Meh, if I wanted to whack people with a sword, I'd play a warrior, not some cheap imitation of a Jedi. Rift mages are the true masters of the Art. You could never be as cool as me.

:P

Indeed, since cold air stays near the ground, and hot goes up, then you, with your ear glued to the ground, are way cooler :P

P.S. May the F(H)orce be with you.

Knight Enchanter are proper imitation of a Jedi, they can even reflect projectiles back to their source.

I still hope to make my KE a magical tank. I do wish there was an option that lasted a bit longer than barrier though, barrier just depletes so quickly... But on the other hand we still don't know 3 of the KE passives and one active. I hope that those passives give a huge boost to defense and survivability on their own without just boosting barrier. I really hate how many abilities are tied to barrier. Either way, heres to hoping that we can acquire/ craft armor that really bulks up our defenses. It does make all those lovely guard generating abilities in the vanguard tree look all the more appealing.

If you want an extra ability point, I say human. If you want to be part of the lore and and try something unique, I'd say Qunari.

For those of you who are dalish mage fans (like myself)
this you will enjoy.

The character that was created looks great.

And the qunari melee defence could come in handy against melee enemies.....
I wish we knew a little more about the qunari mage backstory. Id like to know where they learnt their magic from.

I revised my inquisitor list again.

Sigh. I fear i will spend more time in character creation than playing the SP at this point in time hahaha

I know the feeling lol. I have at least narrowed it down to either a KE or Templar first though. I am tempted to play an Elf, but that extra point for human is just too tempting for me.

I'm going to guess from other apostates. The mercenaries the Qunari mage runs with may have seen their mage as a great asset and sought out a decent non-circle mage.

Im curious as to how the iron bull will react to a qunari mage.
I expect it to be much more strongly than say a rogue Qunari.

I am sure they will.

Bioware wanted the abilities to make you feel like they really mattered when you cast them. Even Immolate has been changed, and now feels much stronger with the sound alone.

Reaver has the claw attack we saw in MP, and Devour's animation is a "GIMME YOUR HEART AND I EAT IT" one, so it must be quite fun to do.

yea, I wondered about that as well.

I mean, the first is going to be somethig like the continuous damage aura (a toggle probably). I doubt I'll use that, mainly because I never liked it before, and unless this works off guard as well, health is too precious a resource this time around to actually use that as a minor damage increaser. If the increase is significant however... who knows.

Devour will be awesome. I'm still hoping for a vampire-like neck sucking animation, but I 'll probably be a bit dissapointed there :/ Still, I can't remember where exactly I saw it, but didn't devour have a really short cooldown and high stamina cost? (I think it was a multiplayer video) It'd be nice to have a short cooldown devour. That should also fit together well with the gore and trample update.

Now this is just speculation but I think that reaver claw is the devour animation. I'm thinking the final ability from reaver will be something more like haste the more you kill or damage increase the more you kill... something like sacrificial frenzy in DAII in combination with barrage? gah, This is the most wanted tree for me -_-

I think the passives will be a combination of the berserker and reaver from DAII. Mainly fervor, barrage, blood frenzy... adrenaline, even? I don't know, I'm just hoping here :P

I'm sure he'll have some reservation, however, even IB breaks Qun rules. He'll come around.

New video that takes the time to go through the base class trees (but didn't check the Fade Step upgrade, sigh). (edit: It's from DA Fan).

Interesting. Nice to see what the Battlemaster tree finally does--looks to be the utility tree.

I'm still a little curious as to how selecting talents work. I heard you can only have eight "activated" abilities and as many "passives" as you want--is that true? If so it would make choosing talents a lot harder, especially since you sometimes need to take an active to get to the active you really want.

So looking at that I think I have a general idea of how I will spec my warrior. Let's say I reach at least level 24 which should give me 25 skill points as I'm going Qunari. I'll probably end up with more points but this is a good average.

Two Handed Warrior(25 points)

Two-Handed(6 points)

Mighty Blow + upgrade

Shield Breaker

Whirlwind+upgrade

Clear a Path

Battlemaster (6 points)

Grappling Chain+upgrade

Crippling Blow

Coup de Grace

Horn of Valor+Upgrade

Vanguard (7 points)

Warcry+upgrade

Challenge(not using it but I need it for the passives)

Charging Bull+upgrade

Trust the Steel

Cutting Words

Reaver (6 points)

???

So basically, my guy will be all about crowd control and buffing himself and the party.

I feel like kissing this person whoever they are.

But now I wonder - for the purposes of the lightning cage, do 12 projectiles in an energy barrage count as single event, or...

So, hah! Woot! I knew that passive probably involved bonus dmg vs taunted enemies, but the whole 'party' gets 20% dmg boost? Sweeeet. Little bummed that right skills dmg transfer related, never been a big fan of that. It's nice to see upgraded it'll halve the dmg coming at you though, but that skill is a good way to get your tank killed if stuff goes horribly wrong. Can you imagine a dragon fireball multi-hitting your group before you can properly react? You might of survived, but with that skill on hes gonna be taking up to 150% more dmg then he took him self.

Anyway that just means I got an active skill slot that's free so wootles on that end. Maybe I'll actually use unbowed or something. Either way all those passives have to be mine, every last one.

-edit-

The lightning strike dmg one is a great question. It may have a per-second, per-target limiter going on but it may not. The Energy Barrage in it's own description does count how many times it 'hits'. And each one is a separate damage tick so.. one would assume if there isn't some kind of per-second limiting factor on the lightning strikes it could end up being an absurd amount of hits.
