Since KE compliments the Spirt tree, I wonder if the other specializations compliment the other trees.
Rift Mage would then be Storm and Inferno.
Which means that Necromancer would go with Winter.

I can see Winter and Necromancer pairing nicely. It would make Winter worth investing points towards.
My goal for the winter spells is to immobilize/slow/divide foes the tank and rogue can pick off. Had not thought of the blizzard spell. Will have to look at that tree again. You're correct, you have to go a long ways for that spell. I kinda like the idea of being an eclectic mage, and having several elemental spells at my disposal.
I like the storm tree the most, so I know I'll place several points in there as well as the spirit tree. Inferno comes third. Don't need them all, but I few will do. Finally, maybe then the winter tree. I will attempt to max out the specialization.
Seeing how we only get eight slots for active abilities and there's the Mark of the Rift ability (curious if that gets a tree), I'll be thinking this over.

Yeah, being versatile is a smart plan. You don't want to build a pure pyromancer and then wind up surrounded by rage demons... Right now, I have my eye on the following abilities for the Inquisitor:
Spirit Blade, Fade Cloak, Fade Step, Barrier, Chain Lightning, Energy Barrage, Immolate, Resurgence.
If he uses an Ice staff, then he'll have at least 1 spell from each damage type. I don't expect the ice damage from Fade Step's upgrade to be substantial, so I'll be using Energy Barrage, which takes on the element of the staff being used at the time. I kind of want to use Mark of the Rift, but I'll have to see it in action before I commit to that. Resurgence is too tempting to easily switch out.
As for other specializations complimenting specific trees, that could easily be the case. I'm not entirely sure what to expect from that, but if Necromancers can use Fear spells, they would get a boost from the "Pyromancy" perk (+25% Fear, Burning Duration). For non-mages, there is an Artificer passive that boosts the damage of traps, so that should work well if the rogue has Caltrops. There may be overlap in other areas as well, but only time will tell.
I hope that Bioware adds new talents/spells trees in dlc.
Nature and entropy spells trees for mages.
Bard and Ranger talents for rogues.
And Spirit Warrior and Guardian talents for warriors.
And yes, it looks like that Knight Enchanter is great with Spirit tree.
And Rift Mage for elementals spells.
But Necromancer with what? If we think about a compliment themed spells.

Interesting Build, and I agree. Being elementally diverse is a smart plan so that you don't get caught off guard.
For those who haven't seen my Gale's theorycraft build:
What I plan to map, as of now: Immolate, Fade Step, Winter's Grasp, Wall of Ice, Energy Barrage, Firestorm, Barrier, Chain Lightning/Rift Mage Active
I wish Tempest Skill info would be release since it is a new Specialization designed to be Rogue's Mage Specialization.
We know that Artificer is a Trapper/Support Tree best for Bow Rogues due to the Ultimate Focus skill called Hail of Arrows which allows a Bow Rogue to Double attack with no damage decrease for a certain amount of time along with Passive skills designed to be Party buffs.
Assassin we can understand as a returning Specialization best designed for stealth combat and performing higher damage to Marked Targets which is useful for killing strong enemies and bosses which has been good for both Dagger and Bow Rogues.

With my luck I will always run into a creature who is immune to the powers I like to use.
Impressive set of spells you plan to start with., and smart to use a staff that gives you cold attacks.
I'm planning to use: Chain Lightning, Energy Barrage, Barrier, Mind Blast, Winter's Grasp, and Immolate. I'm going to reserve the final two slots for possible necromancer spells (if I get the spec).
Some of the passives for Spirit, and Storm look quite useful as well, so I'll be happy to take those.

