The more I hear, I keep feeling very tempted to go with a mage instead of a warrior for my female qunari Inquisitor, but I really want a warrior to be my first playthrough this time (Mostly as a change of pace because I never do that)

Considered changing to female Inquisitor after the art reveal, then again after Sera was confirmed lesbian (love her character so far) then again after the American VA was identified (damn that voice is sexy).

...But I like to RP myself the first run-through so I'll probably stay male human warrior. Or maybe mage, since I'll be taking Cassandra everywhere.

Still planning to play as a mage, but I'm undecided about which race. I'll try all races and classes before I'm done, but that first playthrough...I guess I'll decide when I get there.  ;)

Yes actually. Have planned to start with a Dwarven Rogue all this time, but may change depending upon further developments in the game or the Keep.

I always play rouge for a first play through . but magic in this game looks amazing and I do not play as a Mage in games . I hate feeling like a bystander while everyone else is in the action

I still plan in being a male Qunari rogue but i may change other characters.

I already had to change the romance option for my pro-mage female Qunari mage. It was going to be Dorian but since he doesnt swing her way, I'll have to think about it. Maybe Solas if possible.

"Yeah, just humans again"

Oh... well I'll just play a mage again I guess.

"There's going to be multiple races"

THANK GOD! OH MY GOD DO I CHOOSE AN ELF OR DWARF?!

"The qunari are an option"

Well... female qunari mage it is then.

Male dwarf, most likely. Depends abit on the character creation bit, though. I might spend alot of time there making different faces and stuff, and then just find something I like there.

I really hope we'll have a good CC this time.
On the OP, My plan didn't change since the race reveal. Male elf mage named Fëanor (Lavellan as we know since the PAX demo).

Still planning a female rogue so far. But I don't really want to play a noble. So maybe not human, it will depend on the CC.

But after yesterday video, a mage looks more and more tempting. I love the casting animation for simple spells, it's classy, you're not "pole-dancing" anymore like in DA2.

Still a human-rogue...or maybe qunari mage...or human mage...or qunari rogue...one or the other, can't decide which

I'll probably have a better idea once they give out more details on the other class specialisations...maybe...

I'm not normally that interested in the warrior class, especially since all of the warrior specials in DA:I look boring/the same old. But the gameplay footage thats been released with the Iron Bull attacking the dragon look pretty amazing, so I might have to give the class a go at some point...but after I've played through as the mage and rogue classes first.

I'm getting more and more confused as to what I'm playing on my first playthrough. Originally I had a pretty strong opinion on which companions I wanted on my team the majority of the time and had picked a class to go with that. Now I'm not so sure any more. I want them aaaaall =D

Going with Mage because spell effects look awesome. The armor finally looks cool too. I usually go Warrior first.

I haven't been able to decide between 2 handed warrior or mage knight enchanter. I really wish they'd show the knight enchanter in action!

Well, I was always going to be a female elf on my first playthrough.  My Warden was a City Elf and I just like the idea of the oppressed person saving the entire world and ideally helping to change the prejudices other people may have of her race.  My Warden was also a Rogue, primarily so I could get my Coercion skill up as quickly as possible to have a diplomatic character.

When I didn't know if the Coercion skill (and Rogue skill progression) was making a return for DAI, I thought I would probably need to roll another Rogue.  That kinda sucked, because I also intend to romance Sera and having two rogues in a party just doesn't seem to work as well for me as two warriors or two mages, and I don't want to leave my LI out of my adventures.  But, since it doesn't seem like we'll need rapid skill progression to be the most verbally persuasive character we can be, I'm free to take a different path.

Mage is definitely interesting, but I'll probably save that for my second playthrough as a qunari, just because being a saarebas female Vashoth war-leader without an arvaarad is so sacrilegious to the Qun that the reactions from the devout should be fantastic.  So, right now I'm thinking Elf Warrior for my first.  Of course, that could change again once the classes are shown in more depth...

Since I wouldn't use a three-mage party, two things have caused me to reconsider playing a mage first:

  • Vivienne and Dorian seem to have cool, combative banter
  • Dorian and Solas look like my two favorite characters from previews

As a result, I'm tempted to play some other class to be able to fit in two mage companions npc's sometimes!  But I probably won't.  At least not on first playthrough.

Not necessarily a change, but now I have no idea who I am going to romance. I thought it'd be easy to choose. I was wrong.

I usually start with Warrior, but all three warrior companions seem interesting. I might start with a mage, especially since they seem to get decent armor this time. Qunari one, possibly female. Then go on to my cliche human warrior runthrough.
