We'll decide by how Anders reacts.  Does he react by going something like 'Wait!  That was true!?' or 'Ha!  I knew the Chantry story wasn't true!'?

As i recall, he says something to the effect of, "I cant believe it. Its true?! I always thought it was just a story the chantry made up to subjugate mages, but its true!"

I don't think so, because why should Old Gods tricked magisters and release the blight? The Old Gods are also can be considered as victims of the blight.

Corypheus could have also meant that they were surprised the golden city turned black on them, it doesnt necesarily mean it was black when they got there

Though this isnt my forte I could be wrong

Perhaps the Maker isn't benevolent , and was and is a Malevolent god and the Golden City was never golden , was always a Black City.

Who turned Golden City to Black City? I ask this question because Corypheus said the city was already black and corrupt when they entered. I didn't manage to find a proper anwser for this. Anyone knows the anwser for this? or atleast have an idea about this? Thanks in advance for any repplies.

wasn't it mages who became darkspawn as punishment by the maker for entering his city and defiling it or something.

Thats my theory as well. The Maker never turned his back on man because he never cared about them in the first place. I don't think the Magisters corrupted it, it was always a Black City. In fact I'm not sure why it was originally even called the Golden City if no one had even seen the place first hand. I think it being a Golden City is just a made up tale by the Chantry for their own agenda.

what if they intended to have the blights all along? they just sought the necessary means, and tricked the magisters to start it.

I'll go with the Old God's turning it black, which is why the Maker stuck them in the ground and put them to sleep.

I think it's more likely an ancient city trapped in the Fade, and both the magisters and the Chantry were wrong about what it was.

They were turned into ghouls in the bargain; I don't think they appreciated that. Personally, it wouldn't surprise me at all if the darkspawn were built to destroy the world in such a way that the Old Gods would get some of the worst of it.

But Corypheus himself speaks of it as being Golden, and he comes from before the time of the Chantry.

If the Blight was intended to destroy the world then it's done a pretty terrible job so far. Every blight has eventually been put down, and there's only two old gods left. Perhaps corrupting the old gods is the only way to ensure their death (via being killed by a grey warden)?
