So the OP is updated with the Necro tree and link, and the link to the Templar, KE and Reaver abilities we have seen. Is that everything?

Losing mana and health combined with the right passives and actives is a good thing.  Increased cooldown reduction, damage, etc.

Take a touch of barrier on all mages so the damages goes up and stays up because the barriers do, or ride the line straight down to Necro.  Guardian Spirit Kicks in with Mind Blast upgrade straight to Clean Burn's increased damage, which ends enemies faster. Combine that style of killing with Necro to increase health, mana and damage with each victory.

The best Defence now being Superb Offense.

As a last resort use Simulacrum.

Losing Health and Mana only to ride that fine line between damage and death is where this build is headed.

Yeah mikey I think that's about all of it today... all that delicious information. Really hope we manage to get all of it by release. We're soo close.

-edit-

@herkles: no idea Herkles, best i got is there are 3 elemental skills (fire, cold, lightning). I have no idea what they 'actually' do though so...

We don't really know much about Tempest, Assassin (other then it's probably similar to past Assassin), Champion and some of the Templar stuff. Don't know the exact makeup of Rift Mage but we got a damn good idea and know the 3 active skills and what they do.

make that 20 secs with the upgrade.

Holy crap!!!

Actually it might only be 18 seconds assuming the 8 seconds is added after the Pyro bonus?

Seems too strong though because with the 20 sec cooldown, not counting any cooldown reduction, you could virtually perma Fear 1 target right out of the battle.

Edit: I assume a lot of these type of effects like Panic etc will not work on Dragons and Bosses etc?

I saw Cole activate something called "Scent of Blood" in one of the gazillion videos that came out today.

and, i'm back!

Necromancer looks amazing and exactly as I thought it would be right down to death siphon being in the tree as a passive, It's cool that you can also use it to regain health. I am a bit annoyed about haste being shoved in there with no explanation as to why but I expected it so not too bothered.

Perhaps because Haste in DAI is associated with time slowdown, not the speeding up of your party's movement. Time slowdown and character movement speed increase are two completely different things.

Necromancer is associated with death. Death primarily comes because of time. So perhaps because we have some control over how to manipulate things associated with death, we now have control over how to manipulate time.

A good example of this is, oddly, comes from Interstellar. Time slowdown reduces aging because time is relative.

However, IMO, Bioware should have renamed the skill into something else like Time Spiral or Time Warp as opposed to Haste.

Played properly, I don't see why Necromancers even need to invest heavily in Barrier.

They can just regenerate their health & mana back, they have pets, they have DOT spirit attacks which is one of the least resisted magic in DA universe, they can fear people and if they die, a Lich-form of themselves appear and it can cast spells for 10 freaking seconds without using any mana...

Liquid Lyrium :- That is not the Tempest tree. Tempest is a rogue specialization.

Well, after all the gushing and fawning over those Chantry-kowtowing Knight Enchanters, its time for Necromancers to show who is boss.

@Eccentrick79: I hope they work how your thinking they do, keep in mind no resist/armor works with barrier. That is, barrier always takes 100% of the damage coming in, you could have elemental immunity and x5 armor of a warrior and it would still take full damage. So that 50% passive in ice has no effect on it, but ive is still a great controlling spec. That said the Barrier per Spirit Attack seems to be like 20-25% of your total barrier (it's 30% of dmg done so that'll vary) so you don't really need it as long as your spirit bladin'.

You make a good point, though I was thinking more about the Ice Armor being a fallback...especially since it's so far down the tree.  In practice, I plan to rely on the multiple Barrier perks from Spirit and possibly carrying another mage with me so that Barrier can be up at most times.  When Barrier fails, Mana Surge goes off freezing nearby enemies and I can Fade Step out of combat, possibly even dropping a Wall of Ice to keep distance or to buy myself some time (with proximity to the ice wall giving Ice Armor bonuses until I can regain Barrier).  Also, Winter Stillness sounds perfect for regaining a portion of MP while my foes thaw and close back in, giving me a few more swings with the Spirit Blade until my battery drains once again.

That, and fighting inside a raging blizzard of my own creation, slicing through my opponents with concentrated magic while they slowly turn to ice just sounds amazing.  Friendly Fire being turned off in my first playthrough, of course, since that inaugural run is all about the fun.

Oh god I feel so stupid now lol.

I really hope it's not a matter of supplicating to the Chantry as much as it is, "You'll give me the dispensation and teach me the skills or I'll make what happened at the Kirkwall Chantry seem like a mouse farting in the wind."

My Dalish Elf has no intention of drinking the shemlens' religious poison, but she has every intention of taking their practical secrets by force if necessary.

Well it's an explanation i guess but it was still obviously just shoved in there because there was nowhere else to put it. Still though, I wont be bothering that much with barrier if I can help it so necromancer will help a lot. Does anyone know when we actually unlock our specs?

I'm sorry.  After my experience with spoilers and ME2, I definitely feel your pain.  But the way you phrased it, I just had to make this:

LOL YES. How'd you know?

It really pissed me off, usually gamespot has a disclaimer in the beginning saying "the following review contains spoilers". Not this time.

Whatever. I don't want to discuss it. I don't even know if we're refering to the same spoiler, because I x'ed out the window ASAP and began swearing up a storm.

My own fault I guess, I was looking for skills for this tree.

Thanks for the support though :)
