I wish there was an ''arcane blade to her face'' interrupt at that point. You don't talk to 4 mages like that.
She's been through enough :/

And because of that it's ok to tell a mage that said mage shouldn't have their magic? Hint: I enjoy my magic quite a lot.

To be fair she doesn't say "you shouldn't have magic", she says "you shouldn't have this kind of power." I'm sure she recognizes the uses magic has as well.
And if you're not an ignorant Mage, you will understand way she feels that way. It's true, no one should have that power and it is something to be feared. But it is what it is and it can't be stopped.
That's actually the ideology I've given to my canon Warden and Hawke. They're both Mages, but understand why people fear magic. In a way, they fear magic as well, as it could consume them if they're not careful, but it propels and inspires them to be that much benevolent with their use of it.

She didn't say that, as far as I recall.
Beside, why it might not be ok, tortured people aren't exactly lucid right after the torture.

Gah. This subject really gets to me.

I understand her but my mages love the power and embrace it. I understand why people fear mages and rightly so, but that doesn't mean that I think it would be better without magic, I am a mage after all.

She said NONE should have, means your mage included.
Torture doesn't really make you say things that you don't believe, if anything it opens you up to being more honest when you are desperate.
In What way?
Leliana's torture, generally. :/
Especially after gamespot's courteous spoiler. F**kers.
Actually, no. Torture can change a person's perspective, and still, right after torture you might Not be in a good mental state. She said NONE should have, means your mage included.

Also, with that line she might've meant the power to do What was happening at Redcliffe.
Ok, so her perspective changed.. aaand now she is more against mages, meaning against me.
Many mage can do it really, Alexius is not a special snowflake.

But when she said "this power" I think she referred to being having the power to screw with the fade and destroy an entire land aka Redcliffe, I think she was referring to a very specific magic power, not all magic generally. For instance, how could people fear Mage Healers?
Interesting perspective though. For me (and my Mages) it's not that they like having magic and being a mage, nor do they feel an obligation to help their kind, but they accept who they are and they know they can't change that. So instead of fearing themselves and dwelling on their lives, they make the most of their magic but using it in a way that benefits worthwhile causes, not to gain more personal power.

Yes ^ exactly how I interpreted her words

I wonder If I an have a sarcastic response along the lines: ''Damn, what happened to your freaking face?''
Not necessarily. First, you don't have to send her, and second, she might apologize for What she said after a While.Ok, so her perspective changed.. aaand now she is more against mages, meaning against me.

They can still get possessed dough.

You're terrible!
Alright, going back on topic now.
Back on topic, I just noticed that Mana surge has NO COOLDOWN. So basically any time someone takes the barrier HP to zero, everybody around the mage get frozen, and primed for a combo! That's like every time you restore like 1/10 of your barrier via hitting someone, and then catch a random hit that penetrates your barrier, boom everyone around frozen.
Back on topic, guys...

Yeah. Not sure if I should get it though, partly because I don't understand how it works. Is it ANY time your barriers drop to zero, including when it deteriorates itself? Or only getting broken by an actual enemy? If it's the former then it might be worth the investment. If it's the latter, my barriers will be up pretty much 24/7 thanks to focusing on it and having my spirit blade refill it on every hit... Which means the times where it will actually work will be rare, and thus not worth it.
Since redoing your specs in DAI is easy apparently, I think I'll try it out for a while and just respec if I don't like it. It's worth a trial run.

Its description says it happens "when enemies destroy it."
Its description says it happens "when enemies destroy it."
Probably not worth it then.
All you guys speculating about Barrier breaking combos: The KE ability that specifies restoring barriers actually specifies 'Stengthens your barrier', so to my mind this only effects you if you actually have an active barrier to strengthen. A broken barrier can't be strengthened as it does not exist.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt they would make KE any more OP than it already appears to be.
