Has Any Pre-Release Info Made You Reconsider Your First Playthrough?

For the past two DA games, my first playthrough has always been a rogue. Always. Just a skillset that generally appeals to me. Following playthroughs then go to warrior next, then mage.

So, I'd been figuring I'd go into DA:I the same way: rogue for first playthrough.

But man. Watching the nice, higher-quality E3 demo with the dragon battle... it's got me reconsidering. I was in love with the close-up intensity and the amazing amount of detail and realism that was present when Mike took over The Iron Bull to fight up close and personal. I'm in love with everything about these dragons, from the redesign to the sounds to the scripting actions.

While I'm aware rogues can likely run up and attack as well, I'm imagining it may not work so well health-wise this game since they've said there's no more heal spell/health poultice-spamming (which, admittedly, is how I used to roll my rogues and basically make them like warriors :P ). Which has me actually leaning towards warrior now for my first playthrough... because, MAN, that was just intense and awesome. I don't wanna be long-range for those kinds of battles first time through! :D

Anyone else wavering on first playthrough plans, be it race, gender, class, party composition, etc?

I still plan on the female Qunari for the first one. Still excited to see something new like her. Rogue is normally my first then mage. I may do mage here. There was a mention if mage, could been led to impartially helped start the mess. Sounds intriguing to find out.

I still plan on playing a sarcastic, screw your feelings female warrior. My party composition has changed from Vivienne, Sera and Iron Bull to Vivienne, Sera and Dorian.

I keep going back and forth between mage and warrior; human and qunari for my 1st run. All I know for certain is that I will be playing a female Inquisitor.

Not yet. Was planning on being the biggest slap to the Qun I could be by being an Vashoth unbound-mage who is a woman-who-fights, and I still think that's what I'll go with. Well, the class is the only part that could change. Female Qunari Inquisitor is still without question going to be my first playthrough, the class and spec is what is subject to change. But right now, we don't know near enough about the classes and specializations for any changes to be considered by me yet. Once that info is revealed and I decide a rogue or warrior look more fun once I know the details, then I might change my mind about that. But for now, my plan is still the plan.

So far, not really. Only maybe what I choose to import from DA:O since they said Zevran won't appear I'm considering importing an Alistair romanced save instead for more impact and hoping I run into him instead lol.

You know, after watching the demo I am starting to have doubt my intent on keeping tradition of always being a Mage first/main playthrough. The PC and Vivenne looked pretty weak in the demo, especially in comparison to Iron Bull and Sera who were doing over 1,000+ dmg points.

The mage fighting looked more like pew-pew-pew instead of immensely powerful spells. I hope that's not the case. Mage has always been my favorite class, across all RPG games. Dragon Age is no different, I hope I'm wrong.

No, still a pro-chantry archer dwarf! It's making me look more forward to my dwarf actually, since race plays a part throughout the story! Lol I'll be the maker chosen one!

Possibly... I love rogues, but since my 1st DAI run will be blind, I always would pick a tank type character......until I figure out how each classes's new mechanics work

Not as yet.  Last change of mind came when we found out Qunari were a playable race.

Since then, female Qunari rogue has been more or less set in stone.  Nothing as yet seen has even tempted me to change it.

Still plenty of time, though.

Interesting combo since initially Dwarves don't have a Chantry, and don't believe in the Human Chantry.

Then again, the Inquisitor is a surface Dwarf.

You could make the dwarves allow a chantry in Orzammar but the followers would later be discriminated against.

Nah, still dwarven rogue first play; I play all the classes and races eventually, anyway. But this time around my first play's not going to be using my canon world with my Amell Warden and sarcastic rogue Hawke; I'm saving that for the second or third go-around. What I'm mostly unsure about is which of my alternate Warden/Hawkes I want to carry over first. Originally I was going to start with my male mage Hawke who romanced Merrill, but now I want to save that for my Dalish Inquisitor play. So, it's less who I'll be playing that's been influenced, but more what I'll be playing in terms of world state.

I know I'm uncertain.

My three planned playthroughs are Male Human Warrior, Female Qunari Rogue, and Female Elven Mage.

That was the original order, but I might switch out the Qunari with the Human as the first and second playthroughs.

I had planned FQR, with American accent, but now that both VAs are revealed, I'm torn on the accent. Go local (very local, as it were), or go 'incredulous.'

The video I posted in the Discover DA thread today made me seriously reconsider rolling a rogue and perhaps go out of my comfort zone and play mage.
