The beacons and Vigil were endgame VIs/tech. After indoctrination was understood enough to scan for it. Until then, yes, sleeper agents galore!

Endgame? I thought Vigil said that they broadcast the beacon message before they fully understood Indoctrination.

Yeah, seems legit. Cause like.... You know, the Protheans weren't infiltrated and sabotaged by indoctrinated reaper agents or anything like that, lol.

GG.

You say that like having guards and security systems ensures you're safe. Grow up, boy. Saboteurs have been finding their way past those things for years. Especially the ones they are aware exist beforehand.

I don't see how that means anything. Keep in mind that to me here, 'endgame' includes into the decades or longer.

And what does 'fully understand indoctrination' have to do with this? Detecting it isn't the same thing as fully understanding it. Not by a long shot.

Let's not forget that the Protheans fought the reapers for over a hundred years. I've no doubt that they learned to somehow scan for indoctrination in that time.

Reminds me a bit of Thane's in-party rundown about the Citadel's dozen or so exploitable weaknesses in ME2.

Just that the beacons weren't endgame tech, even by your definition. They were used early in the war. Actually, Vigil flatly says that they were used prewar, so I should have led with that.

Well... Prothean tech seems to be able to scan people via touch... and in both cases the indoctrinated persons in question are walking on a Prothean built floor...

(Actually, the floor of the temple of Athena was probably built by the Asari, but this theory was too silly-crazy not to suggest...)

It totally agree - after being sabotaged by indoctrinated agents, anyone would stop looking for ways to detect indoctrination.

Apparently, KL recieved a lot of reaper implants.

It probably isnt' that hard to detect, much like the stuff on the Cerberus assault troopers, only worse I'm thinking.

Bah! I guess this means Shepard was not indoctrinated, otherwise the Vendetta would have detected it.

Yeah, that was something that disproved IT pretty well. Especially on Cronos.

Apparently, Shepard was only "lightly" indoctrinated then, so Vendetta couldn't detect it... or so I've been told.

Vendetta is not perfect due to the sheer virtue of indoctrinated agents of his cycle. So he is very unreliable in detecting indoctrinated agents.

But Harbinger's indoctrination ray hadn't hit Shepard yet.

The whole indoctrination thing was crazy. I'm surprised we didn't see something like this:

LOL! Indoctrination never really made any sense. It's hard to tell if Reapers have any cognitive processing.

And that clip foreshadows why Shepard would choose Destroy and not Synthesis or Control. He would deny them his essence.

Shepard's essence is narcotic.

Shepard's Essencetm sounds like a cologne laced with pheromones distilled from heroism.

(... with a little leftover essence of Prothean from the cipher.)

Another alternative: its the blue, glowy eyes. Dead give away.

Heh. There really should have been a moment in ME2 where Shep can ask:

'So... TiM. What's with the husk eyes bro?'

I don't know. Even Vigil on Ilos says it doesn't detect Shepard is indoctrinated. Vigil also states the Protheans never fully understood indoctrination. I just wonder how Vigil and Vendetta can detect it.

Because indoctrination causes increasingly more severe brain damage in very specific parts of the brain so as to preserve as much of the victim's higher functions while making them less independent and more open to subliminal suggestion. To a sensitive medical scanner, this brain damage should show up as a matching pattern among indoctrination victims, making it easy to distinguish between healthy individuals, individuals with non-indoctrination related brain damage and indoctrination victims.
