I plan to build a pure tank Blackwall to counter my pure offensive Quizzy. Heres how, share insight if you have any:
Blackwall
Champion:
Line in the Sand + Upgrade
Bulwark
Resilience
Unyielding
Adamant
To the Death
Walking Fortress + Upgrade
Counterstrike
Bonus - +12 Constitution
S&S:
Shield Wall + Upgrade
Payback Strike
Bear Mauls the Wolves
Warriors Resolve
Turn the Bolt
Shield Bash
Turn the Blade
Bonus - +12 Constitution
Vanguard:
War Cry + Upgrade
Challenge + Upgrade
Untouchable Defense
Trust the Steel
It'll Cost You
Cutting Words
Unbowed + Upgrade
Bodyguard + Upgrade
Bonus - +6 Strength, +6 Constitution
Total Bonus Skills: +30 Constitution, +6 Strength
Mapped: Counterstrike, Line in the Sand, Walking Fortress, Shield Wall, Shield Bash, Bodyguard, War Cry, Unbowed
I think its a pretty standard build for Blackwall. At least in the sense that Champion, S&S, and Vanguard are the best skill trees to invest in for a tank.
Someone's streaming a review copy of the game and I got a hold of Wrath of Heaven's upgrade:
Spoiler
my bad...700 damage vs demons.
also com on guys if it would damage verything + the stun it would be overkill.
there are many ways to exploit a 6 second aoe stun.
for one thing equip a party with coup de grace passive and watch them dance
Fire, Frost, Shock and Spirit. Nature is now exclusive to poisons like Tears of the Dead and grenades like Jar of Bees.
If you did notice a similarity, then yes, Bioware is going for an ME style feel. Fire is Incinerate, Frost is Cryo Blast, Shock is Overload, Spirit is Biotics. Nature is the poison damage the Cabal Vanguard had.
Here is my Necromancer build.
Unlock Build (Level 13, 13 points)
Necromancer - 6 (Horror upgraded, Spirit Mark upgraded, Blinding Terror, Simulacrum).
Spirit - 2 (Barrier, Peaceful Aura).
Storm - 2 (Energy Barrage, Conductive Current).
Inferno - 3 (Flashfire Upgraded, Immolate).
Hotbar - Horror, Spirit Mark, Flashfire, Immolate, Energy Barrage, Barrier, Mark of the Rift.
*This is the level you usually get to specialize. Respec and go down the right side of the Necromancy tree. Having pets, fear, panic and lichdom are far more important at this point since we do not have the spell necessary to make full use of Walking Bomb, the Static Cage*
End Game Build (Level 25, 25 points)
Necromancer - 10 (Horror upgraded, Spirit Mark upgraded, Walking Bomb upgraded, Death Syphon, Power of the Dead, Blinding Terror, Simulacrum).
Spirit - 4 (Barrier, Dispel upgraded, Revival, Peaceful Aura).
Storm – 4 (Static Cage, Energy Barrage, Conductive Current, Static Charge).
Inferno - 7 (Flashfire Upgraded, Immolate Upgraded, Flashpoint, Clean Burn, Pyromancer).
Hotbar - Horror, Spirit Mark, Walking Bomb, Immolate, Flashfire, Static Cage, Barrier, Dispel / Revival/ Mark of the Rift.
*This is the level people usually complete their main quests. By this time, you will have plenty of options to choose from when it comes to hotkeyed spells. You can choose to be offensive or defensive, it is up to you.*
Full Build (Level 30 / Level Limit, 30 points)
Necromancer - 10 (Horror upgraded, Spirit Mark upgraded, Walking Bomb upgraded, Death Syphon, Power of the Dead, Blinding Terror, Simulacrum).
Spirit - 8 (Barrier, Dispel upgraded, Revival upgraded, Peaceful Aura, Guardian Spirit, Rejuvenating Barrier).
Storm -5 (Static Cage upgraded, Energy Barrage, Conductive Current, Static Charge).
Inferno - 7 (Flashfire Upgraded, Immolate Upgraded, Flashpoint, Clean Burn, Pyromancer).
Hotbar - Horror, Spirit Mark, Walking Bomb, Immolate, Flashfire, Static Cage, Barrier, Dispel / Revival/ Mark of the Rift.
*The theoretical ideal level cap, would be nice if we could actually reach it in game*
The reasons why I built the Necromancer this way are rather simple.
1)Flashfire with its fear compliments the Horror and its panic goes along really well, there is great synergy there.
2) Static Cage is a great ability consisting of a combination of mass paralysis and lightning bolt. Its main purpose is to keep enemies stuck in an area while Walking Bomb does its job. Disruption Field here or Pull of the Abyss works just as well but I like my characters to be able to do things themselves. Vivienne and Solas will provide great synergy with a Necromancer who is using Walking Bomb.
3) I picked Revival because for one thing, it helps with the theme and the specialization which is Necromancy. You can raise people from near death, sort of, since you can only raise your followers.
However, what this together with Static Cage and Dispel does is that it gives you the option to play a defensive and support role should you wish to do so.
Dispel is here because we will encounter many enemy mages and Fade beings who will buff themselves and their allies. You can counter that effectively and the upgrade to Dispel ensures you get some bonus damage to boot.
At the same time you can also be very offensive with your Fire spells and other Necromantic spells. So you have plenty of flexibility here.
4) You will notice I did not pick Haste. Personally, Haste is not very necromantic for me and if you wish to have a focus ability, Mark of the Rift, which is something all Inquisitors will get, goes well with the Necromancy theme since it is a spell that deals with spirits and demons.

