Is it true that Zevran won't be in DAI? Why? All the other romance options show up, why doesn't he? What about the Wardens that had him as a LI?

Gaider specifically said that he is not dead if you did not kill him.  He did not say if there would be any other acknowledgement of the romance, but he did say that there would be no Zevran cameo. 

 

Personally, I don't think my Inquisitors would care one bit who the Warden romanced, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is some sort of rumor or casual mention of the Warden and his/her LI that shows up in DAI. 

 

Morrigan and Leliana are plot important characters and Alistair could be king so they all make sense with respect to DAI's story.  Now, if DAI were to occur in Antiva instead of Orlais and Ferelden, I would be distressed if there was no mention of my favorite assassin.

 

Perhaps Josephine will have a bit to say about Zev. You never know.

Nothing of the sort has been confirmed; what has been confirmed is that his VA is providing the voice for the Male inquisitor(american, I believe). I'm assuming that means he won't be using Zevran's accent, so that absolutely leaves him open to voice both us and the elven crow.

 

That being said, I can't think of a single reason why Zevran needs to appear in this game. I can think of dozens of reasons why he might, but none of which would really hurt the game if they were removed. Zevran's story is hardly essential to the main story.

I am disappointed myself. Both of my canon Wardens have him as a romance, and now I am considering changing one (to experience game differences) and am having a difficult time choosing which. While I can understand why he wont be there (and I appreciate that he is at least getting a mention [from what I hear]) I was still hoping for more considering the huge amount of screen time Leliana and Morrigan (and likely Alistair) are receiving.

It's tough being a Zevran-mancer. His letter glitches in DAA. His entire romance glitches in DA2. And now he doesn't even show up in DAI. Sigh. 

 

I'm gonna take this to mean the Warden won't be showing up either, which I'm totally fine with. But I won't be too pleased if my Warden shows up WITHOUT Zevran. Better they're both off adventuring somewhere I guess.

I'm OK with it, because he had a whole quest to himself in DA2 (unlike Alistair and Leliana) and even shows up to help you fight Meredith. I like to think he's not turning up in person because he's successfully taken over the Crows by this point and is busy in Antiva. (Or maybe he's the only LI who is physically with the Warden, wherever they went.)

 

Zevran showing up for the final battle is still one of my favourite moments from DA2. The first time I got to the end of the game, I was running all over dealing with Meredith and her many, many adds when I went 'hang on, who's tanking that statue for me? OH MY GOD IT'S ZEV!"

meh, his cameo in last game was kind of spur of the moment....  its like hey just dropped in to dry hump isabella for a minute, bye.  same with allistair last game, i always had him as king, but in that scenario it seemed like they brought him in to just say swooping is bad *two thumbs up pose* and run off stage.  I would at least like cameos to have a little more feel to them, more of a fit for the game rather than something that feels like they added on while looking for stuff to fill mission gaps cause they ran out of ideas.

I would have liked him to return, at least for a quick cameo. It would be good to see an updated design since DA2 was awful..

I could see Leliana calling him in for a favor to help her assassinate someone, help her with some mission or something like that. It would make more sense seeing him in DA:I in this kind of role than the random DA2 cameo we got.

Anyway, I guess it's confirmed he isn't in it.

Actually, he did say there will be content that acknowledges the romance:

 

"- - if Zevran is alive at the end of DAO, then he is still alive. There is content in DAI specific to him, and specific to an import where he was romanced in DAO… it just doesn’t, as Mark Darrah said in the Raptr Q&A, involve a personal appearance."

Not to mention, if you're a male PC, your epilogue slide glitches to refer to your PC as a woman when speaking about Zevran. That made me so mad!! I enjoyed romancing him for the most part, but the shear number of bugs/glitches specifically for his romance path reeeeally made him seem like his romance was an afterthought (his m/m path in particular).

Meh.  I've had my fill of him personally (and no pun intended).  Let's not forget that in DA2 he already received a cameo, which is a lot more than most of our former companions got.

And I'm glad for that! But it doesn't change that my experiences playing through DAO felt frustrating because of the glitches that prevented me from experiencing the full romantic content (I'm a console gamer so I couldn't just mod my game to avoid the bugs).

Is it really a lot more? Morrigan wasn't in DA2, but she and Leliana both got DLC, and they will both have large roles in DAI. Leliana and Alistair were both cameos in DA2, and Alistair will cameo in some capacity in DAI. I'm not seeing this "a lot more"? Unless you mean his cameo in DA2 is more than our DA2 companions will get in DAI? Which... well, we can't really say that for certain, can we? Unless something got confirmed that I didn't know about? Or maybe you're talking about ALL our companions and not just LIs. In which case, I guess we're talking about 2 different things, because I'm talking about how he is getting the short end of the stick with regards to former LI cameos, specifically.

Are you playing on PC?  Because there's a Zev related fan patch that fixes most of his bugs (including the slides).  I'm not even a Zevmancer and I use it, simply because of the huge number of bugs it fixes.

I'm really disappointed (arguably probably more than I should be lol).  After the bug that made him not recognise your romance with the Warden in DA2 I was hoping with the Keep he would make an appearance in this one and get it right to make up for it. 

 

I could go with Alistair instead as an import, but after Alistair =ditched me after the Landsmeet in my very first playthorugh I've always considered Zevran my Cannon LI.

Ahh well...
