Yeah, I was using it last night on the Batarian Slasher and Vanguard (completed Bloodpack Mastery actually).

 

Good for up close damage. Smart Choke is a must on the Pirahna.

I use it sometimes for the Omni blade on melee characters .

I actually just started using it on my GI.  Prior to that, I only used the Claymore or Geth Plasma Shotgun (not counting trying out different shotguns after unlocking them).

Well, the raider is better in 99% of the circumstances, so... I could understand if they weren't using the piranha but using the raider. Problem is, no one uses the raider either. Which is a damn shame...

 

Agreed, except for the fact that I use the Raider all the time.

I use it on various kits occasionally. Good for vanguards and any other character that can close distances quick.

GI and Worlard 24/7. Cabal and Shadow sometimes.

Good question though .. which is better vs bosses? Gi / Piranha or GI / Raider

I'm not really a shotgun fan, but i go back and forth between this gun and Reeger on my AIU....i just recently switched to the Reeger, but the Piranha is a great Shotgun.

Pirhana>Reegar IMO. Pirahna is a much better boss killer. I use it on any of the fast, powerful classes like the Fury, Valkyrie, GI, GTS, and batarians. Its also pretty good on marksman classes.

Oh, it's still a top of the line weapon (3rd highest dps weapon in the game after Reeger, then Raider, I think?). Used to use it a lot. It's only problem is being far too OP for Gold and down. But when playing Platinum, it & the Raider are my go to Shotguns without a doubt.

 

Works even better on accuracy boosting classes. ie. can't believe how accurate it gets on the Destroyers with smart choke, that you don't even need a ranged secondary.

On comparing the Raider VS Piranha, one must not forget that the Raider can be weight glitched. Would think BSN would be all over this by now...

Piranha is still pretty light even with extra weight IIRC.

Pirahna Fury was my first favorite kind of playstyle with her. It was very aggressive and easy to set off combos. A great mix of bullets and biotics.

As it happens, I was using it today on my flamerless GT.  Ridiculously powerful still, though not quite in the GI game-breaking territory.

It's not exactly super OP on kits specced into power passives IMO.. it's just 'good.' It only gets stupid on ROF/Accuracy classes and Winfiltrators (surprise).
