1. More abilities that rely on activation timing? WOW factor is here, sure, but what about its usage with tactics and pause-and-play? Or it's another ability that'll require entirely too much micro-management to be of sufficient efficiency?
2. Spell that "summons spirits to help you" outside of specialisation that has "summon spirits to help you" in it's job description? Is Animate Dead (or what ever it is now) a Focus spell for Necromancer now?
3. Did they ever select all party at once? Drag-and-select is a base functionality of mouse-enabled interface, I'm surprised that they didn't show it.

Why are we assuming Haste is a mage spell?  Couldn't it be a Tempest ability?

....we have seen Vivienne and the Inquisitor cast it.

Cause it slows time for the whole party and tempests aren't mages?

@Icy Magebane:  Well - technically Haste was a Creation tree spell - so that's kinda "life".

Still - it does seem strange.

Maybe "your life passing by".  I dunno.

I don't think I ever dragged to select the entire party at once in either DA:O or DA2.

I must say Specialisations and Focus abilities are making no sense right now. We've seen Vivienne casting Firestorm, QunQuiz casting Stonefist + Haste, Artificer with Hail of Arrows with Mike saying Specialisations are weapon independent.... I feel like we're missing something, but from the Twitch is came off as Resurgence being the hard Focus skill for KE. I know they can build demos to show off whatever they want, but still.

Some of these are based on older builds, no?

Yeah, it was a Creation spell, that's true...

Yes there should be a hotkey to select all, deselect all, add companion to party. All three should be in there.

I did all the time. I did this to select 2 or three party members who were close to each other as well.

Yes, especially Vivienne casting Firestorm. I'm just pointing out that one thing we've seen belies another thing we've seen, so I'm waiting until I see a definitive 'THIS IS THE SKILL TREES, THIS IS HOW FOCUS ABILITIES COME INTO PLAY' explanation before I count anything as a certainty.

I'm pretty sure something like CTRL-A or another button let you select everyone as I recall. Otherwise I just clicked on the portraits.

I bound the select all party to mouse sidebutton. I used it for every single fight. I've never used drag as well.

That reminds me that I need to get a better gaming mouse.

I posted this in the dedicated KE thread, but since it's being discussed here too:

Regarding active vs sustained for spirit blade ....

Shortly after 38:49 in the Twitch demo, you can see both the spirit blade in use (three or so times) and the keyboard (although there appears to be a bit of a delay between the two).  It looks to me like he's pressing 1 every time he uses spirit blade, but I'm not on a big enough screen, atm, to be sure.

So with much pausing I looked at all of the Forces, Secrets and Inquisition perks and it turns out the tiers of Focus abilities are unlocked through Forces perks, which increases your maximum Focus. So it does look like the Focus bar will eventually be a full circle, with the effects depending on what tier you've collected up to before you activate it. I just wish I'd seen the Diplomacy ones!

I always wondered what that glowy yellow circle bar was in the demos with xbone controler. And yeah it looks like in the twitch demo he only had one bar able to execute.

Yeah, but they need four other perks to be purchased from the tree beforehand, which is a little annoying. The bonus experience for killing enemies look good, but the others I'm not interested in.

I'm not really worried about the 4 prerequisites myself. Its better then at the end of the tree. 9 points can be spent in this tree. Yeah if focus is tied to perks I find that kind of unique. Also looking at the tier three focus abilities they look really powerful.

So since Perks are kinda like skill trees I thought I'd post them here for anyone interested. I'm not computer literate so I'm just writing them down, but if you want to see them yourself and have a quick finger, they start showing them around the 21:25 mark:

Spoiler

EDIT: Placed them under spoiler tag just in case.

I wonder if its possible to get every perk in one play through? That would definitely be the best thing they could do, because we get what, 35 skill points max? I was hoping for double the amount of skill points but meh...

I believe somebody asked recently and was told you can't. You can get a lot, but still limited to a point where what you choose does matter. Which makes me hope that you unlock more as you play, because if this all of them, it looks like you pretty much need to get everything for the ones you might actually want.

I very much hope you do not get every Perk in one playthrough.  In fact - I actually hope you only get about 1/3 in any given playthrough (allowing you to finish approx. one full tree).

God, they're all nice (except the mount ones imo).

And WOW to Enhanced Studies. Does that just mean hovering over the target in Tactical Camera?
