I noticed some kind if rock or ball shoot from the head of the staff. Perhaps it's a combo of the two, dependent upon the spell.

It seems normal/auto attacks are from the hand, but actual spells like StoneFist or Lightning come from the staff.

Soo, why don't they show more of the tactical camera/combat ?....

 

My guess would because it slows down the flow of the game and they didn't want to spend a lot of time with the game "paused".

 

I think my only issue that I can currently see is that I am not crazy on the companion icons and that is a pretty minor issue.

Am excited to see the Bridge Repair spell; cast w/o a staff, and a misc spell to boot! Quite nice to witness the versatility that may be possible in the game!

The way the dragon moves, and all that, looks amazing. Proper dragon!

Nice party banter.

Female voice sounded too much like Lady Hawke (same voice actress?).

The mage combat was great.

Exploration is back. Huge bonus.

Rotten combat for 2 handed style. Summoning rocks is just lame. Won't use it in the game.

The world seems very very much alive. Fantastic.

 

What happened to the companions when the PC was riding the horse? Did they just disapear?

Lots of walking around.  The scenery looks nice.  Some filler fights.  A discussion of a system for generating random encounters that sounds like it'll be pretty irrelevent unless you grind a lot.  A dragon fight that looks OK - there's little discernible tactics going on, but they might have it on easy for demo purposes so it's hard to judge.  No real conversations at all, though I'll trust that's just because they don't want to show them yet rather than a reflection of the focus of the game.

 

I hope you don't have to fight both mages and templars.

Didn't notice that. Thought you meant the layout. That is rather lame, yes. Easy to get rich fast again, then. 50 percent less to spend money on.

I don't like it much as well. I doubt at this point is something that will change. Hope to be wrong though.

That is the mage's out of combat ability i believe, Warriors can "break down walls", rogues lock pick and mages "energize stuff". I'm going to be saying:

looks like they just have that "hand blast" as their auto attack........

 

 

The Knight Enchanter spec is going to have melee mage staff attacks