Do we know if the Inquisitor can use focus abilities other than the Mark one?
Yes. You can have up to 2 focus abilties. One from your specialization and the other is Mark of the Rift.
@Ishten, your necromancer build is very similar to mine though I did get a couple talents in the Blizzard tree mainly for fade step and winter stillness. Another difference is in your hot key you have flashfire and I chose wall of fire, which is an AOE and still causes panic. Other than that very similar and nice job!!

While I'm probably gonna end up with my original build, I've been trying to figure out an alternative build for my storm knight enchanter. I think this is an adequate build that could work well. But still...
Inferno:
- Immolate + Wild Fire
- Fire Mine + Searing Glyph
- Wall of Fire + Lasting Flames
- Flashpoint
- Pyromancer
- Clean Burn
Winter:
- Winter's Grasp + Winter's Chill
- Mana Surge
- Fade Step + Frost Step
Spirit:
- Barrier + Elegant Defense
- Guardian Spirit
Knight Enchanter:
- Spirit Blade + Defending Blade
- Fade Cloak + Decloaking Blast
- Resurgence
- Veiled Riposte
- Fade Shield
- Knight Protector
- Combat Clarity
Even though I only have a few taken from winter, mainly for mobility, I'm doubting how inferno and winter will work together. And the stronger enemies have their immunities to certain elements. Are my choices enough? Would you change something?

I decided to not use Wall of Fire because what enemies do, based on video that I have seen is that they avoid the Wall of Fire like a plague. It is meant to be a repositioning and tactical spell with some damage stacked onto it.
Though I can see how Wall of Fire would synergize really well with something like Static Cage...
Lock people in Static Cage, cast Wall of Fire, Cast Walking Bomb, Auto attack and enjoy the show...
However the Wall of Fire cooldown is too long for my taste though, its 32 seconds. That's half a minute and it also does less damage and less fear but it has an AOE effect.
Down to personal taste I think. I might stick with Flashfire since I already have immolate as my AOE.

Hmm you bring up good points. I was thinking of doing static cage + wall of fire. The damage is 200% per second where as flashfire is just 300%.. so over time, wall of fire will do more damage. But good point about Immolate already being in there as our AOE. May have to do some revising ![]()

You could go Immolate + Fire Mine if you want. You would have no Fear but you will have insanely powerful Fire spells at your disposal. I am still deciding if I should do that or simply stick with Immolate + Flashfire combo for the Necromancer.
So finally locked down my Knight-Enchater as well, Guess i'm late to the party somewhat, but it was a fun way to spend the time while waiting for tomorrow to come ![]()
Build made with 25 points in mind, after that i'll see how generous the game will be to me.
Hotbar Build: Spirit Blade, Chain Lightning, Fade Cloak, Energy Barrage, Immolate, Fire Mine, Disruption Field, Static Cage
Knight-Enchanter: 9 Points
A: Spirit Blade + Upg, Fade Cloak +Upg, Disruption Field +Upg
P: Fade Shield, Veiled riposte, Knight-Protector
Storm, 9 Points
A: Chain Lightning +Upg, Energy Barrage +Upg, Static Cage +Upg

Inferno, 7 Points
A: Immolate +Upg, Fire Mine +Upg

I had the same thought initially with fire mine... we both have Horror hot keyed... it'll be something that I decide probably once I play.
Aeryn, check this post out :- http://forum.bioware...2#entry17771444
Thanks, your post looks very promising. I've wanted to take something from Inferno, but the build I've been working on, is heavily based on storm and had no space for them.
My mage build so far:
Winter: (2 points)
Storm: (1 point)
Spirit: (9 points)
Inferno: (3 points)
Knight Enchanter: (8 points)
[23 points total]
Equipped spells:
Going full white mage, baby.
Building as glassy as I can, and I'll be using a spirit staff if they're available. If Clean Burn works with Spirit Blade, I'll just swing it around like an idiot so I can spam Barrier and Revival (as well as other spells) from a distance. :>
If Spirit Blade doesn't work with Clean Burn, I'll probably replace it with Fade Cloak or Ice Wall. Close-combat isn't really my thing, but support is.
Wow, just checked out the Rogue talents, looking great! I was going to make a Rogue anyway, but glad it looks like it will be a lot of fun! Definitely going Assassin, though the other specializations look interesting and would be a totally different playstyle.
with all the rift closing I bet templar would shine through the game. Probably my first play throughI agree with you, however the only thing im not happy about the templar spec is that it doesn't state that it does that extra damage against mages.
Though damn, with that kind of power, demons have got all the reason to fear a templar Herald
so, anyone seen a stream with the upgraded assassin abilities?
