So much this... I want to know that those Battlemaster skills looked like... xD
I'm also pretty sure they went over another Winter passive, so I'll be keeping an eye out for that.
Twitch tends to take ages for me to load, though I didn't have any issues watching it live so maybe it was just the laptop I was using before. Thanks!
Edit: Yeah, I'll just wait until it's on YouTube, there were a couple of different things I wanted to go back to and it's just so much easier there.

Fallback Plan acting as a healing spell for rogues is also weird... I won't rule anything out at this point.
Maybe in each spec there're two focus abilities, and you have to choose one. For example, in Artificier, a melee ability and Hail of Arrows? And in KE haste or resurgence? Would be nice.
Fallback plan is quite rogue-y in its functioning... And we have seen haste being used by mages :S

^This. For those who ever played WoW, Knight Enchanters get both "Cloak of Shadows" and "Spell Reflect". I have never finished a DA game as a Mage before. This might just change that.
Yes, SR saves the Spirit Blade. It's the key part of the spec and looks rather "boring"? You end up button mashing the thing because why engage in melee for just 1-2 swings?
The invulnerability talent is pretty awesome and there was oneother active iirc.

So it is a detonator? That redeems it slightly in my eyes... I'll have to think about that.

For any who missed it, the upgrade to the KE's Fade Cloak ability, "Decloaking Blast", caused 1000% weapon damage and a knockback ("blasted back with massive force") if you uncloak inside an enemy.
The passive below "Fade Cloak" was called "Veiled Riposte." Description: "Whenever you have a barrier active, enemies who attack you will take damage in return." The damage returned is listed as 20% and you also get +3 magic on unlock.
The upgrade to spirit blade is what gives it the ability to reflect attacks.

Defending blade
you deflect incoming projectiles with spirit blade sending a shockwave of energy back at the attacker.
should be useful hope it can deflect arrows and stuff like the giants rock.

Yeah. I'm pretty excited to play around with KE. They also mentioned that the spirit bade can hit multiple enemies at once, so there's another bonus to the ability.

So, KE is supposed for barrier-heavy focus. But interesting that barrier absorbed damage isn't extenuated by armor.

It will also rip through guard that say the avvar chief and equivalent powerful warriors can build up
.
Edit: also the last knight enchanter ability includes an upgrade just if you wanted to know.

Yes! I'm loving how KE has turned out to be more related to mages than I thought it'd be. I didn't like the idea of another AW. But this. is. awesome. Now I'll have to try out the 3 mages' specs as well! But Rift mage is first, for sure.

Wow! That settles it. My third playthrough will be as a Knight Enchanter. And the 2 second duration of Fade Cloak means that "Decloaking Blast" rather than being overpowered, will require some quick thinking, clever positioning, and reflexes. Get next to evil mage, Fade Cloak her big bad spell of doom, then step into her and Decloak. Sounds like tons of fun.

I do not care for how much Barrier has crept into other mage trees.
I have nothing against Barrier itself, but it's almost starting to look like an ability tax. You MUST have Barrier to get anything out of these (or at least have a companion who has it).

Any chance that, as a Knight Enchanter, we can cast a staff that like this:

It's a sustain. You're not button mashing. It also allows you to deflect blasts, which helps when a dragon aims a fireball at you.

But barrier makes perfect sense for the KE, which is meant to be a tank.

I don't think it's meant to be a tank... they actually said it was less tanky. I think it is meant to be a melee dps, you still can't build guard. But I guess it can be built as one wants.

I'm still not familiar enough with the relative mechanics of DA:I. What's guard? I take it it's some form of superior damage mitigation? Because at least compared to DAO, the AR has a lot of durable tank-like options, including dmg mitigation.

I have a question. can you still fire off auto-attacks with your staff with the spirit blade sustain on?
