I'm currently on my 1st NG+ playthrough with a character and so far got to level 57 with xp currently sat at 500,620xp.

I've got the xp boost and I've only done Feros out of the main quests so far after leaving the Citadel, done a few sidequests, most of the way through Geth Incursions, just got Rayingri to do then onto Solcrum.

Killed 4 out of the 9 Thresher Maws that are available to kill. Everything so far been killed on foot. The only DLC I have is BDtS, not interested in getting Pinnacle Station. Still got to pick Liara up, still got Noveria, Virimire and then of course Ilos and the final battle to do, so am assuming I've got a good chance as long as I keep at it with killing things on foot and do virtually every quest possible.

The only quests am not intending on doing is Asari Diplomacy (want to see how not doing it may affect ME2) and whilst I currently have Wrex's family armor, I haven't actually recruited him and intend not to. But everything else I intend to do. Oh and I don't intend on doing any 'exploits' either ;)

So anyway my question is, can anyone confirm if it is likely that I'll get to 60 on this playthrough?

I was 58 when I did almost all of the sidequests (except the ones given after Feros and Virmire), Noveria and Liara T'soni's planet(I don't remember the name :P).

I thought that i'd have to run across the game once again(3 times in 2 weeks it's madness, btw), but I was 60 at the end of Virmire. I think you could easily level to 60, and by what I've seen, I don't think quests like Asari Diplomacy or some more minor quests affect ME2, but I don't know. If you do almost all the sidequests and kill everything on foot you should be on level 60 by Ilos, I think.

Good luck :P.

The farthest i got in a single playthrough was 54 and that was doing as much as possible, it takes so much xp to go from 59 to 60. I had to beat almost half the game to get from 59 to 60.

I just finished a game about an hour ago. Hit 56. Did everything. Killed as much on foot as I could. I don't have Pinnacle Station, but I do have BtDS. Was interesting. Never did find Colossus armor for myself...

I don't understand why cant you get to 60 level(i have seen this problem before)... I have done everything(before DLC came out) and on Virmire i became 60. level. I killed everything on foot, have done every side quest (don't forget the mission with the Rachni, when they attack soldiers and you can wire your MAKO to defense cannons), so its possible;)

Shanra what level were you when you finished first time round, I'll admit that the character am doing this with was my 2nd completion, although they still hit level 50 level cap just before Virimire on first playthrough and tbh now can't exactly what level I became on first level up after that.

Yeah I remember the mission with the rachni, don't think I've ever wired the MAKO up though, although will admit I think first playthrough I did use the MAKO in those particular fights. Might not this time though as fully maxed out with gear.

are you claiming you hit level 60 in one play through?

I got to level 59 on my 2nd playthrough, but now i´m bored and have no wish to repeat the game with the same character to reach lvl 60 :/

It would just have been much better if we could max lvl60 on two playthroughs, three is just too much.

Oh well...

My engineer, which was my first char, capped at 50.  I think I hit 50 somewhere on Virmire, or beginning of Ilos.

if you actually play the game and Get/DO everything before the first completion, you can get your player to at least 50 something

it's possible,

Level 60 is another achievement I don't have yet. Some questions:
1) Does increased difficulty yield more XP?
2) In this thread I've read frequently about shooting stuff "on foot". Does that mean that more XP are granted than killing stuff with the MAKO?

I got level 60 on my 2nd play though and i did not kill everything on foot. I do have both DLCs. I did get about 95% of all the metals and the rest of the collectibles and i did all the side missions that I found or where on my mission list. It took me a few days per play tho. I take my time. The way M.E. 2 is looking it will be a bit longer game then M.E. 1, but that is my guess.

There's a small xp penalty for killing things in the Mako, you can use it to soften them up and kill them on foot for full xp but if you kill them with the MAKO you do suffer a penalty.  Not sure about XP increasing with difficulty.  It's possible but I've never really paid much attention to individual xp gains.

Also for people trying to reach 60 don't forget you get experience for opening containers.

it's possible in two playthroughs - you can certainly get to 57 (getting to 58 is a bit harder). Best you get to high 40s low 50s to ensure you get to 60 on your second run. Anything lower is doubtful

You speak with my voice...Colossus armor never showed up, no matter what I did. I am also at level 56

More benefits to your character/ship for your imported character. Also, if you completed a second run through to get to 60 you also had the chance to get both Paragon and Renegade to 100%, and one of the Bioware staff said in the Xfire Q&A that you will get some benefits from having done that as well.

I found Colossus Armor from a box on the paragon mission to protect the scientist that were drugged.

But as a general rule, if I want a suit, then I hit BDtS and get a set from the lead engineer after completing it.

If you start at Level 56 you should be able to reach level 60 but you will need to do everything the slightly hard way (No Mako Kills) and all the missions.

Best way to get the armor you are looking for is to find out who makes it (ex: Armax) and buy ONLY that makers issue card, than go talk with the guy in the normandy saveing before you do so. If he doesnt have what you are looking for, reload and talk with him again and again and so on if need be. I was able to outfim my entire crew with collossus X in one game!

Just to add this:

In my games, the c-sec-requisition officer had the license, when I returned from somewhere and had a certain level...I believe something like ~30

Well, I'm doing a 2nd playthrough on my character that was 56. I am also going for my last few achievements as well. Level 60. insanity, and haveing Liara/Tali in my party. I don't think I'll get it finished before Tuesday though! :(

I've already hit 58 though, and I haven't even started any of the side planets, or the main mission except the planet you pick up Liara on. I hit 58 while doing some of the side missions on the Citadel after picking up Liara. I know 59-60 takes a lot of XP, but I'm pretty sure I can do it. :P And I probably don't need to kill everything outside of the Mako. But its more fun too, anyway. I kill faster without it!

This ought to be an interesting playthrough though. I have a tech (Tali), a Biotic (Liara) and a tech/biotic (me as a sentinel).

I'll have to try the reloading trick for the Colossus armor. Still haven't found any. I already bought a bunch of licenses though. Tali has the version IX, and I found a set for Wrex. But nothing I can use.
