Cool your jets, BSN:
User
so boots/belts/gloves? not done yet? incorporated into chest armour so no need for slots? alpha build still working on it?
Details later, but in short, they're incorporated into the armor as upgrades.
- Cool...

Upgrading inventory space is always somewhat expensive in these types of games. In an economy where a Deep Road expedition buy on is 50g and 1 slave is 100g; you can't expect much logic.
That was kind of my point ![]()
This is purely speculative, but I think this is because of the crafting system:
If my memory isn't wrong, in weapons, you can choose which hilt and blade you want to use for your sword. And if it's the same thing with armors, then it's possible that we have to choose the chest, gloves and boots of the set we want to use.
In other words, there is not anymore a "Chest/Gloves/Boots" slot, but an "Armor set" slot to make things a bit more practical since having 3 different custom parts can be a bit messy to handle.
I don't see what the big fuss is about.

That seems acceptable.

Hey all,
To clear things up. A suite of armor can be modified with separate boots and gloves in our crafting system, that's why you see only one slot, it's all combined. The same goes for weapons where you can change the hilt, blade etc. We'll go into crafting and loot in a lot more depth later on.
I'm of an opinion that in a crafting menu you would be able to see the gloves/greaves etc. Crafting will play an important role in improving armour I think. Maybe it is also a factor of 'These boots do not match this outfit' kind of thing. I'm sure the devs will elaborate soon.
I did on my first campaign. In latter ones, I used the console to add gold when desired, as I dislike Shopping Mall runs in games. If this were a MMO, then I might be concerned about economics, money sinks, and game balance, but in a solo game, it is of little to no consequence for me.
I only bought some weapons for companions early on. Then I ust used whatever I found on quests. Had to sell every armour I found, because I could only use 1 of them, on Hawke, anyway. That made armour just income, and not an expense at all.
The armour slot is in the inventory screen is just for the entire "armour set".
Individual parts of that, like gloves and boots, are upgraded or changed using templates in the crafting menu.
It seems.

Thanks for taking the time to clear that up. Much appreciated!

That's what I figured. I love how Bioware's being generous enough to give us all this info and a full blown public demo and the first thing people do is pounce on a small detail.

That picture was a qunari female. Unless I misjudged something with the Iron Bull, he's a male. The only female qunari is the inquisitor.
Thank you so much for showing this. I can now cherish this video forever xD

Not sure about this as it might force crafting but it's an acceptable explanation.
Thank you devs for responding to the issue.

Inventory management is something that people want to know more about, and the inventory's appearance differs from previous titles. Curiosity and concern were and are to be expected when things change.

So it's like Mass Effect where Shepard had modular armor? Only it can be applied to all companions with the required stats? For that matter since you mentioned switching out hilts, is the weapon Modding system similar to what was seen in ME 3?
Not sure about this as it might force crafting but it's an acceptable explanation.
Bio Dev: sarcasm/People demanded a crafting system and by thunder you're going to use it and like it!/sarcasm

So I can still have a custom look and play with stats?
