It would be pretty cool if we could give speeches to our soldiers before battle or something like that

I just finished the mass effect trilogy a few days ago. In the last battle we can choose what to say in our speech. I have to admit that it was a bit too corny. Perhaps its just the VA of Shepard.

Alistair speech was pretty good imo.

I actually thought sarcastic Hawke had the best speech in a BioWare game, strangely enough.

It can totally be repurpoused into a Speech. Some may not find it uplifting, but they would get the Boot from my Inquisitor.

If our characters make a speech:

I hope that we have a good degree of control of it, rather than it be auto-dialogue like DA2, or just one choice and then an extended sequence.  This should be a big characterisation moment.

I hope it's reasonably specific to the situation.  Mass Effect 3's speeches by both Shepard and Hackett felt too generic.

I hope it's delivered to a reasonably sized audience.  Giving a speech to small a bunch of friends just feels weird to me.

 

I felt the main problem with DA:O's speech was that it was too interested in saying how awesome the PC was.  But I guess that was to compensate for the PC not being able to deliver the speech, which isn't an issue here.

Y'know I always thought it must suck for the guys in the rear of these massive armies. They can't hear s*** all they're saying, probably just going with it. :S
