It's an assumption based on re-using the icons that these are Templar passives. The names scream mage and nature based, not anti-magical warriors anyway.

There is also a Templar MP character. If those are Templar passives, does it mean that the Templar has the Keeper-like passive?

It would be very weird to use the same icon and color palettes yet portray different abilities/effects. You may be right, but I'm just saying it's strange. Especially since the Rift Mage passives/actives shown in the multiplayer match the single player, as does Templar stuff.

I just realized that Fire Mine does a grand total of 3200% Weapon Damage when upgraded, adding all of the DoT.

I'm going to be making a Qunari Knight Enchanter delving into lightning and fire trees.

I'm just wondering if burns react to Eldritch detonators.

-Fade Cloak

-Decloaking Blast (fade cloak upgrade)

-Veiled Riposte passive

-Resurgence Focus Ability

-Unknown passive

-Unknown passive

-Unknown passive

Total: 9

Overall Total: 24

Hotkey Build

Spirit Blade, Energy Barrage, Fade Cloak, Barrier, Static Cage, Winter's Grasp, Dispel, Resurgence

Note: I will be swapping between Dispel with Shock and Resurgence with Inquisitor-based focus abilities when I feel appropriate.

24 sounds about right for end-game level. Obviously since the unknown passives in Knight Enchanter could turn out to not be so great, I might not invest in them. I don't really enjoy the final active in the tree "Disruption Field." Very small radius, and its stasis upgrade wears off as soon as you hit the target. Kind of a bummer.

Mind you this is only for my Inquisitor. I won't be disregarding many cool abilities from Inferno, Winter, or Spirit because I'm making our companions specialize in them.

EDIT: Reread Winter's Chill and turns out it doesn't freeze multiple targets...only chills them, so I won't be investing in that!

3600 with pyromancer, it's glorious.

It'll probably be fire + lightning for me, but it's really hard to say more without knowing what the other 2 specializations have.

They're not.

Also, Disruption Field, is too small radius-wise, just 3 meters, to be like the haste spell we saw. It was even affecting the Dragon in that video, and it specifically says that "Enemeis larger than the area are immune".

It's basically something that slows movement and attack speed, which is pretty powerful on its own.

Lol I was trying to troll since all non warriors are marshmallows in my eyes. Now that I'm finally off work I can sit down and anayzle all these skills.

As my friend Tyrion would say, you haven't been paying attention :P

Anyway, fun fact, they have at least one Force Mage spell in them.

Knight Enchanters.

Wielding a sword like the Jedi.

With Force spells.

Darth Vader inc.

One of the gameplay videos showed the Inquisitor at level 24 in the Emprise de Lion area, so I'm hoping that means we can level at least a little farther.  I'd really like to basically max out Storm, Spirit and Necromancer, replacing some of the elemental abilities in my eight hotkey with necromancer one once I progress in that tree.

Are there staves that deal spirit damage?

I'm pretty sure I saw one somewhere in one of the bazillions of videos that we have.

Damage types are physical, fire, ice, electric and spirit.

There was nature damage from Stonefist once upon a time, but I am not sure since I have not seen Stonefist for ages. Might have become physical.

Why Bioware is killing nature damage?

DAO is great.

DA2 just staves and Merrill's spells.

Pretty sure rogue poison stuff is also nature, always has been anyway. No direct spells though on mage at base that use it. I'd imagine most of necromancer is physical or spirit, but I wouldn't be shocked if it had some nature involved, damage wise. I don't think they got rid of nature, we just haven't seen full list of stuff, and most footage for the past few weeks have all been super lowbe stuff. Which I mean if nature dmg related spells aren't part of that, not like you'd see it. But again, we've seen the poison doing the green nature dmg... it's there.

-edit-

Oh and I'm currently thinking for my main char (Qunari/Warrior/Reaver), 9 in 2H, 8-9 in Vanguard and 11 in Reaver. That's just shy 30, and may have to shuffle stuff later on. Really want the stamina bit from 2H but I only want Block and Attack as my active, maybe pummel strike... maybe.

Only abilities I'm sticking to, atm, are Block n Attack, War Cry, Charging Bull, and all skills in Reaver (unless I dislike the new one and the focus). Gives me 1 extra floating slot for something else. Definitely going to ignore the right side of the 2H for later in the game.

They used an alpha build so spec abilities were all over the place. That said, we did see Solas use Resurgence.

Thanks to DA FAN's glorious video, I decided to burn through some of the 13 day agonising wait by plotting some rough builds for my Inquisitor and companions for my first playthrough. It didn't work so well since I still have 12.5 days, but moving on...

I arbitrarily decided on 20 points, ignoring racial bonuses, extra points we'll surely earn in the game as well as hearing a soft 30 level cap (I've seen a lv 29 Inq. at least), so it's actually going to be much different, just a general direction (with KE being the only specialisation I really know much about). I'm also assuming that focus collects without needing the ability hotkeyed, so I chose not to hotkey (denoted by *) them with the intention of switching them in before battles I expected to use them.

I realize it's a-ways off still, but the way the MP skill trees work has me thinking some serious thoughts about how skills could work in DA4.

Imagine if the PC was the only character that had access to everything (just like they do now).

in contrast, what if the companions had personalized trees like in MP. So, for instance, Vivienne could be more geared towards aggressive/damaging magic. So, for actives only, she would have the following available:

Storm: Chain Lightning, Energy Barrage

Inferno: Immolate, Wall of FIre, Fire Mine

Winter: Fade Step, Winter's Grasp

Spirit: Barrier, Mind Blast, Dispel,

KE: Spirit Blade, The-Snail-One

That said, they wouldn't be grouped like that. Instead, she could have 3 trees: Unbowed Will (Spirit spells plus passives related to defense and survival), Enchanter's Wrath (Offensive tree with Storm, Inferno, and Winter spells), and maybe another like KE with some maybe personal ones mixed ins a la DA2?

Solas, in contrast, could have a very different flavor of magic - I think of it as more spirit-based and more defensive in general (though not without offense). So he could have Dreamwalker (the whole Spirit tree, essentially), Calm Before the Storm (Winter's Grasp, Fade Step, Chain Lighting, Blizzard, Lightning Bolt, Static Cage), and Fade Expertise (Some nice mana-based passives plus Rift Mage stuff).

It's obviously a rough idea, but I really like the idea. And this would be for all classes, at least in my mind. The only issue is that it would probably require weapon restrictions again for companions, which is the biggest downside. But still, I really find it a neat idea because I think it would be far more interesting for party builds and reflect different proclivities for companions. The key is that they would all still have to have different viable builds, just like they said about the Keeper - there's a focus, sure, but there are different ways of playing the Keeper even so. Thus it would be with Vivienne and Solas and so on and so forth.

I dunno, I'm interested in this.