No upgrade for Chain Lightning then? Do you think it's not worthwhile or are you low on talent points? The rest of this looks good. I get the feeling that Firestorm is going to quickly put an end to most battles with multiple enemies... Also, the Wall of Ice should be a good hiding spot when you are low on mana so that you can take advantage of Winter's Stillness... ![]()

That Mind Blast ability is great for casters... you do not want to get swarmed or have somebody sneak up on the mage while the tank is busy elsewhere. Plus, it is an eldritch detonator, so it might have some offensive use as well, but I'm not entirely sure what the effects of combos are this time. Either way, I will definitely be giving that to Solas and perhaps Vivienne as a backup plan.
And yeah, the passives look great so far. I expect the ones in Necromancy and Rift Mage will also be impressive...

Chain Lightning I will probably get the upgrade for later in the game, but the mentioned spells are the priorities for me at the moment. That said, I'm also looking at maybe grabbing Dispel, which require Peaceful Aura. Dispel is gonna be great for knocking the guard off of Behemoths and the Barriers off of demons.

That's why I will be dragging Cassandra along on most of our adventures... her Templar spec is almost guaranteed to have that power. When I want to switch things up a bit, there's always Solas my Spirit expert...

Hmmmmm, Cass can probably knock out the demons, but that guard over the Behemoth health bar worries me. And I suppose I can eventually slot Dorian with the Dispel debuff, since I'll be taking him to most places.

I am so going to have a lot of fun trying to build this mage. Already told myself to pick a human for the extra ability point.
I do want to see the detonation combo. I hope I get some real damage from it.
Also I hope to have some flask. I will hit people with bees, fire, poison, whatever I get my hands on. Mainly bees to mess with them. It's such a spiteful thing to do, that I should name my mage, "Scorn."
Walking bomb is worth it for necromancy. So loved this spell in DA:O.

Wait, does the Behemoth have Barrier or Guard? Both? I didn't watch that video... I mean, if it's both, or just Guard, I guess I can have Inquisitor Lavellan get off his lazy rump and attack with Spirit Blade since that does a great deal of extra damage to Guard.
I'm not gonna go too diverse as I will have Dorian in my party so I will just give him spells from the elements my Quizzy doesn't use.
So for Fenalen Lavellan.
Storm: 12 (maxed)
Spirit: 4 (I only want mind blast and guardian spirit)
Necromancy: 10 (maxed)
Inferno: 0
Winter: Whatever I have left. I want Fade Step and I would love to get Blizzard but I don't think I will have the points.
That's 26 which I think is reasonable. It's also possible that one or two of the abilities I want will be starting abilities and I will probably get the extra skill point perk. So I might just manage fade step and who knows, I might make it a bit closer to 30 and mange to get more ice spells.

rofl... I like that actually. Scorn, the bee-tossing mage. When magic isn't enough, the Jar of Bees adds insult to injury. xD
I forgot about dispel. One of my mages is gonna have to carry that power. Between them and Cassandra, I'd like to shut down magic-based foes.

I like it... this is very close to what I initially envisioned for Dorian, except I threw Immolate into the mix just to give him access to another element (and the Flashpoint and Clean Burn passives...). That's the other thing about traveling with multiple mages... so long as you have at least 2-3 elements covered, you should be able to handle whatever you run into... plus, Energy Barrage is pretty versatile depending on what staves you have in the inventory...
Guard. It had an entire bar of guard over its health bar.
*sigh* I guess Lavellan is going to have to get some exercise after all...

You Spirit Blade, and I'll Dispel lol.
You Spirit Blade, and I'll Dispel lol.
Do we even know if Dispel remove it?
I've seen a weapon screenshot with an enchantment that increase damage vs guard.
You Spirit Blade, and I'll Dispel lol.
You know what? I was wondering about other options and I found one: the Guard Smasher passive for two handers... it does 100% bonus damage vs. Guard, so having a warrior with this perk should work wonders vs. those Behemoths.
edit: I got
'd though. I think azarhal and I are talking about the same ability...
I am thinking to be a mage with all knight enchanter and spirit spells available.
I love to be a protector and healer mage with some damage too ![]()
