So, who sat down and thought that it was acceptable to have ONLY  a head and and chest slot for equipment on everyone including the PC?

Is there an explanation for this, because Jesus Christ is that a huge blunder in my book.2WOYSK6.png

Boots and gloves aren't gone, they still exist. You can swap out (upgrade) armor with separate boots and gloves.

Re-posting this since some people must have missed it on page 3. Perhaps the OP can include the quote on the original post.

Thanks.

Hey all,

To clear things up. A suite of armor can be modified with separate boots and gloves in our crafting system, that's why you see only one slot, it's all combined. The same goes for weapons where you can change the hilt, blade etc. We'll go into crafting and loot in a lot more depth later on.

One of the issues with this, is in-game money. ME2 and 3, and DA2 removed the oppertunity to equip your companions with different armours etc. That lead to the player becoming rich in no time. In DA2, apart from the expedition cash, you really had zero expenses. ME 2-3 was even worse at this. Bad choice (again).

This isn't good.  If this is final it means that boots will be tied to chest pieces.  How lame.

I was wondering about this, but I assume it's all rolled into one slot now. I bet the templates include all of the slots from the previous games, and then they all get compressed into a single set when you craft it.

Can't say I'm particularly happy with this change, but I'll reserve judgement until I see how the crafting works.

I don't understand the logic behind this at all, how hard is it to just separate the items?

Too early to tell for sure. But I hope I won't be drowning in cash again, for no other reason that there isn't anything useful to buy after a certain point.

This is a little disappointing, tbh. I wonder why they only have some slots for armor.

I'm just hoping that Was like a temporary thing or something. I was actually wanting the legs and chest piece to be separate

So I'm forced to craft to just get the same inventory experience from the last two games?

But...we can put companions in different armours this far. The difference between DAO and DAI is that both PC and companions have one slot. How can it affect money differently then DAO?

This is upsetting. I hope they altered it for the demo or something.

No gloves or boot slots in DA:I. Less to spend money on.

If this is final product i be real unhappy, why do they mess with things an take things away that ppl want, has anyone actually ever complained "hey this equipping of equipment in a rpg is soo damn annoying please remove it" why in hell do they feel the need to mess about with it an give poor imitations

IS it so damn hard to just leave it the frack alone, let me equip a chest, belt, hands, feet and legs

Armours can cost more. We might get less money during the game. We don't know if crafting weapons and armours will cost, and how much.
Changing the system itself (which I don't approve) doesn't mean we'll have tons of money.

It looks that way but I certainly hope it isn't the case.

It's probably the default vest for when staying in the keeps, since almost instantly she switched automatically to her combat outfit.

Could be. But a simple backpack cost more than a good armour in the previous games, so I won't hold my breath.

Mmmmmh, it got me disappointed too at first.

But then I remmeber, why was there various slots to begin with ? For various pieces of equipement, but those were always found/bought, this time Bioware is promising extensive crafting and gear creation, maybe that will be how we will create armours with different gaunlets/boots/etc ?

Of course that's just hypothesis...but ME2 kind of did that too by moving a huge chunk of skills from the character screen in ME1, and made them upgrades.

Don't see the point of removing gloves and boots.

Why change something that isn't broken?

Yeah. It looks like it just took a second to load her robe and layer it over her vest.

2 Weapon Slots, Chest/Body, Head, Belt, Neck and 2 Ring/Item Slots.

So what does that leave out Gloves, Boots & Greaves.

Is it really such a big deal?

Also as I understand it... you'll be able to custom make your own armour combinations with the new crafting system, this includes the missing 3 slots.

I don't see this as a problem.

I'm not going to lose my **** just yet I mean they haven't told us much about armor other than that you can craft it. I would wait before jumping to any conclusions if I were you guys.
