kit.. and take the Extra Grenade evo in Nightshade Blades (giving me 3). It really helps being able to aim at the 'red thing' when you're in a hurry because it's so damn fast paced, and your camera is getting jerked around constantly with the jumping and turning. Geth Scanner helps with the disorientation.. especially in Cerberus spawns full of smoke.
Ah, that's something I wanted to ask you. I've always run grenade capacity on her, but it might not be the best choice indeed...

I just can't get it to work correctly, but on PC, I don't miss as much. And yes, I do play off-host since my host sucks right now. I haven't tested it yet, but I don't want people to complain about it.
