Thinking about keeping a Cousland this time as a S&S Warrior and putting all points into strength using only shield bash tree. Questions:

1.What would be some good specializations as a high damager S&S Warrior?

I plan on using mushrooms & armor regen to restore stamina. I prefer S&S over two-hand & dual wield. I might have shale or Alistair tank and have leliana an zevran dual wield.

2. Any recommendations to a S&S build and how to appropriately build Leliana and Zevran as dual wield rogues, like point attribution and etc.

3.I still need the punisher & whirlwind achievement. Can I get that achievement using other companions besides my warden?

First, allow me to suggest you pump Dex as well as Str. The defense boost you will get from Dex is invaluable as a S&S warrior, and it also helps minimise those misses. Also, it seems you're trying to go DPS with a S&S, and frankly the two aren't a great fit. I mean it CAN work if you want it for role-play reasons or whatever, but if you're going for maximum efficiency builds, a S&S warrior will never get the big numbers like a 2-Hander.

1) Champion is the classic S&S spec. Crowd control and melee buffs/debuffs - just what you want. For a secondary spec, Berserker will certainly boost your offensive abilities, which sounds like what you're going for. But Reaver is worth considering as well, particularly for Frightening Appearance (because you'll be wanting to draw all the aggro) and Blood Frenzy (because your health pool should be relatively stable).

2) Frankly, besides Shield Bash, there's not a great deal in the S&S tree that's amazing for damage. It's all rather defense based. It's all about drawing aggro (Taunt and Threaten from the warrior trees) and then keeping yourself alive (Shield Wall is your best sustainable). You'll be auto-attacking a LOT. So maybe you'd like to invest in poisons to keep your blade as deadly as possible and/or bombs to keep things interesting...?

As far as Leliana and Zevran go, the AI is actually a bit hamstrung when it comes to DW rogues because you can't tell it to go for backstabs, which is where DW rogues excel. However, this all changes with the acquisition of one talent - Coup De Grace. Suddenly your rogues don't need to be behind an enemy to get a backstab - they just need to stun or paralyze them. So once this is acquired, set their tactics to use Dirty Fighting and Riposte as often as possible. Also, you'll want Momentum on pretty much constantly, and the first three talents in the Dual Weapon Training tree are must-haves. You'll also want to get Lethality and pump their Cunning sky high to get the big numbers. The Bard tree is kinda useful (though not essential) for Song of Courage, while the whole Assassin tree is pretty awesome.

3) Yes you can.

Good luck.

I saw a video from DA2 S&S reaver warrior killing enemies which inspired this idea. But if what you say is true then its pointless. My main goal is to get those achievements.

1. So in terms of damage what would be best: S&S, DW, or 2H?

2. And what class would be best for DW build and how do I play as a DW?

My main class experience always been mage. I did a S&S (I did str & dex) & a 2H warrior (all str) in Awakening before with no problem an found it easy. I suck as a rogue and I want to deal high damage or kill enemies quickly. Any assists?

I go straight offense from the start and all STR, getting to Assault and Blightblood by Lothering. I also try to get Perfect Striking by level 12.I only put points in Dex after Str to 32, but I build my tank different then most.

Yes, DA:O and DA2 play very differently.

In terms of pure damage, a 2-Hander and a DW will both get massive points - they just play rather differently.

2-H is simple - put (almost) all points into Str, grab the biggest armour you can, and charge! You'll hit like a freight train. Each attack is like wrecking ball - slow, but devastating.

DW's are quick and powerful. Rogues are all about backstabs, while warriors attack from the front.

If you're after the achievements Punisher and Whirlwind, DW warrior is perfect!

Dex will be your chief attribute - the great defense will mean you can survive going toe-to-toe with a mob of enemies. Again, get Momentum (ASAP) and the first three talents on the Dual Weapon Training tree.

To get Whirlwind, you'll want to surround yourself with as many enemies as possible, so get Taunt and Threaten from the Warrior trees (and it might be a good idea not to use another Tank who might steal your aggro). Once you have 3-4 enemies surrounding you, Whirlwind away. With a high enough Dex, you shouldn't have any problems being surrounded. Then simply throw out Punishers as often as you like until you get the achievement. Champion and Berserker for specs.

1.So how would you allocate the points and talents each level?

2.Would daggers or swords or both be useful?

3.Should I tank as a DW warrior?

1. Distribute points in Dex as needed to get the talents, otherwise all STR.

2. I like Vesialle, it's really good for a high STR character. Axes do more damage because of the 1.1 modifier, and the enchantments on Veshialle are very useful.

3. DWW make better off tanks. Have a tank draw the aggro, and you'll be the one doing the damage. You can have the DWW tank if you want though.
