Guess what, Eluvianus? GUESS WHAT?  :o

At 23:22 in this video, we see Immolate's upgrade, Wildfire.

Wildfire

Immolate burns hotter and has a shorter cooldown time, allowing you to rain fire upon your enemies more often.

Fire Damage Bonus: 100% Weapon Damage

Burning: 75% Weapon Damage per second

Cooldown Reduction: 4 seconds

Let me one up you, dear. :P

RIFT MAGE:

Spoiler

I declare myself winner.

Tier 3 being 55 meteors is hilariously overpowered.

I want to be necromancer so bad but are you bloody kidding me? That sort of firepower is ridiculous.

Just imagine both you and Solas casting it at the same time. That'd probably take out a decent chunk of dragon health.

Especially if it's vulnerable to fire like that Mistral was.

a big thanks to everyone for posting the Spec trees!!

it's interesting that Champion is like a pure tank spec.  Templar is more of a buffer.  and I guess Reaver is DPS??

Rift Mage still looks to be the most underwhelming.  so much potential with that one and it just seems like they "wasted" it by including stuff like Stonefist and Firestorm.

Necromancer actually looks kind of cool.  I might actually role a Necro mage.

But, I'm still going with Templar for my Warrior and Knight Enchanter for my Mage as my primary playthroughs.

There is no ability in the Necromancer tree called "Raise Dead Enemy Corpse to Become Your Minion"?

I am disappoint. Isn't that what necromancy is all about?

im gonna assume you missed the last like....20 pages lol and aren't ****-posting. thats what most necromancy is about. in thedas however, it's usually about the manipulation of spirits(the dead). that can involve binding them into the bodies of the deceased, but thats not really the focus of thedosian necromancy.

Considering all the talk about ridiculous numbers, it got me wondering if the Tempest focus skill deals the same amount of damage to surrounding enemies as well as the main target.

I mean, 38 cuts x 300% weapon damage is 11,400 damage, which is just outrageous...

If that's the case though, I've finally found a class and spec to play :D

'Attack' is damage output. Not sure on defense. I mean I assume Defense is chance to avoid taking dmg from that source, but it could also be %resist. Thing is though, you have 'Magic Defense' but then you have specific resistances for different elements. So, you know, that leads me to assume defenses are chance to avoid damage instead of soak up damage. Kinda interesting how they're handling attributes this time. Willpower is a universal damage boost? That means each character has 2 attributes that can boost their damage... interesting.

-edit-

Then again, Defense could still be %resist and Elemental Resist could just apply after that as a further, more specific thing. RPG's do that sometimes.

Rift Mage looks lame. There, I said it. I'm disliking its major emphasis on this new status effect of "weakening." All weakening does is reduce the damage enemies do for a time.

Interestingly enough, it seems that I was right and most of everyone else (from like 1.5 years back) were wrong! I guessed that Rift mage was going to be like Force mage from DA:2 while everyone thought it had to do with fade magics.

We were both correct and both incorrect. Veilstrike and Pull of the Abyss are basically force mage abilities. Stonefist is completely out of place and a wasted addition. Firestorm is also really randomly placed and I feel like it missed a good opportunity to really make the tree something new.

55 meteors though...Rift is almost worth spec'ing into just for the Focus Ability.

That Rift Mage ability...it's like Meteor Swarm from DnD on steroids. O.o

After seeing both the Tempest and Assassin trees...I'm still not sure what to pick, though more out of disappointment than anything. Assassin looks boring and Tempest looks just...weird. Sort of all over the place. And worse, they both seem to be made for a melee Rogue >:

Hmm, so Constitution increases Health, but Willpower no longer increases Mana/Stamina?  Will we only be able to increase that through gear, or maybe it increases automatically as we level?

I believe I saw some mid-game videos where the characters still had 100 Mana/Stamina, so it's possible that we won't be able to increase it by a large amount.

If so, this would definitely affect my skill builds, because we might not be able to use a lot of high-cost abilities unless our characters regain Mana/Stamina very quickly. This might make low-cost skills more valuable.
