DLC romance options? How would you feel about this idea?

But how would you feel if a dlc unlocked a new area, maybe where two npc's, perhaps new captains of the inquisition, stayed. (One male and one female) they wouldn't be too important to the overall plot, but could be nice romance options.

I think eight is plenty. Of course, I'm biased because I want to date everyone eventually and I'm planning eight Inquisitors. So this is the first DA game where extra romances via DLC wouldn't have much appeal.

Good thing then this is not really a "dating" game, huh!

8 is more than enough they dont need to waste resources on more, even if the resource amount for them in the dlc is small it is still a small portion best suited for other things

Romances aren't just something they pull out of their asses and sell off to people, they work hard to create the arcs and development and blahblahblah xD I don't mean to sound ranty but I highly doubt they'd ever do this, and if they did I'm sure it will make some fans angry more than happy. + Maybe you'll actually like some of them once you see them and meet them in game. Fully voiced and portrayed and all. Besides. Eight options equals more playthroughs as a person said, and I'm that guy who likes to experience everything so I'm generally satisfied, personally. But I understand if at the moment you're underwhelmed with the romance choices. As was I when DA2 came out, and little did I know I've been in love with Fenris ever since....

They did it with Sebastian Vael.

Lezbereal Sebastian was a total Javek, he was planned from the start and was probably on the disc. They made him DLC for the munnys.
They did it with Sebastian Vael.

Meh, I wouldn't mind them adding a romance to already existing characters, even if it was to even the playing field in regards to racial/gender equality like adding a romance subplot to a dwarf, qunari, or female elf(for straight males bummed their elfquisitors are forced to break the taboo of forming romantic relationships with the other races if they want to experience a romance, this being the main reason why i would even spend money on such an add-on)
but of course Bioware would never do this, so again...meh.

Going by words said elsewhere, normally have them as DLC cause they was cut, happened with three so far. I like Josie's appearance but waiting to talk to them still before deciding. Already going to be buried in this game for awhile.

i would like if in the future story dlc we would have new companions who would be romance option
for my male elf/kossith/dwarf Inquisiors bioware give nothing(not talking about blood magic and "we are not related to Orlais and Chantry")...i was hoping for sera at least and i think it was a real mistake to make the only non-shem and anti Orlais & Orlais Chantry female lesbian
most of companions and advisors was and always would be my(and for many peoples) enemies....Cassandra, Cullen(in DA2 i was dissapoint that i does not have a option to execute that bastard with Meredith) , Leliana(she was must be dead from DAo), Cole would be executed if bioware would give us such option but they as i can understand will dont with Lelianna, Culen and Cassandra
Dorian was not a Tevinter and magister for what some people waited for 2 games...yeah i would pick this exiled ex-Tevinter to learn how "Tevinter is "bad" and they does not approve gay marriage and bla bla bla" and send him far away or execute like i always do with Fenris
Bull is another Qunari spy what disapoint me because i hoped for a real Tal-Vashot who fights against Qun...so if he betray me for Qunari i would execute him
Vivienne is not a mage for what i fight so i think it would be a 50% that i would send her away
i am tired of Varrick(he was not a bad character but i and some people was having enought of him and hope for another dwarf in party...especialy Li and female)
the only characters with what i ok and be friend is Sera, Solas, Blackwall...Varrick and Vivienne are neutral for me...Bull is friend/enemy...and i would see what Josethine(scribe girl) is about but i will not romance(maybe i will try and only as a dwarf) Lelianna old girlfriend and Antivan...others will not have a mercy from me
so i am hoping for a new characters in future story DLC who as i hope would not be another shems and will not be connected with Orlais Empire, Orlais Chanrtry-Templars, Qunari, Antivan Crows

What's wrong with Josephine? She's not part of the Chantry or the Circle, she's an Antivan noblewoman. (And she's gorgeous and sounds like great fun.)

i said that i would see what Josephine is
but she is
1)Leliana old girlfrend(i does not know any bard Lelianna old friend who can be my friend as with her who was my enemy and i execute her in DAO)
2)Antivan-Antivan merchant(Antivans for many reasons my(not only me does not like them) least favorite nation in Thedas as with Qunari, Orlais and Starheven)
3)she is Antivan, Bi and merchant so i think she would be like Isabella/Zevran...and if my Inquisitors would want someone as them he would go to "bloomng rose"
4)and she is shem so only my dwarf inquisitor maybe romance her if she would be good

Believe it or not, you are not an elf.Humans are not shem<.<Neither zevran or Isabella were merchants, isabella was from rivain and Zevran from the dales so why are you even comparing? Anyway not all the romances have even been revealed.

my, and many others Inquisitor would be non-shem as a my and others Grey Warden
they were Antivan and not just that
Isabella was born in Rivain but when she was a child she was sold by her Qun brainwashed parents and she for many years live in Antiva as prostitute for rich friends of her old merchand "husband" before he was asasinated by Zevran and she get what she can and become a pirate
Zevran was a son of died prostitute(who was a dalish long before she met his antivan father and because of him she became a prostitute) who was as child sold for Crows
officially anonced most of all 8 romances
Cullen-getero
Cassandra-getero
Dorian-gay
Sera-Lesbi
Josephine-Bi
Varick-not a Li
Lelianna-not a Li
Cole-not a Li
and we left Bull, Solas, Vivienne and Blackwall
and 1-2 who is not a companion and advisor
i think that females will not have Blackwall because he is a old grey warden and soon he will die...and Bull because he is Qunari spy and for the same stupid thing as with dwarfs

They haven't told us about Varric one way or the other.
It seems likely that we'll get Vivienne, Iron Bull and one more out of Varric, Solas and Blackwall.

we will see maybe she will not be promiscuous like other Antivans and Antivans merchands but she is a Bi and old Lelianna friend

I thought Zevran was from Antiva? As for Josephine she is a noblewoman and diplomat from Antiva not a merchant and while she and Leliana know each other where has it been stated they were anything more than friends? Or are you using the platonic version of girlfriend? if so my bad.
Also where has it been confirmed Varric is not an LI? Because if that were the case I'm pretty sure there would be far more widespread disappointment from Varric fans.
Also just because she is Bi doesn't mean she has to be like Zevran and Isabella (by which I assume you mean promiscuous, sleeps around alot which by all accounts is Iron Bull's preference which makes me hope she would be written differently). If that's not what you meant what do you mean specifically?
As it happens I two would have liked more non-humans in the party too and there do seem to be an awful lot of pro-chantry folks in there at the moment but when we actually meet the characters we might find they don't match our guesses about them at all so hopefully you'll find people you like after all. ![]()
Edit: Fergus' wife Orianna in the human noble background in Origins was also Antivan and seemed like a decent person and wife and mother to their son so not sure why Antivans can't have a variety of people like anywhere else, some are nice some not so nice maybe.

This is not the same as confirming that he's not a romance option. A person can always love a past love, but still move on and love a new love as well. It happens all the time with people who are divorced or widowed. They might still love their first spouse, but move on and fall in love with a new person as well.

Josephine is nothing like either zevran or isabella. Maybe you should wait until the game is released to complain about romances.

Depends on the type of DLC.
BAD
+ Online Pass - worst thing I can imagine
+ Day one DLC's, the takes the biscuit, generally bad for gamers and the industry.
+ DLC that clearly was supposed to be part of the game but ripped out and packaged as a DLC - takes the biscuit
OK
+ DLC that does not impact the story too much then no problem especially if it makes people happy.
+ Alternatively should a DLC be released that extends the story a few months after the games release then I still be interested.
Nothing wring with a romance DLC if it makes people happy.
