Hahaha, I remember saying imagine 8 seconds of no stamina cost you could just long short on repeat. Then later going 'oh wait, CDs'. Apparently I was right originally while thinking Iwas an idiot. non-stop long shots! Or.. Infinite spinny blades. or... or... yeah Tempest is the **** LOL. ![]()
-edit-
Long shots, not long shorts... I mean, well, with Sera around she might of stolen a buncha long shorts too so you know, might have a buncha those laying around as well.

Agreed.
From a high spot, Sera could potentially clear an entire field just by spamming Explosive Shot while under Flask of Fire.
And suddenly my all Rogue team isn't looking so difficult to pull off.

/looks at the Flask of Fire upgrade.
Whoa.
Well, if this is identical in SP, we definitively know what spec has the biggest burst damage potential.
It's also intriguing that Rogues have off-tank potential now. I'm tempted to go Tempest for first playthrough.

Flask of Frost will taunt nearby enemies! Wow and with that damage reduction that they have while it is active. I may to check out tempest in the future. En Garde is absolutely perfect. It literally takes away the disadvantage of To The Death. That ability is totally going on my bar now. Thank you Xarius the new info is much appreciated.

Flask of Ice upgrade:
Bitter Chill - Activating Flask of Frost also taunts nearby enemies to attack you.
Range: 8 meters
Flask of Fire upgrade:
Unquenchable Flames - While Flask of Fire is active, all of your abilities have no cooldown.

Hm, wait a second.
There's no way Fire Flask can work this way in SP.
The reason is Quick Blade, an upgrade to Shadow Strike in Subterfuge tree. It reduces all active cooldowns.
Spamming it would result in 100% Fire Flask uptime, which would obviously break the game. The only conclusion I see is that the SP version of Fire Flask must have restrictions. Or perhaps Quick Blade won't work with it (though this isn't stated in the spell description).
Edit: Just thought about it and realized I have no idea how cooldowns in DAI are governed, so there's no way to know this one way or another. Ignore my speculations.

perhaps the cd for fire flask doesn't trigger until the flask effect expires? most logical way i can think of getting around that.

That's a misread of Shadow Strike. The upgrade doesn't eliminate all CD's, it doesn't reset them, it reduces all existing CD's currently on CD by 4 seconds. Flask CD's are like 32 seconds. 4 Seconds of that is far, FAR from spammable. Though with enough %CD from rings or belts or whatever (which, apparently, is a universal applier to all CD's) will definitely help as well.
So there ya go, not infinite Fire Flask, yeah that's how it works in SP.
-edit-
Ahh wait I see what your saying, spam Shadow Strike, reduce every 4 seconds you use it. If you do the lightning -> fire combo you could... probably reset all of em pretty close. Only issue I'd see is Shadow Strike is a rather lengthy animation (well most are), enemies are knocked down, your really only hitting 1 enemy.
I guess you could use Shadow Strike to spam the CD's down but that's be kinda shitty dmg compared to everything else you could be doing with that infinite stamina.

Then we agree that there's no way they'd let us have infinite Fire Flask.
That said, I didn't misread Shadow Strike. If Fire Flask's 32 second cooldown started when the Flask is activated, that gives us 8 seconds to spam as many Shadow Strikes as we can in order to reduce the Fire Flask cooldown by another 24 seconds. Seems doable.
Instead, it's more likely that Flask cooldowns don't start until the Flask runs out, as Galaxy_Siege suggested.

5 seconds, you'd get about 3-4 shadow strikes with that. 8 seconds is only if you used Lightning Flask first. Though I agree, while I think using shadow strike is garbage burst dmg compared to other options in a longer fight like against a dragon, constant 400% dmg could be pretty crazy. I can definitely see the CD only triggering after the buff fades as a compensation. And if it doesn't at launch I could definitely see that getting patched in to compensate for the Shadow Strike chain crazy.

If i do go with a templar inquisitor siding with the Templars, it will be a sword and shield.
However..... I could easily make a 'pro-templar' Tempest Archer ....cause those abilities hot damn !

Oh one other thing, I don't think Fire Flask will reset all CD's on it use. I think it'll just make the CD not trigger once the flask is active. That or it wont reset flask CD's. Otherwise you'd be able to 8 second Lightning Flask immediately after Fire after using Lightning to get an 8 seconds of Fire. If it doesn't reset any CD at all upon use, we'll have to be careful with what we do with Lightning Flask.
As my archer that's not to bad, I can Full Draw 1 enemy at the beginning, immediate lightning and probably just auto-attack something down. Immediately into Flask of Fire for the 8 seconds of either explosive or Long Shot depending if theres 1 enemy that needs to be burned or a group.
